Capitol improvements I can appreciate people that take pride in their jobs. Patrick, the Roof Guy hands down the best in business. Pat is the most down to earth person I’ve met great conversations. Just his knowledge alone, and how he explain in detail the process and materials you need to have a perfect leak proof roof. After Pat explained everything in detail he took time to go out and visually show you different of roof installments and right vs wrong. Once you see a bad roof for yourself there’s no unseeing them. Now when riding around I feel like a roof expert I can spot a bad roof just like that. In November 2020, I selected “Capitol Improvements” when I needed Siding work to repair my vinyl siding on one side of my 3-level end unit townhouse, after my neighbor’s fire melted my siding. Based on my experience working with “Capitol Improvements” I would highly recommend them to do any Vinyl siding work on your house. My house was an eye sore to the community. I selected “Capitol Improvements” from a list of 10 or more potential siding companies. After much research I narrowed, the list down to 5 companies. I asked each company the same questions, trying to get a feel for who I should select to do the work. I went back and forth with the companies, asking questions, researching the companies using BBB.org, requesting information in writing, and talking to the company representative in person. I selected “Capitol Improvements” because the owner “Pat”, took the time to talk to me, explaining what would be done to restore the house, better than before the house was damaged in the fire. My dad is a brick lawyer and I grew up around real construction tradesman – Game Recognizes Game. I could tell Pat knew his business of Vinyl Siding and he was an excellent communicator. A lot of the representatives from the other siding companies, seemed to get frustrated with me asking questions and requesting answers to be in writing. Getting the siding fixed correctly was very important to me, because of the cost involved to fix the house and ensuring the work would be done safely – I had a concern with the workers reaching the difficult parts of the 3-level townhouse. The Homeowner association would have to be satisfied with the look, material matching the other sides of the house and quality. I wanted a company that would be confident they could do the work and would stand by the work. I wanted a company that would help me fix the messed-up vinyl siding on my house. The owner Pat did a great deal of helping me, put my confidence in “Capital Improvements” to fix damaged vinyl siding of my home. “Capitol Improvements” got the materials, and started the work at the agreed upon time. I was very impressed with the workers who repaired my house siding. The workers worked so hard, that I was inspired to work harder for my boss. The house was completely finished in 5 days, and the workers cleaned up after their work was done. To this day I have no clue how the “Capitol Improvement” workers fixed the more dangerous higher parts of the 3-level townhouse. The vinyl siding on the 1 side completed by “Capitol Improvements”, is better than the vinyl siding on my entire house. The Homeowner association was satisfied and 5 of my neighbors commented me on how good the siding looked. I highly recommend “Capitol Improvements” to do your vinyl siding work. Rob, Bowie, Md

Went like clockwork. I met with Capitol Improvements twice before deciding to go with them as I'd met with other roofing companies as well. I decided to go with them based on their sales pitch but also because so many of my neighbors recommended them. I'm happy I went with them. They offer a great warranty and I love the new look of my house with the new roof. Would recommend them highly.

Everything went really well. The communication was great. The cost was on par with what I expected for other flat roofs in the area. I would definitely use them again.

If you are like me, you’ve cut back on unnecessary spending lately. I love living in the DMV, but it sure isn’t cheap. When I discovered that I needed a new roof, I thought to myself that this is really bad timing. Still, my home is my biggest investment, and I know that it requires me to spend money from time to time. When it comes to my home, I want the best my money can buy: (1) top of the line materials (2) expert installation, (3) great customer service, and most importantly, (4) a reasonable price. That is why I I am so happy I found Capital Improvements. This company met every requirement. Working with Pat, the owner, was great. He came to my house and helped me make the right choices for my project. Pat took the time to really look at my home and help me decide what was right for me. There was no fast talk or “hard-sell” tactics. I was treated like a valued customer and not a $ sign with two legs. Everything Capital Improvements promised they delivered. They even put a new roof on my shed for free! I was so happy with them that when I decided to add gutter guards, I called them without hesitation. They did the same great job. I highly recommend this company.

We are so pleased! This is the first time we used Angie's List which in itself started the ease of hiring a contractor. After receiving visits and quotes from three companies, we opted to hire Capitol Improvements and found what a small world we live in. Come to find out, we know the owner, but not what line of work he is in. We hired them, not because of knowing the owner, but because we felt most comfortable with the work to be accomplished and the pricing. The crews did an excellent job and worked so hard. We appreciate all that was done and would not hesitate to hire Capitol Improvements again if the need arises.

He prepared a written proposal, complete with photographs of the proposed finished product. He knew exactly what my HOA required. All I had to do was press a forward button on my computer. The entire process went smoothly. The initial consultation/estimate was professional and efficient. I was given a clear explanation of what was needed with more detail and time spent answering questions than provided by the other companies that gave estimates. The installation occurred on the day that was planned, and was not loud or disruptive.

We were ultimately very happy we chose to go with pat and his team at Capitol Improvements! While Mitch doesn't typically lead sales on their roofing products, he worked with us and was excellent. Very informed, patient, and honest. We had quite a few questions about the quote, and Austin (Pat, the owner's, son) was very helpful and thorough in addressing all our questions. The final price was very reasonable and easily beat competitors' quotes. The actual roofing work was quite fast. Immediately after the roof, I was not happy with the amount of waste left around our house, and their were a few other quality concerns with shingles and siding. However, I wound up having quite a few discussions and in-person meetings with Pat, the owner, and was ultimately quite pleased. Pat was extremely responsive, helpful, and reassuring. He ensured that all my concerns were addressed and he made commitments about guaranteed service going forward. While I initially had some frustrations and concerns, I found Pat and the team very easy to work with and would certainly hire them again and recommend them!

Excellent! Spoke with Austin 12/27/17 and was able to schedule an assessment 12/29/17, I was told who and what to expect. Jovall called the morning of to confirm. He was friendly and very professional. Great communication skills - I was shown pictures of the damage and discussed options to help me make the decision of repair as an immediate safety precaution. I appreciated knowing that if I decide on replacing the roof I would be credited the amount of the repair. Being right after the holiday I was glad to get an appointment so soon.

Mr. Jewell was prompt, professional, and informative when I met him for an estimate. The price was also very good. He went out of his way to answer all my questions and even found me someone to do a couple of other repairs I needed that fell outside the scope of his company. The workers were fast and accurate, and cleaned up after themselves meticulously. When I politely pointed out they had forgotten to remove a rooftop antenna that was part of the job, they immediately went to work on that without fuss or complaint. The job was completed within one day as promised. The roof looks lovely, and matches my shutters perfectly.

We hired Capitol Improvements to install a new roof and gutters on our house. The price was significantly less than the major companies (the cost of roof and gutters was less than what just a roof would be at other companies) and I was so pleased with Mitch's care level for what we needed. We had figured it would be about a month before our roof was installed, and then gutters many weeks after, but we had both done in about 2 weeks after signing the contract. They were able to do our roofing in one day and our gutters another day--didn't need us to be home. Mitch explained pricing and what we were getting, didn't hard sell, and was able to meet us at convenient times of the day. Any additional projects I need in the future, I am definitely calling this company!
