Ron The Plumber inc

Seemed competent when I made the appointment, but quickly went downhill. The plumber dispatched -- Dave -- called on his way, but seemed to have no idea what the job entailed, so delayed to the next Monday so he could get parts. Charged over $1000 for 5 hours of work installing a vanity and fixing a shower handle. Dave from RtP was not capable of fixing the hole in the wall he made, properly grouting the new shower handle/head to the wall, or securing the vanity to studs, so had to use another handyman he recommend for that. Other guy pointed out that Dave had installed the wrong kind of piping behind the showerhead, so it could not be properly attached to the wall. Dave was difficult to communicate with and not especially friendly. Would not recommend.

Ron the Plumber answered my early morning call to repair a clogged kitchen sink. The plumber (Ron) came to my home promptly and repaired our sink. We are back in service again and it didn't cost an arm and a leg! Very professional and honest company.

They came right away, they were quick, we didn't have to wait days for an appointment. They did a good job, the toilet hasn't leaked again.

Easy to work with and knows his stuff (Ron) (but not the man for whom the business gets it's name).

My water pipes had a consistent tapping/knocking sound in the line that progressively grew worse. I purchased the water pressure regulator, and Ron provided the labor. He uninstalled the old regulator, and installed the new one, and that fixed the problem.

Fabulous! Dave, from Ron the Plumber, showed up on time and described the solution to our problem, multiple overhead pipe leaks in our downstairs bathroom.. He didn't have all the necessary equipment he would need that day, but showed up a day later, rearranged the piping, fixed the problem and was well worth the cost for his expertise. Couldn't be happier, and we're having him come back next week to redo our kitchen faucet and sink. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Fair, honest and hard working.

Frank from Ron the Plumber was prompt and courteous. Our house is 105 years old and we are often met with eye rolls and discouraging remarks when they see our plumbing. I explained that we plan to renovate the bathroom soon and just wanted a quick fix to stop leakage and Frank got right to the job and fixed the problem. I would absolutely hire them again.

The service person was called ahead and was on time. He was courteous and careful in the house with floors and furniture. He diagnosed the problems immediately and showed me what caused the problem. The problems were fixed fast.

He's a familiar person and he does plumbing in the area where I live. He's very good. You call him and he comes over to check it out. He's just a nice person. The guy who also works for him was nice too.

Due to all the water, and having to shut off all my water they came to my house immediately. Checked the floor above and did not find the leak. He was able to locate the leak and fixed it on the spot. Within two hours I am up and running again!

Feb. 5 - Called them to fix two faucets and unclog a disposal. They came out & before entering the house informed us they did not fix faucets. Faucet #1 - They looked at the faucet & complained that it was a "gold" faucet (not realizing it was brass) & that those faucets weren't sold anymore. They said there was a cartridge inside the faucet that needed to be replaced & that they couldn't get parts for a Delta faucet. Then said, he couldn't get parts but the office maybe could. He was unclear as to being able to get parts. I told them it was under warranty & that I could get parts by calling Delta. He said the warranty wasn't usually honored. They were wrong - I'd had parts replaced by Delta before. The plumber was unable to tell me if I needed parts or a new faucet but kept pushing I get a new faucet but saying I'd never be able to get a "gold" one. I told them I'd get parts from Delta myself. Which I did. He also said I would need to replace my "old" cutoff values for this sink (they were about 10yrs old!) Said he couldn't get one to turn - I removed a container that was blocking it & was able to easily turn the faucet. Faucet #2. The screw used to remove the faucet was stripped. Plumber started out by saying it was "gold" and gave me the say complaints about it as with the other brass faucet. He complained that the screw was stripped but when I pressed him he said the faucet could be cut out from underneath. Said this faucet also needed a cartridge. btw - neither faucet needed a cartridge - no cartridges in this type of faucet. He told me I would need a new faucet & that I couldn't buy another "gold" one cause they weren't selling them anymore! There were no cutoff values with this sink & he said I needed them installed. He then spent 5 minutes & unclogged the garbage disposal & charged $130.00. We followed up with a call to the owner complaining about how we were treated & the cost of the job. btw - no estimate was ever given. Feb. 17 - They scheduled this appointment but didn't show. We called & found it never got into their schedule. Feb 18 - Rescheduled date - never showed, called & said they had lots of folks who had frozen pipes & they couldn't come out - I rescheduled it for the following week.. Feb. 25 - The owner came out. Said it was a bigger job than he thought. Said he'd rather not do the job that day unless we wanted him to. Said he'd rather reschedule. We had told him exactly what needed to be done before he came out! So we had to reschedule. Again! March 3 - Sent a third plumber from their office. Faucet #1 - He couldn't remove the cover for the screw so dug it out (damaging the brass faucet.) Then he stripped the screw so it couldn't be removed. I called Delta & they said he could drill out the screw & they would send a replacement part. He asked Delta if they were going to also send him a drill bit to use! Then he backed down & said he could bring one on the next visit to repair the faucet. Faucet #2 - He said my new faucet was cheap & had plastic parts that would probably be damaged during installation. (a $60 bathroom faucet) Said the existing pipes may be damaged during repair & may have to be replaced. He removed the old faucet (must have taken it with him because he didn't leave it here) Then when he went to place the rim in the bottom of the sink it didn't fit the hole. He again told me it was because of the cheap faucet. I told him it didn't make sense that a manufacturer would make a sink rim that wouldn't fit a universal size. (After he left I realized that a plastic washer was installed badly & was sticking out into the hole. I trimmed the plastic myself & the rim fit just fine into the sink.) He also had wanted me to put in cutoff values but I told him to cut off at the main value. So he had removed the old faucet & couldn't replace it so he informed me I wouldn't have any water in the house until I went out & bought another faucet. So we had to have the cutoff values installed. Charge $175. So we had paid a total of $305 & never got our faucets repaired. We will use another plumber to repair these faucets.

Ron is the older gentleman who used to go my mother. A younger one is working for him now. His name is also Ron. I used him a year ago but I need to get him out here. That’s pending. I need a new faucet in my kitchen. My mother had him for quite a few years even after she lived alone. He has done a lot of things for her. My sister uses him also. I have used him before and I plan to use him again. I’m happy with him. He’s a pleasant guy. The cost was good. He does good work. His responsiveness was really good.

I've used Ron the Plumber prior to this incident and had never had any issues out of them. Last week - my husband and I noticed a warm spot in our floor. The trouble with this is that we have a cement foundation, so - we knew we had a pipe busted. We called Ron the Plumber and set up an appointment for him to come out on Thursday - he had called us Wednesday night to reschedule for Saturday morning. This was fine, I was happy that he did this ahead of time instead of waiting until the day of. Well ... here we sit on Saturday morning with no plumber. After getting a call at 8:30am saying he would be here in 30 to 40 minutes - over an hour later we have seen no plumber or received no calls. Then, alas - 30 minutes later a phone call. He wasn't going to make it because he was at another job!!!! Who does that? Who tells someone they can make it to your location in 30 to 40 minutes then just decide to divert somewhere else without some much as a call. My morning was wasted and I will NEVER use this incompetent company again.

It went well, even though the issue turned out not to be a plumbing issue. I appreciate the fact that he did identify the problem so that I can call the correct tradesperson to fix the issue. While he was checking out the pipes, he did identify some places where there is impending corrosion/pinhole leaking developing on my copper pipes (a continual problem in Bowie, so I'm told by my neighbors). I will keep watch over those spots or if the HVAC company also does plumbing, will have that run of pipe replaced. I also asked him to identify my various shutoff valves in my basement so that I could appropriately label them. All in all, I was more than happy with my service and would call upon Ron the Plumber to do work in my home.

Problems with Ron the Plumber:quoted us $4,500 for a job that a second opinion firmly believes is completely unneeded (replumbing all gas pipes - that have nothing wrong with them)made us pay $180 on top of $50 deductible ($230 total) without even asking for approval to do the work, it isn't clear what the money was even forleft us without hot water, oven or dryer - a huge inconvenience for our family (we have a one year old baby) when a second opinion found no danger as iswas incorrect that furnace was improperly installed, possibly to appease the warranty people - furnace was installed well and to code in time period it was donethere is a problem with furnace, but what was identified would have only cracked the surface and not touched the much more major problemwas rude and unprofessional, would not give a quote in writing, made disparaging remarks about warranty company, indicated we would need to seek help to pay for serviceleft oven pulled out into middle of kitchen with parts strewn around

Ron arrived on time and completed the task cleanly and efficiently. We have used Ron the Plumber for years and have always been happy with their service.

We called and asked for two services. Replacement of a heating coil on a water heater and repairing a single handle shower faucet. They arrived on time. Replaced the piece in the shower. Would not work on the water heater because they said it was on warranty with Sears. A few months ago we had Sears come out to fix it and they replaced one coil.....which they indicated WAS NOT on warranty, so I had hoped that Ron the Plumber would do it and save us a second service fee. The work they did was good and the price seemed ok. We have used them consistently for years after getting an initial referral through our home warranty. Ron and his son have always been very honest about the problems and what we should and should not fix.

Great attitude, nice and knowlegable. The work was very fast, maybe 20 minutes and he offered me two options for the type of parts he could install. I thought that the price seemed high for how quick he was but he did a great job and he got done what I needed done.

In fixing the leak from the outside faucet, Ron determined that there was no shut off valve which is needed for outside faucets. He replaced the leaking pipe and installed a shut off valve. He also gave us advice on dealing with pin hole leaks, the hoses on our washing machine and our hot water heater. This company had been reccomended to me by Nate's Plumbing (another good company) because Ron the Plumber has worked on Levitt houses in the old section of Bowie Maryland for 20 years. I highly recommend this company.

Came and fixed 4-5 leaks at the same time. Very professional and timely. Will use again

One of the joints of the water heater was leaking so I had to get a plumber, so I had Ron The Plumber out here and I was not impressed. And the prices were completely outrageous, he would not give me a breakdown of price. It was like $450 for less than an hours work. I called and they would not give me the breakdown of any of the work and personally I would not recommend them. The gentleman that was out here was very rude and pushy, and I just wanted him out of my house. Basically, I just wanted him to do the job and out.

Ron was the best! Took his time to do the job right, was punctual, on budget, and very pleasant. He's now our go-to plumber!

He was very courteous and explained in detail all that he was doing.

I've called on Ron the Plumber at least 1/2 a dozen times over the 20 years I've lived in this house. The owner, Ron and all of his employees are great. This visit I was helped by Ron Wells (not the owner but an employee also named Ron). He remembered the work he'd done for a similar problem 2 years ago. He was quick, neat and explained what the cause of the problem and how to prevent it. I highly recommend this company!
