Description of Work: Jeffrey came right on time to look at the tree I needed trimmed. Our meeting was friendly and to-the-point. By luck, the crew ended up coming out the same day, since it was such a quick job. I was quite pleased with the work done and the cleanup afterwards. They mulched the large material and raked and picked up debris. | |My only suggestion for improvement would be better communication between the person organizing the job and the crew doing the job. I had to re-explain what I wanted done, when I thought Jeffrey would have passed that information along. | |All in all, A+. Thank you very much.

Description of Work: Trimmed our trees while we were out of town. after talking on the phone, we trusted them that much. They were able to accommodate our tight schedule & do it within 1 week. They arrived early & were exceedingly friendly. The actually cut more than I would have liked on some trees but, since they are the experts, I defer to their expertise

Description of Work: We had 7 trees taken down and this work including stump grinding. In the back yard we had a 13" maple, 27" maple, and 36" maple next to the property line and mostly overhanging our roof and the next door neighbor's roof. In addition we had a 27" oak that was surrounded by several large holly trees. All taken down without problem. In the front yard and under power lines/telephone lines/etc we had 3 very large oak trees removed requiring the use of cranes: a 48" oak, and 2 additional 36" oak trees. All work was completed within a day and a half, could have been done in the same day ( I wanted my husband to see the rotted tree stump so I asked the crew to come back the next day which they did) Most of the wood was ground up, they did remove large sections of the oak trees intact which was ok with us. The crew was professional, no slacking off, worked continuously. The only complaint came from a neighbor who felt that the crew should have positioned their crane in a different way so the street was not blocked off (the crew was willing to stop and move the equipment). The trees were overhanging the powerlines, and i was impressed that the crane operator was able to get huge sections of the trees taken down, and the crew worked on the sections at the ground level. I got several estimates from other tree companies--to get a similar price, we would have to wait for all the leaves to fall, ask our neighbors to let them drive the equipment across their lawns, let the crews drop the tree limbs onto the ground rather than have them lowered, not get the stumps ground, etc. I should mention--some of the estimators who looked at the trees told us that the trees were not healthy, should be taken down immediately etc. Of the trees: only 1 oak tree was diseased with a rotten/hollow interior, and of the maples only 1 was diseased and should have come down. Jeff from Services Unlimited was accurate when he came to give the estimate--take down the maples since they were too close to the house, take down the diseased Oak tree--the others were optional and really didn't need to come down. He did not push any work, said he was willing to do what the home owner wanted.

Description of Work: We have known this company for 15 years and counted on them to remove very large difficult trees from our yard in difficult locations near the house. They even responded with a crane the same day a storm felled a tree on the house. Their clean-up is thorough and there access to the property has been careful. The one very negative comment listed regarding this company represents a hostility between neighbors, not a reflection on Berra's services.

Description of Work: Mr. Berr came over immediately to give an estimate on taking down two large trees. The job was completed, as promised, the following day. They had the right equipment, worked rapidly and efficiently, cleaned up afterwards, and the charge of $1800 seemed fair for the job. They have a former circus performer who climbs the highest trees who is amazingly agile. Mr. Berr is a bit brusque, but does a good job, and I would certainly hire him again.
