RIVERS CARPET AND INSTALLATION

We had an excellent experience with Rivers Carpet. We called them in for an emergency carpet replacement after our existing carpet was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. We were able to get the carpeting replaced in less than a week. The price and service were exceptional, and Mr. Rivers did a great job recommending a grade of carpet that matched our needs. I am happy to recommend them without hesitation.

Got a couple of estimates. Rivers was competitive, but I was most sold on him. He was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I got different stories from different people, but he was right on with everything I read online. The carpet was ordered ins timely fashion and installed the day after it arrived. The guys worked all day. and it looked great at the end and everything was back in its place. Very satisfied.

Mr. Rivers came the same day I called, took measurements and gave me the quote for the job. Because the room is on the lower level of my house, I asked him to recommend a moisture barrier padding so the new carpet wouldn't start smelling damp/mildewy over time. If I hadn't had the moisture barrier padding installed, the price probably would have been a bit lower. Mr. Rivers and another gentleman came the same week and installed everything. They were very nice and professional, worked hard, and got the job done fast. I asked him to give me a quote on replacing my bedroom carpet because I was so impressed with the job they did. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

Using Angie's List of carpet installers/repairors, I sorted the list by proximity to by residence. There was one clear "A" performer with a statistically significant enough count of feedback. I mean this company had "A's" in every category, with nothing but great feedback. For a small job like mine, I had to call them. When I called, the response on the other side was very professional and cordial. It was terrific to hear that Mr. Rivers would be able to stop by today, and that a check with him would allow a more specific time. Mr. Rivers stopped by that evening and explained how the repair would yield excellent results. We agreed on a price (very reasonable, and I know prices), date, and time for the same week. He returned as promised, and though the job was relatively a small one for carpet professionals, he applied the appropriate time and care to ensure excellent results! I couldn't be happier, and am thinking through putting down wood in other parts of my home. His company is my first choice at this point.

Excellent in all respects. Sometimes it's hard to get service on that sort of thing even if willing to pay minimum. Very reponsive and quick (I think it was same day). Friendly, did a good job, and I learned a lot about carpet. Will certainly consider for larger purchase/install for the future.

When we told Mr. Rivers the color theme we were interested for our stair runner, he arrived with several selections that exactly matched what we asked. It was clear that he gave thought to what we described and took the time to choose a variety of very nice examples. We narrowed our section down to three, and he offered ideas on the pros and cons. Then he asked us to keep the samples for a while and "sleep on it". When we called with our decision, the rest was easy. We scheduled the installation and he arrived on time (even though it was snowing) and the work was done within the time he projected. Mr. Rivers made the whole process easy, and we highly recommend him. We are thrilled to walk down the stairs in the morning and feel such plush warmth under our feet!

We had some challenges in picking out the carpet grade which had the colors we wanted. Mr. Rivers was very patient and professional in response to our requirements. Initially Mr. Rivers educated us on what to look for in carpet, then we went and found several different carpet grades we liked. He was able to cross reference the numbers we sent him and we were able to find the exact grade and colors we wanted. In spite of some delivery logistic issues between his distributor and the manufacturer caused by weather, he was able to pull some strings and install the carpet on the same day his distributor received the carpet. Both he and his crew were very professional. They made sure their work was done correctly. We are very satisfied with his work.

Mr. Rivers is incredibly easy to work with and very professional. We got exactly the carpet we wanted, with 10 lb padding for about $2,000 less than the other estimate we received. Mr. Rivers came to our home with carpet samples (I told him the ones I was interested from looking at several stores.) The installation was done exactly on time and in a single day, as he promised. He and his assistants left our home impeccably clean. He also is very, VERY focused on customer satisfaction. He measured the job so accurately that there were no scraps left over for my and quot;decorating boxand quot; (where I keep fabric swatches, carpet, painted boards etc to take when I am shopping for accessories etc.) so he ordered an extra piece from the manufacturer for me. (Still waiting for that to be delivered.) He is also going to come back to trim our a few of our doors because the new carpet is higher than the one it replaced. I would definitely recommend Rivers Carpet to anyone who needs new flooring in their home. (He says he also does hardwood, but I haven't seen that.) I want to add that, if you look at my reviews, it might seem that I'm a pushover or something because all of my grades (so far) are and quot;A.and quot; Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm actually pretty much a Type A person and a control freak. I want things the way I want them ... I want them to be done RIGHT. I just have done a lot of research before I've chosen the contracters I've used and have been happy with their work. So I'm adding this statement to my reviews to head off any misconceptions...

Mr. Rivers provided a very competitive estimate in about 15 minutes, and had product samples to choose from. I gave him a deposit on the spot, as this was my last estimate, and he gave me a better price, better product, and promised better turn-around than others I spoke with. His wife scheduled the installation for the following week. He came when scheduled. We ran into a glitch (our fault, not his), which he addressed immediately. My handyman was there working on another project at the same time, and went out of his way to tell me what a fantastic job Mr. Rivers did. Mr. Rivers and his crew did not beat up the baseboards like many other installers do. The floors look great... exactly as I wanted. I highly recommend this company for carpet and flooring needs.

Mr. Rivers and his team provided prompt, professional, and competent service. Mr. Rivers has an impressive knowledge of flooring products and installation. The finished product was high quality at a very reasonable price. In addition to their high level of professionalism, Mr. Rivers and his team began the work on time and finished within the promised time frame. I will definitely use their services again in the future!

Mr. Rivers was not only professional, responsive and courteous but a lifesaver! We had a horrible 3-D stain in our carpet (some concoction my children brought home from school) and I called several companies on a Saturday afternoon (good luck, right?) to try to find quick help. Mr. Rivers not only answered our call, but came out that afternoon to take a look at it! Once he determined that he could repair it for us, he said he could come Monday morning with what he needed. And he did! It looks fantastic and you would never know a piece of carpet had been cut and replaced. By the time he was done with the job, not ONE other carpet company had even returned my initial call. We plan to put him in our file and refer him to our friends. As a military family that moves around a lot, having professionals like Mr. Rivers to be able to count on and refer to fellow military families is like gold.

Mr. Rivers and crew arrived promptly on the morning of the agreed date. The work was satisfactorily completed in about 1.5 hours. Mr. Rivers and crew are very knowledgeable about the craft. In addition, Mr. Rivers completed work not specified in the contract. I am thoroughly satisfied with the services provided by Rivers Carpet and Installation. I recommend the Company to anyone needing carpet and installation.

I called Rivers Carpet and Installation after reading the reports on Angie's List. Mr. Rivers came several days ago and gave me a very reasonable estimate for material and labor. He came today to install quality nylon berber carpet in my sunroom. He did a fantastic job and even gave me a $50 discount b/c he was delayed in getting to my place (which was just fine b/c he had a job beforehand that took longer than he expected and kept me informed). I will definitely use Rivers Carpet and Installation for other flooring work for my house in the future. Mr. Rivers is yet another outstanding service provider I have found on Angie's List; I plan on recommending his company to others.

The entire experience was great. From the start Mr. Rivers came to our home and did an in-house estimate. He was very professional and very knowledgeable about carpet. We liked the fact that he had a no-nonsense, straight forward approach. He gave us an estimate and once we decided to move forward it was just a matter of putting a deposit down and picking a date. Our house is completely furnished so part of the job involved them moving furniture which I thought was going to be a nightmare, but turned out to be quite easy. Mr. Rivers arrived with another employee on time the date of installation and began working right away. They took great care in moving furniture around, worked very quickly and cleaned up after the job was done. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to re-carpet. This was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time.

William asked us when we wanted them to show up. They said anytime we were able to. So we said 9am. We asked them to confirm if 9 was ok and they said that 9 was plenty of time for them, but they wanted to make sure that it was ok for them to get there early, given some condo rules. They did not show up after 10:00. William called around 9 to say that they were going to be 10-15 min late. Once they got there, it took them about 2 hrs to do the job.

I had found some carpeting I liked at Home Depot, but had had a previous bad experience with installation there. So after choosing some samples, I cruised Angie's List for an A-rated installer. Mr. Rivers ordered the exact carpet I had picked direct from the manufacturer and then installed it. The price per yard installed was around 60% of what I would have paid at HD. The installation went great. They came right on schedule, moved all the furniture, pulled up the old carpet, vacuumed the bare floor, and laid the new carpet and pad, and moved all the furniture back. The job was fast, careful, and clean. And it looks terrific!

They did a very good job. I was completely satisfied. They even came early. They spent practically the whole day here. They vacuumed as they went along and even vacuumed the entire floor when they were done.

It went very well. I could get hold of William any time I needed him. I had already picked out the carpet I wanted, and was in the processes of purchasing it. He went out of his way to check the carpet and to see if he could match pricing. In the long run, he did way more than expected. We ended up purchasing the carpet elswhere. He is very honest, and willing to help in any way possible and came over and measured our room and told us what we needed. He also charged us a lot less than other companies we called.

Mr. Rivers set up an appointment with me to come to my home to show me samples and give me an estimate. I wanted to match the carpet that was already in the living and dining areas as close as possible. After giving him a description of the carpet, his samples were spot on. He gave me a quote and a break down of everything that was involved. I did get 2 other quotes for the same quality carpet. After deciding that I would prefer to go with Mr. Rivers because he was very professional, more so than the other installers who gave me quotes, I wanted to see if there was a less expensive carpet he might have that would be close to what I had chosen originally and would be in my price range. He understood and had no problem coming out to show more samples. He did explain that although this was a less expensive carpet, he would not install anything that he would not put a warranty on, so he could not suggest anything less than this. I definitely appreciated that and decided to go with the sample he bought. The install went very well and I was greatly pleased with the results. It has been a week and I still haven't gotten over how nice everything looks with the new carpeting. I would have no problem recommending Rivers Carpeting or using them again myself.

Mr. Rivers made an appointment within 2 days of our call to show us samples and provide an estimate. He had advice on re-modeling problems we had relative to the concrete floor. He agreed to do the work at our convenience. The team of Mr. Rivers and his assistant Joe arrived on time and worked steadily until the job was completed. They were meticulous in creating invisible seams and stretching the carpeting very tightly. They cut the carpeting for each stair individually because they were not completely uniform.

The job went smoothly. Yippee!

I am doing a lot of updating around the house so I had an opportunity to talk to a lot of carpeting stores. His price was right and was quite a bit less than the other estimates. He showed up on time and was very professional, clean and polite.
