Cecilia dealt with me via e-mail, which I preferred, in scheduling an estimate. She didn't make it to the original appointment due to a short notice conflict, but she was easily reached and we rescheduled again. She arrived early for her appointment and we went over the scope of work. That night I received her e-mailed estimate that included a 90 day warranty. Since I was waiting on other estimators, I didn't get back to her for several days, so her next-day availability went to next-week availability. We agreed on a start date and start time and she arrived fairly on time (9AM), despite an e-mail that said she'd be running late due to traffic. She quickly began laying out the cabinetry as shown in pictures I had taken previously and started to install the cabinetry. As she had questions, I was available to answer them. She left for the day at 3:30PM for a personal matter which she informed me of in advance. She arrived early the next day (before 9AM) and started back to work. We discussed options for what to do with the above-the-refrigerator cabinet we planned on using. She gave some good ideas about how to reuse it as a base cabinet if we wanted to. In the end we opted not to install that cabinet for the time being. When I got back from picking up the kids from school and getting some lunch, she was done and ready to go. She had cleaned up any mess she had made and bagged up any trash. We will definitely call on her again when we move further on in our kitchen renovation and need help. She was very pleasant to work with and didn't spend a lot of time on the phone, or chatting with me, or sitting outside on smoke breaks. She got her work done in a very timely and professional manner.

Cecelia responded promptly to my request for an estimate and then was able to schedule me in a short period of time. She performed the work mainly in one day, came back a few days later to install painted wooden piece and make fine adjustments. Very pleased with her manner and work ethic.

They came in and gave us a quote. She did not charge us for work she didn't do (work in the initial quote that was not completed but will be done later).

She arrived on time and did the work quickly and efficiently. Ceclia is very friendly. She provided me with a price estimate on Tuesday and came out to to do the work on Thursday. I would use her services again.

She was very friendly. She did a high-quality job and did it quickly. It took roughly an hour for her to finish the work.

Cecilia can be a little hard to get ahold of at the beginning - call & email her, and if you don't hear back in a few days, do it again - she's worth it! Her cost estimate was very fair and she stuck to it even though some problems presented themselves. She showed up on time, both work days, and I felt totally comfortable leaving her to work. She's a good person, who cares about her work and the people she helps. When I had a crisis several months later, related to the new sump pump, she fit me into her day to help me troubleshoot it. She's the best.

I have used her a few times before. I spent $350 on her services. She does good work. She is very responsive in terms of getting things done at the last minute. She works well. She did exactly what was discussed. She was timely and her price was what she had said it would be. It was cheaper than what I had expected. I will use her services again in the future.

Handywoman Services are great. She seems to be very knowledgeable. She is no nonsense and very competent.

She did excellent work. We'd like to use her again, but she's difficult to get in touch with. Once you get her to the house, though, she's focused and really knowledgeable.

She did a good job overall. I felt the work was completed at a reasonable rate. She worked hard to complete the project for the price quoted. The time ran a bit over what was specified, but I felt it was adequate for the amount of work she performed.

She did a fabulous job. She gave me an estimate the same day that I contacted Angies List, we arranged for the work to be done, she was very prompt, and the job looks great.

Cecilia's work was great and she took special care around my young son, cleaning up everything, watching for lead, and working as quietly as she could. Communications were prompt and she came right over when I called for an estimate. I'll definitely be using her services again and would certainly recommend her. A super value for all of the time and work it took!

A wonderful and completely responsive company. Ms. Moore inspires confidence and sense of community. I am new to the Laurel area and she made me feel like I found a new and valuable friend. She did everything she could to satisfy my requests and more.

Cecilia is extremely professional, very skilled, polite, good humored and punctual. She gives thorough explanations of what she sees, what options are, and is very transparent on cost/benefits. I immediately felt at east with her during the estimate and she performed the work exquisitely. A true gem and I am just so thankful to Angies List for having the chance to find her services. I will definitely be working with her for as long as I am in the DC area !

Ms. Moore is a delight. She is on time, easy to work with and inexpensive. She does not promise anything she cannot do. She cleans up after she does the work. I just had her adjust patio doors, power wash my deck, fix several hardware problems in a bathroom, fix a front door knob that needed tightening and fix a tight door. I believe this is the third or fourth time that I have used her services over several years.

Sent an e-mail to coordinate a visit for an estimate. Received a prompt reply at 8pm that asked if she could come the next morning at 9am. I didn't have time to schedule that with my job so I asked to move it a week in advance. Didn't receive a reply for three days, followed up and received an apology. Scheduled a new time and date, sent a confirmation e-mail and waited for her 9am arrival. It's two hours later, no e-mail, no arrival, no phone call. I can't speak to the quality of her work, I can speak to the lack of professionalism in scheduling.

She did a great job - and she did it quickly and efficiently. My shutters look great and my Homeowners Association will be very happy. My bathroom is perfect!

We had great difficulty getting her out to our house to do some minor work for us in 2010. After a couple attempts at scheduling Cecilia, she came out once in late spring or early summer and got a couple things done on our list. We tried multiple times to follow up with her to get her back for the remainder of our list. Despite numerous e-mails, including one that told her we would need to go with another company if we didn't finally hear back from her, she never responded. We would have understood if she would have said that she was too busy and would gladly have waited a couple months to schedule her in since none of the work we needed was urgent. But her repeated lack of communication made it useless to continue to try and work with her. We were very disappointed to have to find another handyperson because we had previously really enjoyed working with her. When she follows through, she's a great, and we loved supporting her. If you can get her to be responsive, we recommend her highly. But if you can't, go with someone else.

Very well. Ms Moore took her time and exhibited excellent skills and concern regarding the quality of her work. She was ounctual arriving on time and finished work in a timely manner. I plan to use her again for other projects around the house.

The price they quoted me was about $3,000 for interior painting of almost the entire house. The owner came out and was really easy to deal with. I liked her personally and thought that she was very professional. I did not chose her because our subsequent company came out and convinced me that I needed to do a lot more work on the walls to prevent it from cracking. I already had a problem with the walls because the building is about a hundred years old. Instead of going back to everyone I talked to before and asking for a quote to do that additional service, I just went with the company that suggested it. I may call her for a quote for something else. I think she was well-rated and that is why I called her in the first place. I would give her a ?B? because she did not spot the problem with the walls and that it needed more attention, so the paint lasted longer. I did not ask her what her quote was to do that additional work.

Then in March when I called her for work, she just never got back with me.

This was a strange and very disappointing experience. Based on her Angie's List reviews, we contacted Handywoman in mid-June 2010. I was very impressed with Cecelia when she came to the house, and thoroughly examined a dozen or so repair tasks. She seemed knowledgeable, professional and personable. I particularly appreciated her relaxed manner, generosity with her time, and willingness to discuss how I might be able to do some tasks myself. After six days I emailed her to ask when to expect an estimate. She emailed the estimate promptly, but a few items were missing and the estimate was not itemized as we had discussed. So I returned a corrected list and reminded her that we had requested an itemized list so we could prioritize the tasks. 20 days later, still no response, so I re-sent the email. This time she responded quickly with an itemized list, apologized for the lapse, which she said was due to a problem wth her Spam filter. OK, that happens, so I thought nothing of it. But after one more email exchange, and I sent her the finalized list of tasks on July 13, again no response. Despite repeated email attempts, and phone calls, we just never heard from her again. No response at all. Eventually, I left her a phone message saying if we didn't hear from her quickly, we'd have to find somebody else. That was our last communication. I have no idea whether she just got too busy, was experiencing communication breakdowns, or decided not to do the job for some other reason. But the net result was a few hours of wasted time and having to start over with somebody else. My impression is that Cecelia is quite competent and pleasant to work with, but -- judging from our experience and some other reviews who experienced very similar communication failures -- has some serious communication/management problems.

She showed up on time, and gave me good advice about some leaking and tile issues, but then afterward she never sent me a quote for the estimate on the bathroom remodel.

As described above, everything went well. Couldn't ask for better.
