My Home Warranty company referred this company to service my vent duct and the experience was utterly unprofessional. The company came to my home unplanned, never did the work, excuses after excuses about getting the job done. I never expect this service from vet to vet. Completely unprofessional, unorganized, and lacks of customer service.

Buyer BEWARE!! I was assigned People's Mechanical by my home warranty company, to fix my A/C. He called and I gave him my availability due to me being away for military training. I made him aware that I would be available all day on Saturday, June 23rd. He told me I need to call him the day before to ensure I was at home. I asked him to give me an appointment time, which he refused to do and subsequently hung up. Fast forward to the Thursday before he was supposed to come out, he called me after 5 that evening to tell me he needed to come on Friday June 22nd. I reminded him that I would not be at home and he stated that his son has a football game in Pennsylvania and that was more important than fixing my A/C. If you have a choice, do not use this company because he lacks the professionalism to ensure that your job is given the time and care that it needs

A/C in the house was not cooling sufficiently on hot days. Called our warranty company whom put us in touch with Peoples Mechanical. Technician arrived 2 days after first contact when of course the weather had already cooled off... I was working but my wife explained the issue and he inspected our system. First, he determined that the filter needed replacement. He further informed us that the condensing coils were quite dirty and we were 3 pounds low on freon. Basically all issues typically covered in annual maintenance. After the $100 deductible, he wanted $180 to clean the coils and $50 per pound of freon. Warranty did not cover the coil cleaning and only covered $10 per pound of freon, so we were out of pocket on the remaining $40 per pound. We declined the coil cleaning and just paid the $220 for deductible and freon. I went to Home depot and bought filters and $5 coil cleaning spray and did it myself. Overall the technician was good. Didn't try to upsell us and didn't creep my wife out (which is definitely important). I will consider them again if we need anymore HVAC work.

I set up a time for Golden to come out to my home to take a look at my AC compressor, which was not working. When I first spoke to him, we set up a window from 1-4 pm for him to show up. I called Golden to let him know that I was running about a half hour behind, and he confirmed that he would be at my home a little closer to 4. When 4pm came around, I called him several times and only got his voicemail. I was finally able to reach him around 5pm and he promised to show up around 7 pm. He did not call nor show up at my home and I wasted an entire day.

Everything went very well and this is my first review on Angies list. I actually had a home warranty and was referred to this company (so the price reflects the deductible). When we called he immediately answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for the following day! I was surprised. Although I was busy we rescheduled to the following week. The service window given was 6 hours; however, he stated we would try to come as early as possible. During the day o f service he called 30 minutes early to inform me he was arriving.He entered and wiped his feet at the door and went to work. I'm knowledgeable about my system and I informed him that yes the thermostat was working and took my word for it (other providers wanted to test everything). He immediately went to the unit, and began trouble shooting everything. Within 30 minutes he identified the bad relay and checked his van for a spare part. Which he happen to have! It was replaced and everything began to work perfectly. He even left with a couple of recommendations that I did not opt for have installed (overflow switch), which is understandable from any provider to ensure you have everything.

He did very well. He was very good. I will call him again and would definitely recommend him.

I concur with a previous member. I also called several companies listed on Angie's List. Unfortunately, I also got the same response that they could not get out for many weeks. Peoples A/C and Heat (which is now called Peoples Mechanical and General Contracting, Inc.) was the third company I called. I like the previous member was also put off when I called by the brusqueness of the person answering the phone, but I am glad that I hired this company. The technician (Golden) arrived on time and immediately serviced our fireplace which wasn't operable at the time. Less than five minutes, he had diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He seemed to be very honest and took the time to show my husband exactly what was wrong and how to fix it if we experienced this type of issue again in the future. After he fixed the problem (reconnecting loose wires to the fireplace switch) we also paid to have the general maintenance done (serviced the fire logs and cleaning fireplace). Without a shadow of a doubt, I would absolutely hire this company again. The service call was $100 (fixing the fireplace) and the general maintenance was $150. It was well worth our money as he assured us our fireplace is in very good condition and will work fine for years to come. Thank you Angie's List!

I called several companies listed on Angie's List. Unfortunately, several were out of business or could not get out for many weeks. Although this company had one report where the company was given an overall grade of F, I decided to give them a try. I was initially put off when I called by the brusqueness of the person answering the phone, but I am glad that I hired this company. The technician arrived on time and immediately set about servicing the unit. Within minutes, he had diagnosed the problem and fixed it. When he put the fireplace back together, he carefully arranged the ember chips. He took care to make sure that he did not scratch our hardwood floors. I would definitely hire this company again.

Scheduling was a bit difficult as the owner/operator had to work around his schedule, but he did show up on time after a couple of adjustments. We did not spend any time waiting for him as he called in advance to coordinate the appointment. The work done was excellent, and the tech was very friendly. We did not check around extensively on price, but it seems overall to be reasonable for the work.

I used this company because it was suggested by my home warranty company. I probably experienced the WORST customer service ever! The first visit was on a Friday and they said that they needed to order a part. When we called on Monday to see when the part was coming in and to set an appointment they told us that "we weren't their only customer, and they would call us when the part came in." Thursday I called them and they said they would be out Friday afternoon after 1pm. By 5:30 on Friday I was tired of waiting in my hot house so I called them again and they said they would come out Saturday morning before 10am. I had not heard from them by 10:30 so I called the rep and he said his car broke down and he would try to get to me later. I asked him to please call if he would be able to come or to reschedule. The rep never came by on Saturday, never called and refused to answer or return my phone call Monday. I called my home warranty company on Monday and they called the company (he answered) and the same rep I had dealt with the whole time said he would not be able to get to me until Tuesday afternoon (11 days after the original service call). I told him that I thought that I should be a priority because he was supposed to be at my house on Friday, but he refused to change his schedule. I took ANOTHER half day off of work on Tuesday afternoon and he said he would be there between 1-4pm. Not only did he not show up until 4:45pm, but he was so unprofessional and rude to my neighbors that they called the cops. You have to use a ladder attached to my neighbor's deck to access the roof and when my neighbor asked who he worked for he refused to identify himself or which unit he was working on. Because the repair was covered under the warranty I am not sure how much they charged, but I did have to pay $195 just because he had to climb a ladder to access the roof. These people should not be allowed to be in business.
