My experience with Johnson's Piano Movers was excellent all the way through. They answered the phone, called me back with an estimate in a timely manner, arrived on time and were very careful with the piano and the other items they moved. I would highly recommend them!

We had used this company twice before, and were pleased both times. This move went very smoothly too. They called in advance as they promised, and were finished in no time. Very professional and careful - I let them know that my piano is about 80 years old, it needed TLC. We were very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: I needed my 5' baby grand piano moved to our new house. There were less than 8 stairs on both houses.

Everything went great. They picked up as scheduled and delivered as scheduled. At both ends, they did a good job of protecting the piano and the house. Payment was exactly what we'd agreed on in advance. Highly recommend them.

Service was just ok. The female who initially took my call and scheduled my appointment was very professional and worked with me to schedule the move on the date I needed. The movers however, weren't so professional. I was given a two hour window and they were late. I had to call the company to see where they were. They didn't initiate the courtesy call to say they wouldn't make it within the window of time I'd already waited out. The movers did not apologize or make mention of their tardiness. The first two who entered the house didn't even speak. The move itself was fine, piano made it to the destination without incident. I need a "maybe" button for using them again.

We enthusiastically recommend Johnson's Piano Moving. They were prompt, professional, and efficient. They gave an estimate, and they stuck to it. We felt our piano was in good hands from start to finish. They clearly are experts in piano moving and have been doing this for a long time. We are SO glad we did not trust our piano to regular movers.

Everything went well and I would use them again.
Description of Work: John'son's moved a standup piano from our living room down and out to the driveway and through the garage into a basement room. Punctual, professional, done well, and fast. Used a rubber wheeled dolly so no scratches on hardwood floors, and slides down steps so no worrying about steps breaking. They charged based on dimensions of piano and how many steps there were in the path. I have no idea if price is high or low. I picked them because of the reviews and their scores - I wanted it done right with no problems - which it was.

I was very impressed with this company - I had called after purchasing a piano that needed to be moved in a few days before the seller moved to his new military post. Even though it was short notice, Ted was able to make the scheduling work - I called on Saturday, and he had a delivery time set up for Tuesday! The movers were incredibly efficient, but still took great care with the piano and it was moved without any issues at all. They were also very fast, too - maybe an hour from start to finish! Well worth the service fee, which was also very competitive - when the movers collected slightly higher than what was quoted, Ted was quick to admit the mistake and refunded the difference immediately. I would definitely recommend this company.

Johnson's Piano Movers did an outstanding job. They arrived promptly, went right to work. From arrival to completion, they took no more than 30 minutes. Three guys, with Ted at the helm, went about their job efficiently and in good spirits. Couldn't ask for anything more!

The job went off without a hitch. I was given a two hour window (between 12 and 2) for pick-up in Bowie, and they arrived promptly at 12 noon. They called 15 minutes ahead to let us know of their impending arrival. Within 15 minutes, the piano was safely wrapped and loaded onto the truck for the ride to Frederick. Upon their arrival in Frederick, they called 15 minutes ahead to let us know they were nearby. Unloading the player piano onto the porch (about 3 feet off the ground) and into the house was a little more complicated than the pick up, but again, within 15 minutes the piano was in the house and in place. The second piano was removed from the living room and in the basement just as fast. A quick, clean move. Very conscience about handling the pianos and guiding them through doorways and over thresh holds, not a mark on the doors or walls. They handled the pianos with great respect and care.
Description of Work: This was a two part job. First, Johnson's Piano Movers were hired to move a HEAVY upright player piano from Bowie, Maryland to Frederick, Maryland. The player piano was picked up in Bowie from the first floor and delivered onto the front porch, through the front door, a short hall, another door and into the living room. Secondly, the second piano was then moved from the living room to the truck through the same entry way, driven around the side of the house, and delivered to the walk-in basement.

Moved our antique piano with great care to both the piano and the house. They were careful not to bump any walls or scratch my wood floors. They made moving that heavy beast to the new house seem so simple. The lady over the phone who gave me the quote was very polite. She and down to earth. She was very upfront about any additional charges that may occur, which were none in my case. The movers were actually early, and very polite. Will definitely use them again if we end up moving the piano again!

Description of Work: Moved piano from my parents home to my home about a 15 min. Ride away. No stair cases involved just the front stoop at both homes. Seemed to wrap the piano up securely and were on time in the window they gave. My parents had no complaints on their end other.

I tried another well-known mover first, and warned him that the destination would be difficult, with a narrow, turning stairway. Offered to pay him to visit first and make sure the piano would go in. He assured me he "knew the area", would have no problem, and would not need a prior visit. He hauled the piano there, and then declared it would not go in. So he brought it back to my home at my insistence - after telling me he would put in it storage for me. (And no, I did not pay anything.) Selected Johnson's from this list, and called Ted. He agreed to check first, for what I considered a reasonable fee of $40. He was on time, professional, measured carefully, and said he could move the piano. The move took place on schedule, with great care, impressive crew, and via the staircase that had been declared impassible. All for the same price quoted by the first mover. I heartily recommend Johnson's, and would use the company again for any piano move.

They came out on time, were very careful and moved my piano from my living room to my rec room downstairs. The had to take the piano outside and move it across grass, down a slight slope. They had all the right equipment to do this and were very professional. I would definitely use this company again.

The company was extremely responsive. They called me back with a quote and to schedule the work within a few hours. The quote seemed a little bit high for the quick job, but definitely not unreasonable. I didn't get many quotes, so I can't compare. They were very pleasant and flexible with their schedule, coming in the late-afternoon on a Friday during the holiday season. They started work right on time and were prompt and efficient. They appeared to use all the right equipment - dollies and ramps. We didn't see any moving blankets at the destination, but I suspect they used them in the truck. The Piano arrived without any scratches or other damage. The owner came to supervise the two young guys who did the work. He talked with my wife about placement of the piano exactly where we wanted it. They were quick, efficient and professional. We'd hire them again for sure.

I called Johnson Piano on Monday and they performed the work on Wednesday. I had a specific time window that they could get into the home, and they were on time and met the time deadline. Johnson's stuck to the originally quoted price, and there was not one scratch on my mother's brand new piano. I highly recommend them.

This company is excellent. I contacted them by e-mail, and then e-mailed a few more times to discuss the detail, and each time they e-mailed me back very quickly. They came on time, were very courteous, delivered the piano and 2 bookcases in perfect condition even though they had slate steps to contend with, and helped me dispose of one other item. I highly recommend them, and would definitely use them again.

Needed a piano moved from our friend's house to ours. Phone and email contact with Ted at Johnsons established a price, date, and time quickly, efficiently and convenient to all three parties in the transaction. I had a window and the movers called me when they were on their way to my friend's house. At my house, they were courteous, efficient and careful - they had ramps on which to take the piano off the truck and also ramps to put on our outdoor steps to transport the piano into the house. The piano was covered. Three men were involved and it needed all three. A good experience. We are piano-sitting for three years, I will call Johnsons again when it's time for the piano to go home!
