We had an excellent experience with JCabido. We hired them to completely remodel the three bathrooms (2 full, one half) in our 1920s craftsman bungalow. They did an excellent job. They were there every single day working on the project from the day it started until the work was completed and stayed in constant communication via text and e-mail (anyone who has had work done on their home know that that is rare and a blessing!). They took care to point out issues discovered in the course of the work (e.g., with plumbing, framing) and did not cut any corners, ensuring the work they performed was of high quality down to the studs. They also had exceptional attention to detail in the finishes of the project. For example, they pointed out to us when we got a batch of tile from two different lots that had slightly different coloring to ensure we didn't end up with any aesthetic issues in our half bath. We were living in our house the entire time the remodel took place and they were great about cleaning up every day and containing the messes (especially important to me because I am pregnant). Overall they were friendly, kind, helpful, talented, and made us feel taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone. In fact, I already recommended them to a friend to replace her roof deck, also in NW DC, and they did an exceptional job there, as well.

Bernard and his team were great! We did an extensive renovation: new kitchen, added a half bath, removed a load bearing wall, etc. They were always really nice and professional. Whenever a problem came up, they worked hard to find a solution, and we’re really pleased with the quality of work done. They did the work about a year ago now, and everything still looks and works great.

Great. They showed up on time, got to work, made steady progress, finished early, did not cut corners (except failed to cover garden plants with tarps, but they cleaned up afterwards. Bottom line: looks great and adds years to our porch and prevents rot.

I had a major retaining wall project. The wall was 80ft long by 3ft high and ran under the corner of my house which required underpinning. The guys were professional, clean and efficient. They started the project in mid-March just as the pandemic shut down jitters started. The team worked with me to keep safe and monitor the situation. They finished on time and did extra work (needed to removed rotten wood under house before underpinning). Although they were more expensive than some of the other bids, their work and service was worth it. I highly recommend Bernard and team for major projects.

I am thoroughly, absolutely pleased with JCabido Remodeling! In late 2018, they remodeled my bathroom with outstanding results and immediately planned to use them to remodel my kitchen in late 2019. They fully executed my vision, found creative solutions to problems encountered, super professional, great workmanship, and everyone from corporate office, to the project manager to workmen were a pleasure to work with. In short, I LOVE MY BATHROOM and I LOVE MY KITCHEN - both remodeled by JCabido Remodeling.

This project went better than we could have hoped. Bernard and Gui were responsive from day 1. We scheduled the work to take place mostly while we were on a two-week vacation (since it's our only bathroom) and the crew thoughtfully sent SMS updates with photos every few days. Unexpected impediments were dealt with collaboratively, they worked very well around our 100-year-old house and its lack of strict 90° angles, and our home was left in fine shape! Work took a bit longer than expected, but it was due solely to an unforeseeable issue that they resolved with great professionalism. I would not hesitate to hire this outfit again! We're pondering a shed dormer across the rear of our bungalow to enlarge two bedrooms and add a master bath; if finances allow and we decide to pull the trigger, they will be our first call.

My experience the JCabido team was outstanding. The team is highly skilled and efficient with excellent customer service. My project manager, Gui, kept me informed throughout the process, answered my questions and made minor changes without hesitation. The craftsmanship of Rob's crew was exceptional. AND...they completed the project on budget and on time. The JCabido team went above and beyond on this project. When my home had partial power due to a tree issue, the electrician who installed the GFI outlets in my bathrooms returned to my home on the weekend - after a family event - to return my home to full power. He didn't have to do that. The funny thing is, I interviewed JCabido Remodeling two years ago for my basement remodel. I chose another company because their estimate was slightly lower. What a mistake! That project ended up becoming a nightmare. From now on, I'm a JCabido fan. I will work with them on all of my future renovation projects.

A schedule was provided that took advantage of my travel plans to perform demolition work while I was gone. They continued on that schedule during floor replacement, wall and cabinet painting, countertop and backsplash installation, and appliance and lighting installation. They completed the work essentially on time. Their design recommendations were good and the workmanship was excellent. Very easy to work with.

The whole process was perfect. they finished the work and kept in constant contact with me. We are still in contact.

Our rec room had an old, discolored drop ceiling, about 25% of which had literally dropped about 4 years ago. We cleaned up the mess and had just been dealing with the unsightliness since. But we are now preparing to become foster parents (gulp), and we were certainly not going to pass a home safety inspection like that. JCabido removed the remaining old ceiling, cleaned up, rewired some lights that had been wired in a completely illogical manner, removed the also-unsightly long fluorescent light fixtures, put in a new ceiling and painted it, installed new lights, and put back up the room's ceiling fan. When some cracks appeared in the new ceiling a couple weeks later, they came out within a few days, repaired the cracks, and repainted with no questions asked. It looks *so much better* in there -- much better than my mediocre pictures show. We would definitely hire them again.

It went great. JCabido listened to our needs/wants, and helped us jointly come up with a solution. Where it was possible they provided more cost-effective solutions. We were concerned about lead paint on window sills/frames. I thought we needed to strip and repaint them. They suggested just using lead-blocker paint, which was quicker, cheaper, and addressed our concerns. The custom cabinet work they did was great. A year later and we're very happy. They also stayed on time and even ahead of time, which was crucial for us. Upgrades to work were offered but without pressure. We took some and left others, but never felt like we were being up-sold. They've also come back for other projects, some of which are more of a handyman nature (roof repair, door frame repair, water damage, dryer duct work, gutter repair/replacement). Whatever minor miscommunications we've had have been handled completely professionally. I'm very satisfied with JCabido and would hire them again when we need to.

We are extremely pleased with Bernard and JCabido and would enthusiastically recommend them to you. We selected JCabido out of multiple competing proposals to remodel our bathroom. They weren't the absolute lowest price but they werer very competitive and, in our view, provided great value for the money. The project involved demolishing walls, framing new ones, running electrical lines and moving plumbing lines in the walls, and putting in entirely new fixtures and finishes. Bernard and his crew were very responsive and helpful. We were initially hesitant that they didn't have a showroom where we could see all the fixtures in person but quickly learned that it wasn't an issue at all. Bernard's team did a great job helping us find the right finishes for our preferences and we absolutely love the way the finished product looks. Construction itself was a very smooth process. It went right along the timeline the crew estimated for us and we were surprised how quickly it went from demolition dust to a brand new bathroom. The laborers were consistently polite and careful as they went through the rest of our house. We asked JCabido to pull permits for the job. A lot of other contractors we talked to were hesitant to do that because of how difficult permit inspections can be. JCabido was happy to do it, and all of their work easily passed inspections (the only problems the inspectors noted were things that had nothing to do with the bathroom remodeling project, like having out of date smoke detectors in completely different rooms, and Bernard was very helpful at giving us tips to solve those issues). We are very pleased with the final product, and while we're hoping we won't need to redo our kitchen or bathrooms for a long time, if we do, we'll certainly go to JCabido first for the next one.

My husband and I are so happy with the work that J. Cabido did on our new house. From working with Bernard Cabido, who came to the house to give us an estimate and help use with design, down to the painters, J. Cabido has a great team. On price, they lined up with other estimates we got, but we trusted Bernard and are very glad we made the choice we did. My husband and I are very particular, and Bernard, Gui and the team took every direction to heart and with a smile, even when I know we were trying their patience. We had just bought our place and hired them for some big jobs - a master bath and powder room gut renovation and window replacement - but kept finding smaller things as we lived there. They were happy to add on little tasks, like fixing a hole in a wall, lifting the kitchen cabinets and fixing paint jobs. The work was great on the big stuff (the windows were installed very securely), but also the small things (the tile work was exceptional). We would definitely hire them again, and plan to do so soon, for any project large or small.

I am so happy that I chose to use J. Cabido for my repairwork and remodeling. I interviewed 6 contractors for this job, and J. Cabido's price point was on the high end, but they were by far the most professional. Bernard worked with me to get the scope of work needed within my budget, and I had zero problems at all. The work was completed quickly and professionally, all communication with my project manager Gui was polite, prompt and professional, and I was incredibly pleased with the results. They helped me to create a look that allowed me to sell my condo for a higher price than I anticipated, and when there was a minor issue they were there the next morning first thing to fix it. I am so impressed with J. Cabido's workmanship and customer service, and I cannot recommend them enough. I also really appreciate that they offer a one year warranty on their work.

As background, I live in DC in the McLean Gardens community. I intentionally waited 5 months to write this review because I wanted to see how the passage of time might change my opinion following the completion of the project in January 2019. I was thrilled upon the immediate completion - this now being June 2019, I remain equally thrilled with the work performed by JCabido. Everything from preliminary sites visits, the amazing cleanliness at the end of each demolition day, the attention to detail, the communications, and workmanship, again everything was professional, top-notch and the workmen a pleasure to work with. I was so pleased, JCabido will now remodel my kitchen

Arrived on time, quickly accessed exactly what problems were and began repair work . Work was performed very professionally. Plumber workmanship was exceptional. He ensured work areas were clean of any debris before he left.

Without any hesitation Bernard's team did an exceptional job. They were very professional, always on time. They cleanup at end of each work day. Minimized dust going through house.

I know it's a busy time for contractors but Bernard got the team in within a week. The inspection team showed up on time, and diagnosed the leak and they got it fixed the next day.

Great, It was a huge job to remove the old plaster. They came exactly when they said they would be here. They set up plastic over the doorways and windows and walls to protect everything and prevent dust form spreading to the rest of the house. They are clearly experienced professionals who knew what they were doing and did it promptly, politely and completely. I also discussed with them our basement refinishing because it is clear that they are cable of much larger jobs. But, they did this relatively small job for a fair price and cleaned up completely. We could not be more satisfied.

From our very first appointment, I knew I was working with a team of professionals. The team is responsive and professional starting with the development of the proposal all across to the delivery. The team performed excellent and highly detailed work. Their eye for detail and design was extremely valuable to us during the process. The team is overall great to work with.
