We were very pleased with the work done by Skye Builders. Jonathan and his team arrived on time and finished the project on schedule. We would definitely hire them again.

They were awesome! They helped me design a deck out the 2nd story of my townhouse. They helped me work within my budget- to find Trex that was affordable and the right color. They helped when I changed my mind about Trex railings- and really came through. The work was AWESOME! First they had to move an old shed to another part of the yard and prep/pour a new concrete slab. Then, they put up the deck- they installed rain-guards, which I LOVE- the patio underneath the deck is dry and able to be used year-round. They installed the door (double, french) including the header- very quickly and efficiently- they even cleaned up after!! The deck was tricky because they had to go around a chimney, and Fairfax County had some paperwork issue- but they handled everything. Now- I have an amazing deck- which use all the time-- it is in perfect shape with no issues a year after. Skye Builders did a fantastic job- they had experience to deal with Ffx Cnty, with my budget and mid-project changes, and were very pleasant to work with. They were professional and even the guys that worked out in the heat for 12 hours a day were so nice to me and to my son. When neighbors ask about the deck, I always recommend Skye Builders-- and will continue to. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

The deck was originally scheduled to take 3-5 days. The first day 2 workers showed up. By the third day there was one worker. The job took nearly two weeks to complete. While building the deck I asked the worker why he did not space the planks and his response was that it was not needed. Forward nearly 5 years later. I have multiple rotting planks and algae/mold on the deck. I contacted Jonathan(Owner) and he said he would send someone to look. That never happened. After an email exchange Jonathan told me that it was a manufacturer defect but that the manufacturer would not do anything. My best bet is to buy new boards and install them myself, according to Jonathan. Additionally, Jonathan never addressed the spacing issue. Here is the last email from Jonathan. He won't even take the time to help deal with the issue his company created. Also, he mentions that records have to be kept for warranty work. He never told me or provided any documentation. Dustin, When decking boards were installed they were all spaced the same. The issue with the spacing is moisture content with the product not craftsmanship. To be perfectly honest and blunt; there isn?t really a point in filing a claim with the manufacture. The warranty requires yearly maintenance records, invoice of purchase, manufacture tags on the ends of the boards and the list goes on. They make it so difficult that it just easier to purchase and replace the boards yourself. This is exactly why I always encourage folks to upgrade to the composite decking. We are running into this problem more and more. Since we installed your deck we had to start having clients that buy Pressure Treated Lumber sign a disclosure that the boards could warp, check, split and dry inconstantly. We even considered not offering the Pressure Treated Decks anymore but the market still demands it. Regards,Jonathan

It?s been 5 months since our bathroom was completed and we still comment almost daily how much we love it. My background is in Facilities Management so I have managed more than my share of corporate construction projects. The contractor selection makes all the difference between a successful project and a nightmare. I specifically chose Skye Builders over a smaller company because I wanted to ensure that the contractor for my home would have the bandwidth and cash flow to warranty the work properly. I met with and solicited bids from 4 contractors and chose Skye Builders to do the work. Jonathan handled the design and worked with me to put together a comprehensive scope of work before starting the job. He was also our Project Manager. Jonathan was easy to work with, responsive to my calls and flexible in working with us along the way. He dealt fairly with us every step of the way. I don?t think we could have had a better person in our corner. Norm was the person that actually built our new bathroom. He isn?t just a tradesman, he?s a craftsman. The work he does is impeccable and we were absolutely blown away with the final product. Norm will not sacrifice quality for speed and he absolutely knows his stuff. Since the work was completed, I have had 2 friends who both do kitchen/bathroom renovations for a living look at our new bathroom and comment on the attention to detail and high quality of his work. Norm was easy to work with, does beautiful work, has a great sense of humor and was very respectful of our space. He also answered all of my questions and had great ideas for small no-cost tweaks that improve the overall look and feel of he bathroom. The end product was better than we expected. We lived in the home while the only bathroom as being renovated which was not a lot of fun. However, Norm worked closely with us to ensure that we knew well in advance anytime the toilet would be unavailable. He planned the one piece of the project that would make the bathroom inaccessible for 24 hours to occur on a weekend when we were already scheduled to be away. He worked in our home that entire weekend to ensure that the bathroom was usable when we returned on Sunday night. We also have pets so Norm took a few extra minutes every day to make sure the bathroom was safe before he left. Since every project is bound to have a few surprises, the true measure of a company isn?t how they handle things when everything is going right but how they respond when issues arise. This is one of the reasons why I?m so glad we chose Skye Builders. I?ve had to work with more than one shady contractor who uses change orders as an income stream. Skye Builders doesn?t work like that. They handled issues quickly and with integrity and I always felt like we were treated fairly on price. Changes that were minor cost items were absorbed by the project and the one larger dollar item was discussed with real numbers and not the padded numbers most contractors throw at you. We were able to come to an agreement that was both fair to us as their customer as well as to them as our contractor and I never once felt like I was being ripped off or lied to. These guys were a class act. Near the end of the project, we realized that the vanity would not work due to an unseen existing condition inside the wall. After adjusting for the interior wall condition, we ended up needing a very unusual and hard to find vanity size. After having little luck finding an off-the-shelf vanity that would both work with the bathroom design and egress needs of my home business, Norm informed me that he is also a cabinet maker with his own shop. He suggested that he could design and build a custom vanity to fit the space perfectly. Norm worked with us on the design and was even able to shave costs by using the stone shop inside the same office park where his cabinet shop is located. Since he was able to provide exact measurements and do the installation himself, their site visit and installation costs were eliminated. Since the cost of the custom vanity and upgraded counter material would be higher than the in-stock vanity originally specified, Jonathan worked closely with us to come to a final price that was fair for both parties. I know that our final cost for the vanity and top was significantly less than what we would have paid for a custom cabinet and top of this quality. A smaller builder would not have had the bandwidth to be able to handle this problem the right way. The custom vanity was literally built for the space and makes our bathroom look far and away better than anything we could have expected. We really couldn?t be any happier. By choosing Skye Builders, we got a fantastic bathroom, high quality work, an excellent experience and a builder we can partner with for all future projects. We?ve had the final bathroom for about 5 months, are still in love with it and have had no issues. However, I also have no worries that if something were to come up 6 months from now, Skye Builders would be right there to make sure we remain happy with their work. Skye Builders was excellent at every turn and I intend to use them for all of our future home projects.

Working with this company was a delight. From start to finish, they concerned themselves with making sure that their obligations were met and that we were satisfied with the work performed. The quality of the work performed was excellent. I would definitely use this company again.

I just wanted to share my experience with Skyebuilders Inc. (Tyrone Noble). Mr. Noble was amazing; his customer service, attention to detail, and dedication to ensuring that Skyebuilders Inc. designed exactly what you want is comparable to none. Mr. Noble worked tirelessly to ensure all of our questions and concerns were fully addressed and in a timely manner. Our project was to have our existing deck and concrete patio slabs demolished and then a larger, new, composite deck with aluminum railing balusters, and pergola built. The deck also needed to be able to support a hot tub including having a required GFCI outlet added and any associated hot tub electrical work done. Our project also included a ground level, flagstone patio with sitting walls, a flagstone path across the backyard, and a concrete and flagstone stairway from the backyard, around the side of the house, up to the driveway. The deck design was INCREDIBLE and exactly what we were looking for and Mr. Noble even suggested a number of detail pieces and design tweaks that made the deck even better than what we had initially imagined. The pricing for the project was VERY competitive with the other (5) estimates we received. Mr. Noble was able to provide examples of all the materials that we wanted to use to build the deck including the different lighting options, an engineering design on graph paper, virtual 3D design photos of what the finished deck would look like, and a detailed Scope of Work write-up. In the end, I must admit that we did not hire SkyeBuilders Inc. to complete this project for us but not because they did anything wrong. We just felt that due to the extensive nature of the flagstone patio/stairs portion of this project, we would feel more comfortable going with a company that had a bit more experience working with flagstone patios. Personally, I was heart broken that SkyeBuilders Inc. did not have the level of experience with patios that we were looking for or that we couldn’t just use them to build our deck and use another company for the patio/stairs portion. We did look into this option because we were so impressed with SkyeBuilders Inc. but unfortunately, the coordination required between the two separate companies was just going to be a bit too much for us. However, Mr. Noble made such an amazing impression with us and we were so pleased with SkyeBuilders Inc. experience with decks that I just had to post this review for them. When it comes to getting a deck built, I HIGHLY recommend contacting SkyeBuilders Inc. because I am sure you will be very impressed and happy with your decision. If I ever need another deck or structure built that SkyeBuilders Inc. has experience with constructing; they will be the first company I call and I will always ask for Mr. Noble.

They came out and took a look at the project. The guy said he would get back to me with some initial plans but I never heard or saw from him again

The company was prompt in setting an appointment to prepare an estimate for two bathroom remodels. One bathroom was already gutted and the other would be a full remodel. The estimator was polite and answered my questions without being short. In all the estimates came back pretty in line with others, but the company would not provide me with references to others home owners who have worked with them on bathroom remodels before. That's a bit fire alarm for me.

We were very happy -start to finish. We highly recommend this company and have used their services since.

The work was done quickly and professionally. The contractors are honest and reliable. They did a great job! The materials look great. When the deck was complete, my neighbors and family commented how much they liked my deck. It has been a full year now and I am enjoying my outdoor space and use it all the time. It is easy to clean and durable. Skye Builders will be my first-stop for work in the future. I have nothing but good things to say!

It went very well overall. They came, ripped off the old, nasty floor boards, added extra support and then put down the new Trex composite.

Overall service and products were excellent. They came and showed me different options in windows and fencing styles, gave me quotes, performed the work in a timely manner, left areas clean and packed up materials and tools up when they came and went. All was done in a timely manner.

Skye Builders did a wonderful job! They were very helpful, polite, and clean throughout the entire process. They are a honest company, and we felt comfortable leaving our house while they were working.

I requested an estimate for a deck. Two salesman came out, one was the owner. I was very impressed to say the least. I preceded to receive two more estimates and decided on Skye Builders. Big mistake! The deck I was promised was not built but instead I received a "tinker toy" deck,. The explanation from the salesman was that they had a million dollar house they were working on in Maryland so they had to finish mine quickly. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I complained numerous times and finally they basically did the best they could to meet the contracted specifications I paid for without completely starting over. In the end I would say I was pleased, but it was not worth the stress and the time wasted. This company is suppose to be a five star company, five out of 15 maybe.

They were very good to deal with. They were very knowledgeable and very professional. They were very easy to work with. I would absolutely get another quote from them.

The rebuilding of the stairs went pretty well. The powerwashing and staining of the deck took a bit longer than I expected though. But overall, I was pleased by the end result.

We haven’t used them because it looks like there is a restriction on what we can build on the end of our deck. Everything about this company seemed fine and our experience was fairly brief. I could consider using him if needed.

The project went very well. I was afraid to move forward with the project after the first company folded (with a $4K deposit) but Skye Builders (Jonathon and Wayne) restored my faith in contractors. They showed up when they said they would, called each during the project to give me status reports, and they made sure I understood what they were doing and why. They are very professional, knowledgeble, and I found their price to be very reasonable. I love my new deck and can't wait to begin using it this spring.
