+ 1 moreTotal rip off. We paid top dollar and they delivered an inferior product. No back up on collapsed ceilings, black mold due to faulty plumbing. No or little insulation, incorrectly installed locks. They're ineptitude caused us almost a year delay in moving in and cost us an extra $100,000. Don't trust these guys. And if they send you their mother to manage the project bail out.

+ 1 moreThey failed to perform as promised. Their work was shoddy, their supervision of subcontractors was virtually nonexistent. We have had nothing but problems with the work. They failed to deliver and the followup was terrible,. Their unprofessional conduct caused us delays and money. I wish we had never hired them

+ -1 moreWe had a great experience with Cabin John Builders. They were extremely professional, did excellent quality work and stayed on budget and schedule.
Description of Work: They worked with us to develop plans and fully renovate our newly purchased, older home. They renovated 5 bathrooms, the kitchen, reconfigured spaces to have a more open kitchen/family room, reconfigured master suite to include new bathroom and walk-in closet, finished our basement, added a mudroom, updated the electrical and added hvac.

+ -1 moreOverall - it was AMAZING!!! We have the home of our dreams because of CJB!!! We closed on our new home on Thursday and Friday morning they showed up with a dumpster and a demo team and fro five months, they never left - even working many late nights and weekends to keep us on time. A home renovation is fraught with stress and anxiety, but I can tell you that most all of my stresses and that of my wife was alleviated because of the constant work and communication that we received from Josh, Neal and Emily. I would talk to Neal almost every morning to see what was going on and to get an update. I would talk to Josh weekly to discuss budget and to make sure we weren't exceeding it unless we wanted to and my wife spoke with Emily almost daily to make sure that all the things that needed to get ordered were ordered and were being installed. Knowing that we were communicating with them this often and knowing that the three of them were talking constantly about what was going on in the home made me confident that everything was being done right and everything we wanted taken care of was. CJB will forever be doing any repair/renovations I do in the future and I can't stress this enough. Honest, trustworthy and amazing - that is the best way to describe the team from CJB. if you don't use them, its your own fault, because I'm living in my dream home only because of their hard work and dedication and ability to deliver. They are that good.
Description of Work: Cabin John Builders (CJB), completed a whole renovation for my wife and I. From the time we sold our town home to the time we purchased our new home and to the time we finally moved in, CJB was with us the whole way. My wife and I knew we needed to sell our town home and get into a single family home as we have a growing family, but the homes we were looking at were way to pricey and didn't have what we wanted or needed. We worked with the two owners, brothers, Josh and Neal, and recognized that we could buy a home that needed a little TLC and for less than we would ultimately pay for a "move-in ready" home, we could have all of our wants and have the home of our dream. Josh and Neal routinely came to open-houses with us showing us what could and couldn't be done to the homes we were looking at and ultimately, when my wife and I settled on the home we eventually bought, Josh and Neal knew exactly what we wanted to do and how best to do it. Working with CJB was a breeze. They took care of everything. They brought in their mother Emily, who is a phenomenal interior designer, and working with the three of them allowed us to pick all the materials and finishes that we wanted, but also keep us on budget and on time. From soup to nuts - they were with us and made our home renovation amazing. We now live in the home of our dreams and we couldn't have done it without CJB! If you are looking to do a home renovation project - large or small - and you don't use CJB, blame yourself because they are truly the best. Honest, friendly and they have the greatest team imaginable.
