Since I called this morning, they were booked solid but the dispatcher kept calling me to let me know they are trying to get someone to at least see where the problem lay and eventually he found a plumber who could come by and he was courteous and took the time to explain what could be the problem. He asked if I want him to open the ceiling to make sure but I declined the offer.

Since the drywall ceiling had already collapsed from the weight of the water, Jonnie had easy access to see what happened and why. He said the cold water supply line to the upstairs island sink had broken from freezing. At first he thought that there must be some nearby outside hose bib that was the source of the cold. He looked around and noted that this water line ran directly under the upstairs kitchen stovetop downdraft vent that vents directly to the outside of the house. The tube was very cold and very cold air was back between the joists where the ceiling was still intact and where the vent runs. He said that it was the pipe freezing that caused the break. I asked him what to do to prevent in the future and he suggested that I get some flexible winterizing-type tubing like the kind that was wrapped around my hot water line (he said he didn't have any with him but that I could get it at Home Depot) to wrap around the water line between it and the vent. He said that they sell stuff that has adhesive on it so that you can just wrap it around and the sticky stuff will hold it on the pipe. Water service was restored in about 1/2 hour. Jonnie was great. He explained things well and answered our questions and was very professional--not to mention very efficient.

Once the technician came to my home, he was very professional and courteous. He quickly found and addressed the problem. Additionally, he ensured that both the sump pump and replaced pipe were working properly.

From Lisa that I talked to over the phone to our repairman, Jim, that came out I can't say enough about how wonderful this company was! Lisa added me to their list of waiting clients, there were plenty of burst pipes going around, and then called to let me know that the repairman was on his way and he arrived right on time. Jim was so wonderful and easy-going - he even accepted a gift of a chip from our toddler (who blew him kisses when he had to leave) - he quickly identified the problem and was even able to suggest follow-up service repair when it turned out to be an issue with an appliance. We will DEFINITELY be calling them again for any problems in the future!!!

I highly recommend this company. He came a little late because of bad weather and traffic (4:23, service window was 2:00-4:00). Worked steadily and was done in an hour. Did a very thorough job and explained to me what was happening while performing maintenance. Getting one old bolt off was quite difficult (that's why I got professional help). He, Jim, finally had to use a powersaw to cut through the bolt. Very tricky because there is the danger of cracking the porcelain tank or bowl (which would result in the need for a whole new toilet - big bucks!). Used company two years ago for an outside faucet. Difficult job because of crawl space issues, but he did clever things to make the job easy and totally successful.

They were timely, courteous and on the ball. They didn’t have the part I needed, but they had a truck in the area so they dropped it off. It was a good quality faucet at a good price.

We called Winegar when we noticed a slow leak coming from behind our dishwasher. We set up an appointment. Terry came on time, listened to our symptoms, found the leak, fixed it quickly, cleaned up after himself and was out of there in about an hour. He was very knowledgeable and we would happily have them back out if we have any plumbing needs. This is our third use of Winegar for different issues. Fair price and good work is always done.

Very professional .Having spotted the leak right away, fixed it quickly and before he finished,said, always check for other leaks. He did, and he found another very, very small one which would have become a big one in time. Fixed it in no time.All done in less than an hour. Vwery pleased with the service and the price.

I had a great customer service experience. Jim and Diego were very polite and explained the process from beginning to end. I will definitely use them again in the future. They arrived early and repaired the issue in about 30 minutes. Jim also shared helpful information on how to purchase a new toilet for our future remodeling projects. These guys are top notch.

Very professional and speedy, and more than happy to provide me with information I needed to do some small repairs myself--in this case the proper size of a diverter spout for a bathtub faucet. This saved me some money.

Great work, second time using them

Great they were responsive and quick. Removed old heater and cleaned up the mess. Gave us tips and info about maintenance that we didn't previously know (despite 20 yrs of home ownership). Will use again and they are now my go-to plumber for small jobs too. New heater is smaller than the old one (which is a plus for energy savings) and despite having two teens we have never run out if hot water since the installation!

I received a prompt call back to schedule the appointment and gave me the background on who would be doing the work. Jim and Diego arrived on time (called ahead 45 minutes) and did not need to be asked to take off their shoes. They were skilled, pleasant to deal with and very time efficient. Could not have been a better experience. Winegar will be my "go to" plumber in the future.

It took a while to get the appointment scheduled, but once the time window was set everything went smoothly. I was told that they would do the installation between 8 a.m. and noon, and that I would be called before they came over. At about 7:40 I got a call saying they would be coming soon. Jim and Bernard arrived about 8:15. They were friendly, courteous, and professional, and the installation was done in under an hour. They explained some of the new features of the unit and asked if I had any questions. I would definitely use this plumber again. My only criticism is that it was somewhat confusing to reach them by phone. I called the first number that was listed on Angie's list on a Saturday and got a voice message saying that the office was closed and the call would be returned during normal business hours. A second number is given, but neither is marked as being an after-hours or emergency number, and the voice message didn't give an alternative to call. Their website states that they do after-hours emergency service, but it's not clear how to reach them after-hours.

We got bids from three places. Winegar was the only place that we got the bid from the same person who would do the work. He was relatively quick getting back to us with quotes for both high efficiency standard efficiency. And finally, his price was better than anyone else's. We are glad we choose to hire him. The installation went smoothly over two days plus a follow-up visit to make a final repair and for the county inspection. He even emailed me this evening (about a week after the installation) to check whether the gas company had fixed a problem with their line (they had).

I reached out for a quote on 10/29 via Angi List site. Go a message same day from "Terry" saying someone would contact me on 10/30 - I had left 2 phone numbers. No reply. On 11/3 I send another message - still no response. I chose them and two others who had high ratings on Angi's List. Only one has responded.

They were very timely in calling me back about the nature of the repair and setting up an appointment. They arrived on time and began to assess the nature of the problem. As it turned out, they could not complete the repairs in the time allowed. That was actually to my advantage as it allowed me time to go purchase the necessary replacement parts at a much lower cost. He explained to me what I really needed, where to go get it, what manufacture of the parts needed and the price I should stay within. I really appreciated that information as pumping fixtures can be very expensive. Upon arrival for the completion of the repairs, work was done completely and now all is in working order. It was also done in the timeframe given. That was important as Time and Material charges are not cheap. I was very appreciative of the effort he put forth. I did explain that I wanted him to make sure that the work was done in a quality manner. The gentleman that came was willing to show and explain to me all that he was doing while he was completing the task. I know that some times, this does not sit well with repair people but this was not an issue. The price is never what you want it to be, but because I am a Angie's list member, I received an $25.00 discount off the total price of the service.

The did a great job but I think they are a little pricy.

I thought the job was well done, but the $525 flat fee seemed a bit steep, but with the quick response, Jim's honesty and his will to solve the problem I think it was worth the fee.

Our previous gas dryer was beyond repair, and so I purchased a new gas dryer at one of the local big box stores off the floor on a Sunday. I used Angie's List to identify four or five plumbers that seemed to have experience w/ gas appliances, and I called them all on Sunday. I heard back early on Monday from Winegar. They were easy to communicate with, and offered to have someone come out as soon as Tuesday, when I had the old dryer disconnected. It was quick and the service man offered to hold off on billing (thus avoiding the minimum fee) until he returned to install the new dryer, when it arrived. The new dryer arrived later than expected from the big box retailer, but I had no problem rescheduling the install service with Winegar. The same service man returned and did a great job of installing the dryer, including adding a water line for the steam feature. He was consistently prompt and polite, and I appreciated his willingness to call me at work when he was about 45 minutes away from my house so I could return home to let him in. We have never used Winegar but I would definitely use them again!

One of the toilets was starting to leak and we decided to replace the parts on all of the toilets. They gave us the best quote over the phone out of three companies from Angie’s List. They were responsive and punctual. They had all of the parts and equipment needed with them on the trucks. One technician came for the work and completed the job in about five hours. He cleaned up well after the job and left no mess behind. We got very good work at a reasonable price.

Contacted W H Winegar Sunday evening and received a call by 6:45 am the following morning. Time was coordinated and Jim Swingle (hope I got your name right) showed up as promised. Jim was knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. After clearing the clogged pipes, he provide clear instructions on what to do next. Very pleased with the service. Highly recommend! The plumber was professional and did a good job. My parents were happy with his service and definitely will hire them again or refer them to my relatives and friends.

They are really wonderful. The guys are just wonderful. They are going to put all the plumbing in my house. Overall experience, I will give them an A all across the board.

Do NOT use Winegar for any main drain work. We have a main drain sewer blockage and backup. Winegar charged a very high amount just to do the piping of the drain, which did NOT fix the problem, but when they left, they said that the drain was cleared and ready to go and they had solved the problem. We went out of town a couple days. When we returned and used water again, the drains overflowed again. Winegar returned and snaked it again, and again they told me the drain was fine, no problems, they had cleared the problem this time. The very next morning, the drain overflowed again in our basement. So clearly the problem was not fixed, although they kept telling me it was. We called Winegar. One of the owners, Mr. Winegar, was very rude on the phone to me, and he said they would not come out "for free" to "fix" the problem "again" or to "tell me what was wrong." So, after spending nearly $600, Winegar refused to tell me what was wrong with the drain and refused to return to snake it properly. They said I would have to pay the same amount AGAIN for them to come snake it and put a camera down to see what the problem was. Although THAT is what I PAID them to do in the first place, but they refused to complete the job without me paying that amount again. Mr. Winegar was extremely argumentative, condescending, and rude to me on the phone. I refused to use them again since they would not complete the job that I had paid them to do in the first place. I called ANOTHER company. PLEASE NOTE that OTHER companies WILL snake your drain as many times as needed to fix the problem AND WILL ALSO put a camera down the drain to see if there are any problems FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE. Please do NOT waste your time with this company. There are many other companies like one that rhymes with moto mooter that will use the camera for FREE, and that are much kinder and nicer. The OTHER company told me to call as soon as I saw any leak again, and they would keep snaking it (FOR NO EXTRA CHARGES) until it was cleared. But, they only had to snake it one time to clear it. They were here at my house much longer and obviously did a much better job snaking the drain. The OTHER company was able to fix it and snake it properly and completely. And they charged LESS for MORE WORK (included the camera, and included any additional snaking as needed to fix the problem). ON TOP of all of that, as if I didn't already have a bad enough experience with Winegar, I saw today that my credit card was charged OVER the amount that I signed and agreed to on the receipt. I was charged $550 when it was supposed to be $525 with the Angie's list discount. I called Winegar to get them to fix it. What a surprise, the woman who answered was rude, and argued with me about the charge, and would have to "call me back" and would not fix the problem until she "checked some things." She argued with me about how that must be the right amount, even though I explained to her that I am holding the receipt in my hand with the $550 minus the $25. It is only $25 off, but I am hoping you guys will read this and realize how rude, unhelpful, stingy, and simply inconsiderate this company is.
