Four (4) movers arrived within the promised timeframe and immediately set to work readying my baby grand piano for the move. The workers were efficient, professional, and handled my piano with care. I was impressed with how well the workers performed their job as a team, especially when negotiating several steps and setting up the piano in my new place.

This was a very smooth move. Johnson's Piano Moving was prompt with the pickup and the delivery. They called to let me know when they were close to my location.

I wanted to move my piano into climate-controlled storage while I was having new flooring installed in my home, so I found Johnson’s Piano Moving based on their excellent online reviews. Ted from Johnson’s worked with me to have my piano moved into their climate-controlled storage for a week during the installation. My house has a side entrance which made the move pretty challenging, but the excellent crews who moved the piano out and back in were very creative in accommodating the challenge with the front door and they took great care not to damage my railings on the stoop. I highly recommend Johnson’s Piano Moving!

The work was very smooth. The movers picked up the piano on time, and called me 30 minutes before arriving at my place. Overall it was very smooth, prompt, on time, and careful. I would recommend the company to other peoples without any hesitation.

Excellent. They called 20 minutes before arriving to give us a head's up. They arrived, were pleasant and polite, moved the piano into the truck, out of the truck and into my house, all without a scratch, we paid them and it was done. Easy peasy, within 30 minutes. If I ever need to move a piano again, I'll use them, but I will also recommend them to my neighbors.

Both moves couldn't have been smoother. The crew brought all the necessary equipment and staff to enable this change. The lower level piano had to be taken outside and rolled around and in the front door. I couldn't be more pleased with the care and expertise from this company.

I received a prompt reply to my initial email regarding my inquiry. After that, I received no responses for my questions about time frame of delivery. I had also inquired about an alternate date as backup but I was quoted a price for the alternate date. When I clarified the original date, I received a snarky email. After finally booking the original date, I was told to email the day before to confirm time frame. I emailed first thing in the morning on the day before but hadn't heard back, so I emailed again in the afternoon and still never heard back. At around 7 PM, I received a voicemail and an email reply that we're set and an apology about not having access to email, which I don't understand since it's a business and he was expecting my email (and we all have access to email on our cell phones this day and age.) My husband received the piano and was pleased with the delivery, efficiency, and professionalism of the movers. If we are to consider another move with them, they need to improve communication.

Many thanks for doing an excellent job on a complex piano move. Ted, in the front office, responded very quickly to get the job details, provide a quote and schedule a moving date. The three-member crew —Marcus, Ryan and Alex—arrived right on time on move day. Ted joined the crew and they finessed my upright piano down a very tight flight of stairs, lifted over a banister and out to the truck. The piano made it out into rural Virginia, with the last three miles on gravel roads and into the woods. After the long journey, my piano arrived safe and sound. Johnson’s Piano Movers and their upbeat, professional moving crew did an outstanding job from start to finish.

We donated a piano to the Salvation Army. Even though given specifics, the 2 men and a truck sent by the SA to pick it up were unprepared: no dolly or ramp for easily moving the piano down two steps. I contacted Angie’s List for piano movers and was given a list of 4 possibilities. Johnson’s contacted me by phone within one-half hour of my request (on a Friday afternoon) and gave an estimate over the phone. I complied with the recommendation that I get other estimates: 2 companies responded by email by the following Monday. The first was not located in our area, and the second gave a written estimate more than double Johnson’s price. Johnson’s was able to schedule the pick up for that same Monday. Three men came promptly, were prepared with a ramp, dolly, and furniture padding. It took them not more than 15 minutes to get the piano and bench out of the house and onto the truck. They were efficient and courteous. Would definitely hire them again.

The actual moving of the piano went well. The movers were on time, a bit early in fact, and were clearly experienced in moving pianos by the speed with which they moved. They were very quick and the piano was delivered without any damage to the piano. Where they fell completely flat and is why I gave lower ratings in some categories is that they left a mess of mud in the home of the pick up location and the home of the drop off location. There was zero acknowledgement of the mud tracked all over the carpet from both their shoes and the rolling plank on which the piano was placed. There was not a single apology for any of the mud even after we commented on it. In fact, I stood in shock as I watched one mover wipe his dirty shoes on my tile foyer floor (not the doormat on the outside of my front door) before proceeding to step on my carpet with the same muddy shoes. He clearly understood that his shoes were dirty. I've had plenty of technicians come into my home for various reasons in all kinds of bad weather where opportunities to track mud and rain were presented, but the technician took successful steps to ensure that none of it was tracked into my home. The complete ignorance and lack of professionalism is quite disappointing.
