Overall I'm happy with the work. I received the estimate quickly and the work started within a week. I chose MHIC because it was the lowest cost estimate. The overall finished project is fine, but the quality on the taping/spackling could be a little better, I didn't notice until I started to paint the area that there were divots/issues (and I haven't asked MHIC to fix it.) While the project started quickly, I was frustrated with the how the day-to-day timing worked out...and that there was basically one person doing most of the work and that he didn't always have the supplies needed for the day's work.

Work was done punctually and professionally. However, the price was too high, except for the stair refinishing -- that was done well and priced according to competitive bids.

Provider constructed a Deck at the rear of my home that consisted of Composite (Trex) wood, Electrical light fixtures, Stair Well, and some painting to exterior areas. Provider constructed a Wet Bar in the finished part of the basement. The job consisted of Ceramic Tile floor installation, electrical, plumbing, cabinet installation including accessories, and Granite Counter tops. Provider also installed the electrical appliances. Provider installed six (6) ceiling fans to the interior of the house. This job consisted of all labor intensive electrical work. Provider constructed a large wooden Shelf to the interior of the garage area. The wooden shelf sits above the parked cars and serves as extra storage space. All work provided by this Contractor is excellent and I would recommend MHIC to anyone needing home improvement and or remodeling services.

I called around 10am and asked for an estimate that day. The company agreed they could do an estimate at 2pm. The house is currently vacant. So I arrived at the house at 1:45. Around 2:30, I called the company to find out where they were...no answer. I called twice more after that and finally got an answer. The gentleman that answered didn't even remember that we had an appointment. I asked if he had that we were to meet at 2pm. He just asked if I'd be around for a few hours. I told him I do not live at the residence. He said that he couldn't come for a few hours. What a waste of time!

Very punctual, provided free verbal & written estimate as agreed. We did not use this contractor because of initial price estimate. Provided follow-up communications very punctual, professional.

I worked with the handyman and we were able to accomplish all the tasks in a remarkable short time--4hours! this was quite a relief for me as these things had been bothering me for some time. I am quite pleased with the results. The handyman had tools that I did not and greater skills. At the same time, tasks that were more complicated or required following written directions were sometimes a problem. For example, the medicine cabinet required a bit of assembly and the handyman thought the shelves somehow belonged on the sides.

JJ did a great job on our basement renovation. He and his crew were very professional and easy to work with. They kept my house clean, stuck to the plan, and stayed within budget. My wife and I are very satisfied with the work that was done and are enjoying our new basement.

Great. We had 3 ceiling fans installed, replaced three flush mount ceiling lights, had a new outlet installed, and had a GFCI installed. It took a total of 11 hours and we very happy with the work that was done.

They were great! Arrived on time and completed the work quickly. They were neat, professional and did exactly what I asked them to do. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

Requested an estimate for finishing a basement. Contractor showed up at the requested time, listened to the project description, and seemed interested in completing the work (although we were informed they wouldn't be able to start work for 4 months since they were busy, which we said might be okay depending on the price). We were told we would hear back from them in a week or two. Well, we never heard anything back. Never got a call, email or letter. That's the end of the story. To summarize: Took time off work to meet with the contractor, went over in detail the scope of the project, and never got an estimate. Maybe they were too busy or just not interested in my project, but as someone who is in the professional services industry myself, I find this highly unprofessional. Maybe they do good work.....who knows. I won't waste my time again trying to find out.

After I purchased the deal, they quickly called me to let me know they didn’t work in my area. I had the deal refunded.

He was on time for the intial assessment, offered cost-effective solutions and invaluable advice. We were unable to have the renovations done at that time - but he would be the right company for the job.

It went excellent. They knew what they were doing, worked hard, cleaned up well, and did a good job. I was very impressed and would use them again.

Contacted MHIC to provide an estimate on repairing/replacing a door. Scheduled an appt. but they never showed nor did they phone. I called that afternoon to see if they were delayed or had to cancel for some reason. I left a voice mail but nobody ever contacted me. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I recommend that people look elsewhere for assistance.

Showed up as scheduled and got right to work. Although JJ and his talented assistant had never done this particular installation before they read the instructions and figured it out as they went. They were very respectful of my home, working cleanly and cleaning up any debris that was unavoidable. Cutting holes in the ceiling can be pretty messy but they brought their own tarps and even re-covered areas I had pre-covered. The sun tunnels look great and work amazingly well. The ceiling they repaired also looks good. I am so pleased that I have requested a quote on a kitchen remodel.

JJ installed a shower door for us. The shower was 1 inch out of plumb so the job was very difficult. Everything turned out great!

JJ is awesome. super responsible, going out of his way to do right by the customer. We liked him so much that we hired him to finish our basement. His tiling crew worked wonderfully with the travertine. JJ is flexible, courteous and delivers exactly what he promises to. Always punctual. This is a highly recommended business.

I had a terrific experience. We worked well together in designing the changes that needed to be made and the work was done on time and within budget. MHIC did a great job. Very professional and wonderful customer service.

MHIC was courteous and thorough, the contractor asked me a lot of questions and discussed options for the layout of the project which I found helpful. The contractor wasn't able to schedule the project as quickly as I had hoped, but because I had gone through so many other contractor estimates by the time MHIC was doing my estimate for me I only had a few weeks to get the project done. Contractor seemed very honest and personable and genuinely interested to help me get my project done. If I didn't have such a tight timeline I would have used MHIC, but instead I chose not to pursue the project at all.

I want to get my kitchen floor redone. I called to ask, and the guy asked “what do you want?” I said I didn’t want wood. He didn’t offer to come out and show samples. He didn’t pay attention to me. He wasn’t listening. He was very short and didn’t have the time to talk to me.
