After finding Kris on Angie's List I gave him a call to see if I could get an estimate for his services. He indicated that I could have just an estimate only or I could block out an amount of time for an estimate and the service itself. I chose the latter. On the day before Kris was to come to my home, he encountered a problem with his vehicle. He called me and told me that I could either take a later date or if my needs were urgent, he would refer me to another vendor in my area. He also informed me that since the cancellation was his fault, he would add an additional 10% discount on top of what I would receive through the list. Kris called both the day before and before heading out to confirm our appointment. He was prompt, professional and a pleasure to deal with. After explaining the services he was to provide, he also outlined some additional services. He did not pressure me to do those at all and I declined them. I have three pre-teen boys who have created a mess of certain areas of the carpet. By the time Kris was done, the carpet looked almost new. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the work performed and would use Kris again without hesitation.

We are getting ready to list our house, and wanted to try getting the carpet cleaned to determine if it needed to be replaced or not. Kris was able to come and do the work on a saturday, about one week after calling. He called before he arrived to let me know he was en route. He was friendly, professional, and a very hard worker.I am amazed at how good the stairs and hallways look, there was dirt on the edges of the stairs that I thought would never budge- they look like new! Also, the carpet felt so soft afterwards. He got the majority of the spots up in our office- it is a 100% improvement. I will absolutely use the company again and recommend them to friends and family. Thanks for a job well done!

SUPERB work. I employed Carpet 1st to clean my apartment carpets on two occasions, and was happy with them, so I employed them again when I moved into my home. I used to work for a high-quality carpet cleaning company myself, so I can appreciate the exceptional service this company provides. They arranged the appointment via e-mail, came on the day they said they would, called ahead to let me know of a 15 minute delay, and provided a straightforward, understandable estimate. They carefully prepared my home, placing door protection and corner protection throughout, being more careful with my house than I would have been had I been doing the job myself. They did a thorough vacuum before proceeding to steam-clean the carpet. Carpet 1st uses a van-mounted, gas-powered Hyrda-Master cleaning unit - best in the business. They were successful in removing stains that, based on my experience, I had no expectation could be removed. Furniture was placed on protective blocks for drying. The owner and his son were both total gentlemen, treating me with the utmost respect, and complete honesty. My carpets and area rugs now look practically new. I am very happy with the work Carpet 1st did, and would happily recommend them to anyone.

We are very pleased with both the quality of the cleaning and the customer service provided by Kris. Because we were listing our house for sale, we wanted to make an assessment of the carpet situation. Of course, we did not want to replace carpets if a cleaning would suffice. Kris walked the entire house pointing out and noting trouble spots. He was confident that he could clean the carpets to our satisfaction and that if we weren't happy, he would do it over and if we still werent happy, he would totally refund our money. We had carpet in the family room that we had decided to replace at a cost of $1500+. It was badly stained from everything from wine to animal problems. There was no way that we thought it would come clean. Kris looked at it and said that he could clean it...no problem. We mentioned to some friends who said, of course he would say that. But with his money back guarantee, we had nothing to lose. When he finished, the carpet look like new. Kris showed up right on schedule for the estimate calling before he came. He had estimated that it would take him a day and a half to do the entire job. Because of timing, we could only give him one day. Knowing the importance of us having the entire job done, he finished the job in one long day. Kris is very professional and dedicated. In particular, he pays attention to detail. For instance, no matter when he enters your home, he will place plastic covers on his feet. He places guides at corners for his hoses so he doesn't damage walls, etc. When finished, the carpet was just gorgeous. No need whatsoever to replace any carpet. We were astounded. Because the carpet repair was quicker and easier than anticipated, he reduced the repair cost by 1/3. For significantly less than the cost of replacing the family room carpet, we got the whole house cleaned. There is no way we could be happier with service, professionalism and the overall experience.

Kris arrived on time and explained my options and the procedure. He got right to work, took extra precautions to keep any mess to a minimum, moved furniture as needed and did an excellent job. Two days later a visitor asked if I got new carpeting. I was very pleased with his work and would highly recommend Carpet 1st to anyone.

I left a message on Saturday afternoon and got call back on Monday. Kris was very polite and asked me then I would like to have my carpet cleaned. I told him Wednesday morning and he agreed. He arrived on time, did some measurements, inspected our carpet, explained how he is going to do cleaning and gave me a price. I asked him to use green products which he did. He put cover on front door, put shoe covers on, put protectors for wall corners and started to work. At the end he also brushed the carpet, so it will be soft again. He did very good job. He managed to clean our high traffic area which others could not before. He also gave me an advise on how to clean bathroom floor grout. I would recommend him to everyone.

Kris very patiently answered all questions on the initial phone call. He is very clear and very thorough. When he came to the house he was again very friendly and patient. He explained everything. His work was very thorough and the carpeting done looked great (even though five years old!). He considerately thinks of everything, such as giving me little plastic booties to wear until the carpet was completely dry; taking extra care with tv/antenna, explaining various things like the fact that although the carpet would appear dry in several hours, the padding would still be damp and that I should not move my cardboard boxes back in until the evening (which I would have done had he not cautioned me). He deserves an overall A+ in considerateness, thoroughness and excellent workmanship (as well as green products). I can't imagine what he could have done better.

They were very professional. He put a device on the door to keep the hot air inside. He protected the furniture. He does a great job. I would use him again.

My husband and I used Carpet 1st for the cleaning of the carpets in our former home. We were pleased with the results. When we purchased our new home, we called Carpet 1st to see if they could handle the job of cleaning the carpets and applying an allergen treatment. The previous owners had cats, an animal to which I am quite allergic. I informed Kris that I could not move into the home until the allergens were removed. Kris scheduled our cleaning for the day after our settlement, a Saturday, and charged us no additional fee for working during a weekend. Kris arrived promptly on the day contracted. He had his work cut out for him. The former home of a family of seven, the carpet showed wear and plenty of staining, including some intimidating juice stains. Kris worked diligently in each room of the house to return the carpets to their best possible condition. The results were amazing; the carpets in our living, dining and master bedroom looked completely rejuvenated. The spare bedrooms, which had the heaviest staining, were tremendously improved. Even the bright red juice stain had faded to an almost imperceptible pink. Kris also applied an allergen treatment to the carpets that would neutralize the allergens in the carpet. The treatment proved effective as I have had little problems with allergies since moving in. I recommend Carpet 1st to anyone looking to have their carpets restored to their original beauty.

Came out the day after I called. Called day of cleaning to see if he could come early (yes!). I left Kris alone in the house to do the work after leaving him with the check for the job. Came home to a locked house and a clean carpet; no problems not being home during the job or after.

The technician did considerable prep work. He placed bumpers at all corners of walls and furniture to protect these. He vacuumed and took great care to cover his shoes with protectors and to keep the house door closed to keep air conditioning in the house. He was very thorough in cleaning (steam) and rebrushing the carpet, when finished. He cleaned up completely. It took 3 or 4 hours. He placed furniture on coasters to protect the furniture. He also, left shoe covers for us, should we need to walk on the carpet, before it was dry.

Polite, efficient, respectful of owner's property and privacy. The service person was able to remove almost all stains, some of which were left by the previous owner's pets. Two stains in a good-quality wool carpet were lightened considerably, more than I had hoped he could accomplish. Carpets dried reasonably quickly; able to walk on them right away. He took care with our furniture, put it up on Styrofoam blocks. Did not knock the cleaning machine or vacuum against the furniture. His rates were very reasonable compared to other companies. He did a much better job than two other companies I had hired before (the other two companies are well-known nation-wide franchises), getting out stains that those companies had not. I have had him in to clean carpets twice now. On the second occasion, we had water damage from a plumber's mistake, and he was able to get that stain out, too. I recommend Carpet 1st to friends and colleagues.
