Long Fence

It was really good. They are not very flexible in what they can't do and what they can do. They are a more expensive company. They were pleasant and easy to work with. They have financing.

They had a cancellation and had some extra heavy duty fencing that they put in for us for the same price as the lower grade. They did a great job and I would recommend them. They have put in a few gates at our home as well. They have great customer service.

We had our fence get damaged by a tree and they came right out to repair it. They came out 2 days after we called them to replace the fence. We have used them multiple times since them. They do good work but you pay for it.

They have been in business a long time. They came on time and gave me an estimate. The estimate was right on. It took them about two days to do the work. They failed to drill a hole in the concrete to keep one of the rods in place, and it took them about two months to repair it after they had already been paid.

The experience was absolutely horrible. It took them 5 months to complete the project after saying it would take 3 weeks. They sent a company they subcontracted to do the pavers. They did an ok job. Then they sent one man who could not speak English to do the rest of the job. A foreman came over in the morning, told him what to do and left. The man made so many mistakes, the platform for the hot tub failed inspection 3 times, the man did the wrong measurements so the gazebo would not fit the deck. The deck had to be rebuilt. The salesman would not respond to my desperate calls for help. No one, even top execs., would help. I spent numerous hours leaving work to go supervise the project. The hot tub company called and was going to charge us storage for it taking so long. They messed up the electrician's work so the electrician came back and recharged us (I did make Long Fence reimburse us for that). Long Fence should have stuck with fences, they are not qualified nor have the staff to do decks.

It went very well. They came back and fixed a slight problem afterwards for no extra charge. They were very quick about putting the chain link fence up for us.

Salesman was great, they showed up to do the job when they were supposed to, finished quickly, large crew, cleaned up after themselves. The fence didn't wear well, boards warped and curled up and gate literally fell apart, and latch fell off gate less than 4 years old. Called them to ask for repair. Spoke with 3 or 4 people who were all really nice and took all my information. When last person called he was gruff almost to the point of being impolite. I explained to him that the wood was warping and the tops of the fence was curling up and the gate had fallen apart. He interrupted me to tell me, "well the gate alone is $750.00, do you still want me to come out and fix it." That's almost 50% of what the original cost of the entire fence was! I told him no and called a handyman who fixed the whole thing for less than $100.00. I will never use Long Fence again or any of the affiliates.

I like that the salesman kept to his original quote. I liked his personality and demure. They are a reputable company and we got neighborhood referrals. The results are good and the work was solid.

It was a great job done by the two workers they where they came when they said they would, worked very hard and were very skillful in their work! Great job in the end.

Tim was our sales guy and he was phenomenal. The crew arrived a little early (does that really ever happen?!) and worked straight through until completion. They were all friendly, good, and easy to work with. The fence looks fantastic and was well worth the expense. If I were going to be picky, I'd have had them tweak a couple pickets, but it's not a big deal. They also left an empty water bottle behind our garage, but, again, I'm not going to be worried about that, given the fantastic work they did.

We were not happy with the workmanship, timeliness and not satisfied with completion of the job. The quality of the materials was also substandard. After they sued us, small claims court determined that we did not owe the remaining balance due to poor quality of the workmanship and quality of materials.

From Mr. Allen, the estimator, to the workers, all were professional. I have and will continue to recommend Long Fence.

The representative needed help measuring the fence line. The crew was fast and efficient. They were very professional. They finished the job in one day. I have already recommended them to my neighbors.

The weakest link was the salesman. The workers were great, but it was hard to pinpoint when they were actually going to do the work.

I called them and they were here the next day. He told me that I could have the standard fence or a stronger fencing and it looks better than the standard. It was only $150 for the upgrade. They also did some landscaping, pulled down the fence, and hauled it away.

It took weeks to get the drawing. The workers broke my gate and did not report it to me. The sunroom is not sealed well. I have had water come into the room from the rain. I reported the problem and asked to exercise my rights under my warranty, but they have not responded. The nails started popping out of the steps two years after installation. Their work is supposed to be guaranteed for life, but in addition to the nails coming out, when it rains, water comes into my sunroom.

They did a great job. They showed up on time to do the work. They were very friendly and polite. They cleaned up well after themselves when they were done. I would use them again and would also recommend them.

They did a great job. When I had a problem they came back promptly and fixed it. They didn't ask for payment until after the job was completed to my satisfaction. I did find out that I could have bought the materials on-line for less than what they charged.

Our salesman, Walt, came out and estimated the job and helped us with ideas for fence and gate placement. He showed up on time, gave us a fair price and didn't push. He came back a few weeks later when we decided to use Long and we had a few changes to the original shape of the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears to be well constructed. There were a few minor glitches with scheduling which were easily managed with a call to Walt and the scheduling department. The crew showed up earlier than expected so we were not there until about 15 minutes after they began. This caused a minor glitch in the digging of the posts as a few were not exactly where we wanted. The job foreman, Nelson, was easy to communicate with and made exactly the changes we wanted. Some of the wood was not up to the quality we expected, and the crew replaced many of the boards we felt were problematic. They told us Long would replace any others we needed replaced, and that was completed within a week.

Their quote was very detailed and prompt, but given the price we decided to hold off on the project. The Long Fence representative was very knowledgeable and prompt though, so we will definitely consider calling them if we decide to pick up the project again. Unlike some of the vendors we met with, Long Fence is licensed and will take care of the hassle of getting all the necessary permits.

Beautiful, excellent quality. Pay a premium, but they are great. They are very neat workers, come with right tools, show up on time, and clean up after themselves. It looks very professional.

We had several call backs. The work was not done correctly but they eventually got it fixed. There is no internal coordination between departments.

They did a good job on the deck. They showed up on time and did what they said they were going to do. There were surprises along the way; there was a natural gas line that was punctured with a post hole digger. The fire department was called in to clear the area. They were slow on the clean up. I owed $2,500 on the project and would not pay them until they came back and cleaned up the debris they left. I can not say that I would hire them again or not. I think I would call around and see what other companies had to offer before I went back to them.

I am part of a Home Owner's Association and Long Fence provided the necessary information to get approval on the job. There was one minor problem with a front loader leaving tracks in a common area, but they worked directly with the Home Owner's Association to resolve that. They also put in a paver patio for me in the back which was 20 x 6 which did not have to be approved because it was inside the fenced area.

From the start, there was a lack of communication. They did not tell me they were coming out to install the posts. I had come home and this 6 foot post was sticking out of my yard with no workers there. I called them to find out what was going on. I could not get anyone to return my call. When I called again very angry, the manager got on the phone and apologized for the confusion. The job did take a turn for the better after that as they came out and completed the job. The fence also looks very nice as people will walk by and ask me who done the fence. It is very beautiful.
