Mark Andersen and his skilled team helped completely transform our house by expanding our 1.5 bathroom home into 3.5 ba, adding gorgeous aesthetics (, including walk-in closet with a pocket door), and making everything more functional in the process. They exhibit the highest levels of professionalism, quality, efficiency and commitment. There were no games, delays or lapse in their work; they were always on-time, friendly, and hard working. They went above-and-beyond on everything, including calling six different locations to find, and then driving down to VA to get, our specific (deprecated) siding for an exact match. They're also very safety conscious, including taking all recommended COVID precautions to keep our family safe throughout. Anything you can think of, they can do; electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, replacing or installing interior or exterior doors or windows, ... We gave Mark a high-level idea of what we wanted, and he molded it into our dream. If I had the money to build a house from scratch this is the team I'd hire; but minimally they're who I'll be using for any future renovations while I'm in the area.

In October 2019, Mark Andersen and his crew did an A+ job. The price was very reasonable. The professionalism, workmanship, and attention to detail were beyond outstanding as was the punctuality and responsiveness. Their daily clean-up was incredible. For example, one evening some sawdust slid onto the lawn. No problem--just vacuum the grass with a dry vac. Would I hire them again? You bet! In fact, I just hired Andersen again for some interior projects.

We had an excellent experience with Andersen remodeling our master bathroom. The design and proposal phase was done in a very non-pushy manner. Mark listened to our thoughts and provided constructive feedback. He let us know when an idea was going to be more expensive than we thought and why it was so, which was very helpful. He was flexible to ensure the plan was what we wanted and let us know how the decisions we were making were affecting the cost. The crew that did the work were both very professional and very considerate. Before they started the work every day, they asked our preferences on details and were patient and helpful as we tried to make our decisions. This approach resulted in a bathroom perfectly tailored to us. The tile work was excellent. We have been using it daily for four months and there has been no water penetration issues, which was a concern of mine given other's experiences. The total cost of the project matched the agreed upon proposal/estimate before construction began. We will definitely consider Andersen for future remodeling tasks.

Andersen Construction was one of 4 bidders we had for two bathroom remodels in our home. They were not the lowest, but they were the most responsive to questions and were very detailed in their bid. The master bath remodel was a very large job which included moving of walls, relocation of nearly all of the plumbing, significant electrical work ...etc. They were on time, punctual everyday, polite, professional and always left the job site clean and tidy at the end of each day. They are the best construction contractor I have worked with in a long time and I would recommend them for anything you are considering am planning to use them again.

The quoted price was very competitive with all the others we received. Due to heavy and frequent rain, the project was delayed, but Mark kept us up to date on when he could start. Once started, the project was completed quickly. Workmanship was excellent and the crew cleaned up each day. We are extremely satisfied with the end result.

Fantastic. Mark and his team produced on time, on budget, and the quality was A+. We decided to build out our deck for our son‘s engagement party. Mark got us on his schedule and finished on time, even when weather threatened to take some work days away from them. The deck was beautiful and so sturdy! We were able to get a LOT of people on the deck! He patiently vetted all our questions and alterations (skylights!) along the way, building permits - it was a BIG project. His team was courteous and clean up was complete. Our covered deck is now one of the most beautiful parts of our house! We enjoyed showing it off to our friends and family. We love it!!!

Excellent. We had been planning this for so long and Matt and team did an amazing job. It exceeded our high expectations. They are pure professionals... they communicate well, keep everything organized and clean during the process, and clearly take pride in their work. The project was done in the time frame estimated and on budget. The estimating process allowed us to make suggestions to see impacts. They came back and took care of a couple of small follow-up items promptly. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to everyone.

Great. Again. A few years ago we hired Mark and his crew to put a kitchen addition onto our home. We have enjoyed the kitchen immensely, so when we decided to change our one car garage to a two car garage, we called Mark back. As with our prior experience with him, when he gave us his estimate, he was punctual and his prices were fair. Due to some uncertainty regarding school districting (thank you HCPSS) we had to delay the work. Mark assured us that his estimate would be valid even after several months’ delay. We finally gave him the go ahead, and despite a late Spring snowstorm ( thank you Mother Nature) which delayed the work a week, Mark and his crew got the work done quickly and professionally. They were punctual, efficient, cleaned up every day, communicated with us about progress, and finished well within the projected time to complete the job. The end result is just what we wanted. I’m loving my new garage smell!

Mark was a dream to work with from start to finish. I have a high standard and Mark never let me down. I had 4 contractors bid this job and I chose Mark because I felt like he had excellent interpersonal communication, had excellent reviews on Angie’s list, and a fair price for the quality I was seeking. Honestly, he’s just a really nice guy who does a great job. I have trouble believing there is any contractor listed on Angie’s list who will give you better service and value for your money. Our job was a complete remodel of our kitchen including the moving of a wall and a new floor plan. This required all new plumbing, new electrical, new counters, an entirely new floor, a new ductless heating/AC system to make the kitchen it’s own zone, installation of cabinets, flood stops, cabinet modifications and more. We even recessed some of the cabinets into the wall and the finished product is impeccable. I cannot tell you how many compliments we have gotten. Mark is an example of the ideal contractor. His workers are pleasant and of high quality and always willing to accommodate. I actually trusted Mark so much that I gave him the keys to my house and we went to Florida for part of the construction. Mark is that trustworthy! Not a thing was stolen, moved, or damaged while away. He sent me pictures daily while we are away and was always available for questions and requests. He does not nickel and dime his customers and sticks to his price. As with any job, things were added and Mark always handled these add-ons professionally and fairly. He is very familiar with every job and on site every day. I love that he only has two crews so that he can maintain the quality product. When we originally signed on the wait was about three months and let me tell you, the wait was worth it. Honestly, who would want to hire a contractor that was immediately available anyway? Mark handles getting all of the necessary permits and hires high-quality subcontractors when indicated. In my case this was for the electrical work, the plumbing work, and the HVAC work. Every part of this job was done very very very well. If I could nominate him for contractor of the year I would. That’s how strongly I recommend him. I have already recommended Mark to one of my colleagues at work and one of my neighbors. I am also including in this review pictures of our kitchen before demolition and after it is all done. The ceiling picture is trying to show the ductless system in our kitchen. The price I quoted below does not include the price of the cabinets which I bought from another vendor.

Mark and his guys did outstanding work remodeling my hall bath. It required a complete tear down to the studs and rebuild, including drywall, plumbing, tile, paint, fixtures, and electrical. All work was performed on or ahead of schedule. His team communicated to me what was happening when, and kept area outside room very clean. We had purchased the tub to be installed, that we later learned had a unseen manufacturer's defect. Mark coordinated the warranty repair with the manufacturer and their contractor and left a spotless product. Highly recommended.

We built our house over 19 years ago and we did not really do anything to it for about 19 years. So it was time to get modernized. I am pretty handy with the computer and rebuilt my existing house virtually in a CAD system in order to be able to visualize everything my wife and I discussed what we wanted to do over the past 2 decades. So I took about a month designing/sculpting our new interior and exterior until I got 4 different layouts ranging from the most changes to the least. I spent another two months searching and submitting my remodeling ideas to Angie’s List contractors and contractors recommended by our neighbors. What I quickly realized was what I wanted and what I could afford were on opposite ends of the spectrum. Also, most of the contractors had a difficult time producing a quote that conveyed my ideas. Things were missing, quotes were rushed, and even one only would do a phone quote and missed a lot of detail because they did not visit the house. I was about to give up and settle for the lowest bid with the lowest remodeling option until I contacted Anderson Woodworking. Mark the owner stopped by our house after receiving my plans and various options and spent a lot of time getting to know us and what we wanted to do. We went over our design ideas he gave us some tips and told us he would get a quote to us in a couple of weeks which we said was fine. When the quote arrived, we were elated. Not only did the quote fit one our larger remodeling options, Mark was the only contractor to portray in writing exactly what we wanted done in a simple 2 page contract. Our second largest option was the following: gutting and redoing the kitchen with ~ 100 sq. ft. granite, hardwood floors on the 1st and second floor (~1100 sq. ft.), resurfacing our old 16x20 wooden deck with new composite flooring and vinyl rails, a new patio, an 10 x 16 extension to our existing sunroom off of our kitchen, a 10x20 screened in porch over the new patio, and a 10x16 poured concrete shed under the sunroom extension. Included in the quote was all of the appliances I specified and the granite grade I wanted. Mark gave us a starting time that fit into exact time frame we wanted. That may have been a bit of luck, but some other contractors the lead time was several months later. He told us the job would take 10 weeks and that was just about the time it took plus a couple of days or so. We particularly enjoyed how 90% of the entire job was done with his team with only the electrical, plumbing, and concrete subbed out. They showed up every morning around 8am left around 4pm with the weekends off. Each day they cleaned up the worksite. They became familiar faces welcomed in our house throughout the summer. As for the finished product, take a look at the pictures, we love it! Our friends and neighbors are amazed at the transformation. My favorite part is the screened in porch watching movies at night. Now like all large projects nothing goes perfect and with such a large project there will always be minor bumps in the road. Having experienced having our house built 19 years ago, you learn to know what to look out for. Mark and his team were able to go above and beyond to alleviate our concerns and correct them quickly during the remodeling phase. At the end, the punch list consisted of minor things to finish and clean. They were also quick to respond and repair some post construction issues we had with our porch and water drainage. Mark and his team were easy to talk and were willing to put their best effort to make the customer happy.

Work was completed quickly. Crew was professional and showed up on time. Love the new space! Beautiful work.

Mark and his crew were a pleasure to work with - we had our half finished basement flooring replaced. We couldn't be happier with the work - his crew worked with us every step of the way and finished on time and under budget! Six months later and it still looks as good as new. Mark and his team are true craftsman, and we'd hire them again for any future projects.

This is the third time we've use this company for remodeling projects. Each time they were punctual, on budget, flexible with alterations and provided a stellar final product at a competitive price. Experience: From the start I had a good feeling about dealing with Mark and confidence that he would do things the right way. He gave us very accurate estimates for all of the fixtures and materials -- most which we picked out ourselves. Mark coordinated the project from a business perspective and was on-site some of the time to oversee progress. Matt was the lead man in his absence and handled more of the finer details. Matt and Mark are both super nice guys who look out for your best interests and are a pleasure to work with. All of the crew seemed to be trustworthy guys. Mark also handled the communication with the subcontractors (plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians) which makes the project seamless for the homeowner. After the project was finished, there were a few small kinks, but Mark handled them in a timely manor at no additional cost to me. In case you're curious the kinks were: one outlet tripped very frequently, no hot water from the sink in the new bathroom and cracks in the bedroom drywall that appeared months after the renovation (this happens often). The important thing to know here is that Mark smoothed out the drywall (even though this was months after the reno), and he immediately called the plumber and electrician back to rectify their respective issues. It's nice to know that your contractor has your back when small issues do arise. Craftsmanship: The team did an amazing job with the bathroom. It came out looking about as nice as it could have given the available space and budget. The tile work in the shower is like a work of art -- It's absolutely stunning. Matt suggested adding some shower shelves in the corner, which is a detail that we overlooked, but I am very appreciative for his suggestion. We opted for a rainfall shower head, and the water pressure is still very good. Matt also advised us on the grout for the ceramic wood-look floor tiles that we picked out and installed them perfectly. He also did a great job with the vanity/sink installation. We had trouble finding a shallow vanity to fit the space properly. The vanity we picked actually cut into the door frame by about a half an inch. But, Matt was able to remove a portion of the door frame and install a smaller piece of would which allowed the vanity cabinet door to open without rubbing against the door frame. Now that the project is finished, I highly doubt anyone would notice the change to the door frame. The bedroom itself looks like one cohesive space. Part of the renovation included new drywall in the new larger space which was done well. Also, the wood flooring in the two extant rooms was very slightly different and the team feathered the hardwood in together seamlessly. The closet hanging rods and shelves are sturdy, installed at the appropriate heights and look nice. There have been no issues with the power vent. Andersen Woodworking and Remodeling gave us the master bedroom that we couldn't find in our Annapolis home search. The project was completed on-time and slightly under budget. We have lived in the house for over a year since the renovation and are very pleased with the quality of the work performed.

There was no cost for the quote. We ended up not using them.

Mark and his team worked efficiently and with slight disruption to the rest of the house (some dust which is expected). All permitting and inspections were handled by him with little effort required on our part. He communicated clearly and promptly during the process and we were very satisfied with the quality of work. The price was reasonable based on other quotes that we received. Mark was also willing to make changes to our design when we requested them. The entire process took around 6 weeks. We would definitely recommend Andersen Woodworking & Remodeling and will likely use them on future projects.
