 + -1 moreI bought 4 large appliances online from Lowe's website and other than the automatic email confirmation of what I had bought I never heard from them for 5 days so I went to the store. The online person at the store looked up my order and was surprised that I had not been contacted. She told me the delivery was coming from another store, that all the items I ordered were on "special order" (whatever that meant!) and gave me that Lowe's store's phone number, which I called right then and there. After 15 or more minutes of waiting for their delivery person to answer the phone, the online person called them with no success. I told her I wanted to cancel my order which she did and then she brought me to their appliance department where the manager there proceeded to lecture me about how great Lowe's client relationship is and that they would take care of my order and then rather than attend to my order he just walked away leaving me and the online person stunned at his quick disappearance! There was another attendant there and he was totally trying to ignore us at which point the online person said she would take my order herself but by that point I was so disappointed and insulted with Lowe's that I could not possibly continue to do business with them, nor will I ever. The approximate amount for all 4 appliances was $10,000.

 + 0 moreThe day after cancelling my order, I received a call from the binds department manager offering a 20% discount on my blinds and and install date 5 days later in an effort to make the transaction right. I accepted and my blinds were installed 21 Dec 2013. The installer did an exceptional job and was very professional. On 22 Dec 2013 I received a follow up call from the blinds department manager checking to see if everything with my install went as expected. Despite the stores effort to correct the issue I encountered with trying to purchase and have blinds installed, would not recommend using them until the blinds department works out their internal communication, scheduling, tracking and efficiency. Updating overall grade to C as the actual installation of the blinds went smooth and the installer was very professional.

 + 3 moreThe door was $1,600, water heater was $2,900, fans were $230, dishwasher was $800 and the install for it was free. The guy installed the dishwasher wrong and they had to have somebody else come and do it correctly. They had a better quality of selection than another big box store. They did a good job on everything.
Description of Work: I used Lowe's for ceiling fans and a tankless water heater. They also removed a patio door set and replaced it. I also bought a dishwasher and they installed it.

 + -1 moreThings look good so far. The contacts have been nice so far. A couple of week ago they came to take measurements and a couple of weeks before that, they came out and gave me an estimate. The person who came out was very helpful and friendly. They took time to go over all the possibilities with me. They were cheaper than another contractor. I misunderstood the price and thought it was going to be a whole lot cheaper because he didn't write the figures down very clearly. I'm not very good with figures and I think it was not his fault and probably more my fault.
Description of Work: Lowe's is coming to do two window replacements in the next couple of weeks. They will remove the old windows and install new Pella style windows.

Description of Work: My husband and I shopped around to begin the remodel of our kitchen, we looked in several home improvement stores for the right countertops, stovetop, paint and lighting. We finally dedecided on Lowe's since we shopped there for all of our home improvement needs, including Christmas trees, patio funiture and lawn needs. We found a great price on granite counters and a stovetop. We even purchased a faucet and had planned to go back for the backsplash, lighting and paint. We went back the next day with our measurements, and chose the pattern of granite we wanted. While the sales person entered all our information into the system we went to order our stovetop. We paid $35.00 for the expectation of work and were told the contractor CMD (Custom Marble Design) would be calling us to make an appointment to come out do the real-time measurements. After a week of hearing nothing, I made a call to CMD, they instructed me that Lowes hadn't made any calls to them and that they had no contract number associated with our name or address. I immediately called Lowe's to see what the problem was. After speaking to someone on the phone (it took me several calls until someone finally called me back), I was told we needed to come in a complete more paperwork. the next day my huband went in to complete the paper work and also paid for eveything at once (although they wanted us to pay 1/3 one day and then come back in a few days and pay another percentage, etc.). Lowes contracted a company to remove our old countertops and plumbing, another to relocate our gas shutoff and install connect the stovetop and a final one to measure and install the counters. A week later CMD came out to do he measureing and I found out that the down draft for the stovetop hadn't been delivered with the stovetop. He needed it to complete the measurements. I called Lowe's and was told that it was still there at the store and for some reason wasn't given to us when the stovetop was delivered. My husband left work to pick it up but the the guy ffrom CMD couldn't wait and said to call in the model number and he would add the dimensions to his drawing. We did exactly that. A few days later CMD came out to install the tops, the other company came back to connect the plumbing and Michael & Sons came back to install the stovetop. Well M&S came out, they found that the stovetop wouldn't fit! The measurements for the counter was incorrect and also the stovetop we purchased was the wrong style, even though we were told it was. So now, almost three weeks later, everyone is blaming and pointing the finger at everyone else, they are arguing over who didn't pass the information to whom (Lowe's or CMD) and I'm left with a hole in my countertop where my stovetop should be, a disorganized non-functioning kitchen. We've had to order another stovetop with a different down draft (that has to be ordered - at least a week), they offered a $500.00 refund (which I don't think is enough for all the grief, inconvience and anxiety we've had to go thru). For a project that should have only taken about two weeks to conform to the dream kitchen I had in mind, I'm forced to microwave my family dinners, I can't entertain and my kitchen looks like a cyclone hit it, this is the worse experience I've gone thru. It will be quite some time before I step foot back in a Lowe's. Home Depot will be the store that completes m kitchen makeover. I'm not sure who is the blame, Lowe's or CMD but if Lowe's is going to contract their work out they really should make sure they have better communication. Lowe's says they will investigate where the disconnect went wrong but they know it didn't come from us (really!). Not sure what difference that will make for us but maybe it will help the next person who has a dream and that it doesn't turn into a nightmare.

 + -1 moreThey hired an outside contractor that had to come back twice. The first time they installed it, the job was not acceptable. I contacted Lowe's to have them come back out to do more work. I plan on buying a new door to replace the contractor's work. They did not do the service I expected. The new door will not come from Lowe's.

 + -1 moreLowe's do custom blinds. They come out, they measure your windows and they come out and install them. They fit perfectly. They're real good. The only weird thing about it was the guy that did it was not very professional in a way that he presented himself. He looked like a scrub and there wasn't much of professionalism involved. Other than that everything else was great. I like them too because they do a lot of sales and discount. We had the same quote form these windows from another company and it was going to be $3500. The actual people that sell it to you at Lowe's was really good. The guy that actually came out and did all the measuring, he seemed kind of like a scrub.

 + -1 moreSlow to set up site survey ($35) then they showed up a little late for the actual work but were done within 3 hours. I inspected work upon arriving home and found that although the sides had been caulked, there were several 1/4 gaps along the outside and inside of the door frame running approx 1 foot altogether. I had to re caulk it myself and did a better job, having simply read the instructions on the tube and it took me 10 minutes. On the other hand the door works just fine and is a better door than what it replaced. I simply expected better work on the details. I rate the job as "Fair" or "C" overall.
Description of Work: Installed new off the shelf prefab steel entry door from Lowe's with pre-fab frame.

 + -1 moreTHEY MADE US PAY FIFTY DOLLARS TO HAVE SOME GUY COME OUT AND MEASURE EACH WINDOW FOR THE NEW DRAPES AND THEN IT TOOK THEM THREE MONTHS TO GET THEM DONE. WHEN THEY CAME TO INSTALL THEM NONE OF THEM FIT. I CANCELED THE CONTRACT WITH THEM AND WON'T EVER USE THEM.
