1. Problem: leak and mold in basement due to bad seal under toilet on floor above it. John Rullo and Kim Wilson removed removed seal under toilet; ran air cleaner, dehumidifier machines. They removed shelving unit and some drywall in basement, but did not replace it. They failed to return to finish the job. 2. Problem: water in basement corner area at bottom of stairs. They removed drywall from sections of two walls (one 3 1/2' wide, floor to ceiling, the other a smaller section (about 2 sq. ft.); removed pieces of wood and insulation from the 3 1/2 ft.' section; ran a dehumidifier; created a temporary fix with plastic sheeting outside home; brought pebbles for drainage. They took lots of pictures and promised me a CD with the pictures, but they did not deliver on that either. They promised a detailed description of all the work they would do, but they didn't produce it. They took a sample of flooring that I wanted and said they would try to obtain matching flooring, but they failed to return it or match it.. They made many appointments that they failed to keep. On one occasion they promised to work at my home for four days straight, but they didn't show up for any of them, and they would not return calls. Payment: They were paid by the insurance company for work already done on problem #1. In addition, I paid them $2000 for other jobs agreed on, and they installed kitcen floor tile, put in a new toilet seal and moved the toilet back into place. They also did work described in Probem #2. They promised to fix the new creaks from the tile they put in the kitchen, but they didn't return to do it. They never installed the pebbles they brought for drainage. From my first dealings with them, it was clear that I would have to go out of town for an extended period through the winter. It was understood that they might not be able to finish everything before I left and that more work would be done when I came back. I called them as soon as I was back in town in Spring 2012. Again, they would not return calls. The work that they actually did was fine, but they didn't finish what they started. I have a shelving unit missing, drywall missing, a creaky floor and two bags of pebbles.
Description of Work: Two projects: 1. Problem: leak and mold in basement due to bad seal under toilet on floor above it. 2. Problem: water in basement corner area at bottom on stairs.

Response from Frederick Mold Pro
Regarding the member - This started out as a mold inspection and upon the inspection it was determined by us that the cause of the microbial growth was due to a leaking toilet in the 1st floor powder room. After the member contacted her insurance company they determined that this would not be a covered claim however we asked if we could speak to her insurance company and after a number of phone calls and meetings with the adjuster we were able to have the work covered by the insurance company. the member was paid directly by the insurance company and at no time did we receive any payments from the insurance company for the work that we did. In addition we agreed to work off of the adjusters pricing and not the estimate that was provided to the member. ALL work that was covered by the insurance company was completed to both the members satisfaction as well as the insurance companies satisfaction and pictures of the completed work were provided to the insurance company. This work was paid for directly by the member from funding she received from the insurance company. In regards to the additional work the member requested - There was a secondary area within the basement that also had microbial growth which was caused by the neighbors flower bed. The member was provided an estimate for the additional remediation work and this estimate included discounts because we were already doing work for her and to help her out financially. Normally we require a deposit before providing remediation services however we did not ask the member for a deposit and went ahead with the remediation because she wanted to contact her neighbor regarding the damage. The remediation work was completed in full to the members satisfaction and to date we still have not received payment for the completed work. In addition to the remediation work we also installed a barrier along the outside of the foundation and new drainage rock to keep additional water from coming into the members basement until she was able to speak to her neighbor. Through the entire process we took the time to fully explain to the member the work we were doing, any costs associated with the work and additional work that needed to be done. Once the member spoke to her neighbor it was understood that the neighbor would cover half the cost of any repairs needed on the members property. A few days later, after we completed the temporary repairs we were told that the neighbor no longer was going to cover half the cost and the member had to get ready to leave for Florida, which is where she spends the cold winter months due to a skin condition and she would be gone for a minimum of 4 - 6 months. the memebr left without us receiving payment for the additional work that was done or any instructions on proceeding with any additional work. Before she left for Florida the property was secure and made water tight as to not cause any additional damage while she was gone. We did not proceed with any additional work without the authorization of the memebr and we never heard back from her when she returned from Florida even after leaving messages and sending her a number of emails. We pride ourselves on customer service and can provide any number of references from completely satisfied customers that we have done work for over the years. In addition we work with all of our clients including weekend and night hours, payment options and reduced rates in order to provide complete remediation services and a health living environment!!
