The main line problem occurred during a period of a lot of in and out of town travel on my part, so I relegated attempting to resolve the main line problem to the back burner. I decided it would be addressed when I was back in town for an extended period. Then upon my most recent return, I found there was a Kitchen sink leak problem that apparently had been ongoing for some time, leaking from the fixture and into the under cabinet, that demanded immediate attention. After realizing the severity of the problem I consulted Angie's List, located several potential companies in my area, reviewed them, finally settled on W.H. Winegar & Son, and phoned them.My experience with them was first rate from the start. The person I spoke with on the phone (Lisa) asked me to describe the problems I had. I did so, and asked about the possiblity of an appointment as soon as possible. I was phoning late on a Wednesday morning, and was unavailable on Thursday. So I told her the first date I could be available was Friday. The only question she asked me was whether I was flexible concerning the time on Friday that a crew could come to me. I said I was. She promised to fit me in, and said I would get a call from the office early Friday morning, as soon as they were aware of the time frame that would be possible for a work crew to get to me.I was phoned Friday morning, about 7:30am to advise that a crew could get to me between 12 and 2. Then I received a call about 11:20 am to confirm that a crew was on its way and should get to me in about 30 minutes. As indicated, the crew (Jim and Skyler) arrived a little before 12 noon. They were quite courteous as well as competent. They repaired the issue with the main line valve rather quickly and then moved on to the Kitchen faucet and under cabinet situations. They diagnosed and repaired the kitchen faucet problem in spite of the fact that the placement was in an awkwad position under the cabinet and problematical. Furthermore, when it became evident that the faucet was not functioning and needed to be replaced, the team lead (Jim) provided a couple of options for me to choose from, that they had in their truck. And after that problem was diagnosed and those repairs completed, the team was reveiwing the work and status of the equipment in preparation to close the work order. It was at this time that they identified another problem that was not evident earlier. They determined there was another problem that needed to be addressed. The J Trap tubing linking into the garbage disposal unit also had a smal leak. Upon further examination it was determined that this tube had to be removed and replaced. This is the type of problem that could have gone unoticed until later on and necessitated another call for a plumber. Suffice it to say, not only was I pleased with the work that was done by the company's team on the problems that had been specified in my initiating call, I was also very pleased with their professionlism and attention to their craft, to examine and discern another issue that needed to be addressed, and resolve that situation, and to explain and show me pertinent details about the equipment as well as some added info about the plumbing fixtures for my knowledge, before closing the work order.I was extremely pleased with the competence and attention to detail of this team and by extension, of the W.H.Winegar company. I highly recommend them, and will definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: The company was called in to respond to two plumbing issues in my town home:1. Leak in the valve for the main line leading to the back porch.2. Leak in the kitchen faucet and sink line.

I have used this company twice now to try to isolate and repair a intermittant low rumble in my pipes. First time out, the technician spent a long time combing over possibilities trying to isloate a cause. Feeling it was the pressure valve, he suggested tweaking the outbound pressure first instead of a more costly replacement. This actually worked for a time and was able to get another year out of the valve. This time around, we replaced the valve. Technician actually remembered the issue from the last time he was here. Both times he was prompt, clean, and friendly. The replacement was lightining fast, and he was quiet and kept his workspace clean. Will definitely be using and recommending this company again in the future!

We were having water pressue issues in one of our bathroom and one of our toilets the handle had to be held down to get the toilet to flush. Jim came out to our house and was so nice and helpful. He was very patient when I was running a few minutes late and got to work immediately. He explained to me why I was having some sounds in my pipes and what could be done to fix it if I ever wanted. He fixed the shower by simply clearing some residue out of the shower head and showed me how to do it in the future. He also fixed the toilet very quickly. The whole job was done in 30 minutes with amazing professionalism and I could not be happier with the work Jim did. I will definitely use the company in the future and recommend to friends.

Excellent. I phoned for an appointment and received one that fit my schedule. Jim phoned first to tell me how long it would be before her arrived and arrived on time. He checked to make sure I needed a new insinkeraborr and installed one in the kitchen sink. He also gave me directions on how to keep the appliance in better working order than I had kept it previously. Then Jim cleaned out an outside drain. He also gave me tips on how to keep the drain clean. His manner was totally professional. He worked quickly and provided an invoice clearly showing what services were provided.

The plumber showed up within the scheduled timeframe. There were some complications with corroded pipes, but the plumber was able to handle these easily. He knew his job well and was very polite. He was finished within one hour and left no mess behind. The new faucets were nicely installed. It was a very neat and professional job. He was also able to fix the outdoor faucet leak with just a quick tightening of the fixture at no extra charge.

I called this company after having a bad experience with the company that installed my new gas range. He came the same day, exactly when I was told he would show up and was the epitome of helpfulness and professionalism. He checked my gas connections, changed the angle of the gas valve so the stove could sit flush with the wall and installed the anti-tip bracket that the previous installer had failed to do. I was more than pleased with his suggestions and his work. In addition, the person I talked to originally on the phone was also extremely helpful and acommodating. I would definitely call this company again.

Called circa 730AM Monday morning and got ahold of Terry immediately. He asked me some questions and said he could have someone out by 12PM. 30 minutes later (circa 8AM) Terry called back saying he could swap the schedule and send someone to my house immediately (between 9AM-10AM). That was great! The technician, Johnny, arrived at 9AM promptly. He was a younger guy, which I can't hold against him, except that his demeanor was not very professional. He was nice but just didn't inspire confidence. He ran the tub/toilet until he could see the backup, then agreed that it was a sewage drain clog and needed to be snaked. He removed the toilet in my bathroom and brought in his equipment. This took a while. After he had been snaking for a few minutes (that thing is loud!) he asked me to go to the adjacent bathroom to listen for the snake hitting the other toilet. It was, very loudly. Apparently the snake was just going into the other end of the junction, so he said he had to move to the upstairs bathroom and could route it straight down. This involved taking out the upstairs toilet. He had trouble getting the bolts off of the upstairs toilet, which isn't a surprise because it is old, and no fault of his own. Even so, I would have hoped that using the upstairs toilet would have been our first idea to avoid any possible misrouting of the snake, instead of taking up time setting up the equipment twice (not to mention taking out two toilets!). The snaking upstairs was again very loud, but I am guessing that is part of the process. I was watching the water level to see when it would go down, but it did not do so. The technician went out around the house and called me out to look at "what bad luck" he had. The snake had gone up the drain instead of down and out the vent on the roof of the house. At this point he had to call in another person so they could go up to the roof to snake straight down, and then my cat nearly jumped out the window he had left open on the second floor. Meantime he commenced to putting both my toilets back in. His backup arrived around 1115 or so, so I guess we didn't lose any time waiting for him (as the first tech was still busy putting toilets back in and stopped to go up to snake through the roof). They set up the equipment to snake through the exhaust on the roof pretty quickly, and in under an hour (around 1210) they told me they had cleared it. It did seem like a bit of guesswork because they just fished through enough of the snake that it would go all the way through to the sewer main. They also mentioned that they hit some resistance a few spots along the line and that it could have been a turn in the pipe, or a damaged pipe, or roots or something. No way to know unless it backs up again,a nd then they could run a camera down it. He finished putting in the toilet upstairs after his partner left, and was thoughtful enough to ask about a problem lining up the toilet on the new bolts that would have left an unfinished part of the floor exposed (new bolts and old bolts fit differently), and we were able to fix that before the new toilet went in. He very kindly replaced an old galvanized nipple in the bathtub that had been sitting there, free of charge. I was also not charged for the second toilet removal (one removal is included with their flat rate to snake). We were charged extra because they had to go up on the roof to get the snake down. Their flat rate for one toilet out and snaking is $575, something I would have appreciated knowing up front (though it is my own fault for not asking). Total $711- $25 angieslist coupon= $686 Total job time 9AM-130PM (4.5 hours)

Jim showed up on time, and had the parts needed for repair on his truck. I was very happy about this because I expected them to have to make several trips for parts, running up the hourly charge. This was not the case. Jim repaired the faucet, and explained the repair. He was fast and very nice to deal with. I will definitely call them again the next time I need a plumber. A great experience.

My master bedroom's toilet had a slow drain and the handle was broken. It wasn't flushing as expected and I was worried that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to replace. The plumber, my apologies that I've forgotten his name, came out on time and fixed the issue; replacing some parts on the toilet and snaking the drain. In addition, he took a look at a noise that my pipes were making when the hot water was used. He was very professional and personable and I would definitely use this company again.

The experience was wonderful. The service was prompt and efficient and the cost was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to call this company if I experience additional problems.
Description of Work: The plumber was on time and efficient. He fixed a leak in my bath tub and was required to cut out part of the ceiling in the floor below inn order to do the work. His work was neat and he left no mess. He also fixed a leaking pipe under my kitchen sink and explained what to do about the milldew that had formed underneath the sink. The front office was also very polite and efficient. I only had to wait a day for service. The cost was very reasonable; they spent almost two hours repairing my plumbing.

The company was friendly and professional. Scheduling was easy -- they tried to fit us in the same day, but since it wasn't an emergency, I wasn't concerned that they couldn't.The service men were punctual, neat and efficient. They needed to get a new part and would have to come back to install it, and they did -- when they said they would.I found the price a bit expensive, but then again, I don't have too many other plumbers to compare to.

A few months ago I purchased a new dishwasher and refrigerator but found that some plumbing work needed to be done before they could be installed properly. My plumber arrived the same day and was able to fix the dishwasher issue right away. When we went into the crawlspace to see about running a water line for the fridge, we were both surprised to find a puddle. As it turns out, my first floor bathtub was leaking. I then hired them to return a few days later to take care of that issue as well. They were able to bundle all the services together which saved me a bit on the pricing (still not inexpensive, but I felt it was fair). That issue was fixed and my appliances are now installed and running perfectly. I have since used them to fix another leak that I discovered and they fixed that very quickly as well.

Terry and the folks at Winegar & Son did an excellent job of quickly replacing our sewage ejection pump system. They came out the same day called (Thursday) to diagnosis the situation. They responded with a rough price by the end of the day and also communicated that it would not be able to be done on Friday due to the lead time to get material, but they would be on-site first thing Monday to replace the system. We received a final price and contract on Friday and work began first thing Monday. By a little after noon on Monday the system was up and running to the relieve of the household. I checked on pricing with folks I know in the construction business and they said the pricing was excellent considering they were using top of the line pumps and controller for the system. I highly recommend this business. Paul

Called late Monday afternoon with leaking water heater. Terry, the owner, who was still in his truck quickly called for availabilty at supplier and then called back after 5:00 (still in on the job, from his truck) with qoutes. He said he would be able to replace the next day but needed to get back to the office to figure out schedule for his company and time of installation. He would call 7:30 in the morning with time. He did as he said and called at 7:30 with an early morning appointment. Jim and his assistant showed up about 9:00 and commenced work. Jim was exceptionally pleasant. After a while another plumber showed up who helped with draining the old unit and getting it on the truck. He left with the assistant. Jim stayed with no lunch until 2:00 when he completed the job. He did a thorough job sticking to details .

Jim and Skyler were punctual, pleasant, and EXTREMELY neat. I can't stress that enough. There was little or no clean up for me, which was something I had not experienced before in the past. When I had a question about something after the fact, they came out immediately and addressed it. I rarely see such good customer service and I've come not to expect it so I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend Winegar & Sons Plumbing and Heating. Since the Angie's list seal was what prompted me to call Winegar & Sons, I decided to join Angie's list so I can find equally excellent contractors for other work I intend to do on my home.
Description of Work: The reason I called them in the first place was because I saw the Angie's list seal on their truck. I had already spoken with another plumber and was not happy with their responsiveness or their price quote. I needed new risers for my shower. The ones that were there were galvanized steel which is not desirable. They found a very efficient and cost effective way to reroute previously capped off copper to complete the work. We needed a new diverter, faucets, and shower head. We also wanted to replace the old commode with a new water saving model, and snake out the drains in both the sink and shower.
