Poor quality / poor project management. Most of the work performed by this contractor had to be redone or repaired. Unsupervised laborers installed cabinets backwards and cut a pipe that flooded another part of the house outside the construction area. Dwayne Jones, the owner, didn't hold himself personally accountable for the substandard work his team did. For example, the bathroom drywall crumbled within 2 months after it was hung. Mr. Jones indicated he wouldn't cover the collapsed wall because he couldn't be responsible for the sheet rock quality that was used. We paid a second vendor to come rebuild the wall correctly. Mr. Jones seems like a likeable guy, but he was vested in chasing his commercial contracts and eventually proclaimed the insignificance of the $45K project we hired him to do. Furthermore, his level of knowledge on basic task related to en suite bathroom renovations was weak. A clear case of ineptitude was on full display when Mr. Jones indicated he didn't want to spend $900 (9 gallons) on my Sherwin Williams paint choice as it was about $600 over what he had budgeted. He was irate and emphatic that I needed to select another SW formula. In the end, my master bedroom and bathroom required only 3 gallons vs the 9 gallons of paint Mr Jones calculated. The actual cost of the paint I requested was only $60/gallon. Lastly, Mr. Jones didn't manage his own business affairs for which he bore financial responsibility. For example, the company that leased to him a dumpster that was dropped in my driveway resorted to calling me multiple times because the dumpster wasn't returned or paid for according the contractual terms. Overall, the quality of work performed was substandard in every way: the bathroom tile floor isn't level and the visible effect of the slant on the baseboard and trim is glaring. The plumber cracked the flange (sp) on a special order Kohler toilet unbeknownst to me. The eventual leaking of the toilet appeared in the downstairs bathroom. The flange was replaced and ceiling wall was repaired at an additional cost to me due to the shoddy work Mr. Jones oversaw and approved. The sheet rock hung to build a pocket door had to be reopened to remove the nails busting through 2x4 slats, which obstructed the passage of the door into the pocket space. Lastly, we recently paid a grout specialist to reseal the bathroom tile floor where it meets the tub. The grout crumbled within 90 days of the completed work. the grout doctor suggested the wrong adhesive was used for the space. Mr. Jones offered limited value as a general contractor. Most of the work completed could have been performed by "weekend warriors" at a fraction of the cost. I have pictures and receipts that support every claim made here. The experience was unpleasant and a borderline scam.

We had a very good experience in discussing our intricate project with Mr. Jones, receiving an estimate in a prompt and professional manner and receiving responses to our questions. After reviewing and comparing with other firms however, we decided to hire one of the other firms.
Description of Work: I needed 500 sq ft of hardwood floors sanded and other floors replaced, as well as needing up to 5 rooms painted and other small handyman projects.

I originally had scheduled painters who were suposed to paint and they cancelled at the last minute. I went on Angies list and saw the ratings for Monster Paint and called. The painters used masking tape instead of painters tape, so when the tape was removed, the lines were uneven and jagged. Nail holes in the ceiling were not filled, and when I asked about them, I was told he did not see them when he did the estimate. The job was done good, however, it was not what I expected from a professional company.

On time, on budget and his crew was neat and respectful.
Description of Work: We have used the company on three occasions to perform both interior and exterior painting. The jobs replacing loose drywall tape and patching water damage in ceilings in addition to basic painting. Our house has a two story foyer and rooms with 9 foot and higher ceilings. The work was well done with no damage to any surfaces. The latest work also involved wood repair/replacement of an exterior bay window and exterior trim painting.

The guy was nice enough to hang my chandelier for me. They were economically priced, as I got 3 quotes and they were the lowest. The guy was very professional and friendly.
Description of Work: They painted the foyer, hallway, master bathroom and another area. Difficult work with 10 ft ceilings.

They showed up on time and did a good job. They asked for a space in my garage to stage their work each day. They cleaned up after themselves each day. I would gladly recommend them to others due to the good job they did for me.
Description of Work: They painted the inside of my 3600 square foot home.

The painters were on time. The price was reasonable. But in the process there was a damaged attic vent. We were not told by painters or owner of company this was done. Discovered a day later. Communicating was an ongoing effort. Returning calls by owner was terrible. We had to stay on this problem to get it taken care of. Not sure I would use this company again. Owner needs to learn to return calls, and take responsibility if you damage someone's property. I will probably have to repaint the vent they replaced. Poor job. Honesty is very important.
Description of Work: Painted trim around entire house. Also painted 7 sets of shutters. Clucked and replaced some trim pieces.

THE PROPRIETOR, DWAYNE A. JONES, WAS TIMELY AND GAVE A COMPETITIVE FIGURE FOR THE JOB. HE LISTENED ATTENTIVELY TO WHAT I WANTED AS FAR AS THE REHAB AND TOLD ME WHAT WAS NEEDED TO MOVE IN TO THE PROPERTY. ALSO, HE ALLOWED FOR UPGRADES LATER.
Description of Work: MONSTER PAINTING PERFORMED A FREE JOB ESTIMATE FOR A HOUSE THAT I WANTED TO PURCHASE. THE PROPERTY IS OWNED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN 1954 AND THERE WERE NO REAL UPGRADES SINCE THAT TIME. NEW WIRING, WINDOWS AND SECURITY NEEDED. ALSO, NEW KITCHEN AND 1.5 BATHS ALONG WITH NEW PLUMBING. GREAT BRICK STRUCTURE AND HARDWOOD FLOORS THROUGHOUT.
