Outdoor Illumination

We wanted to add landscape lighting to our front and back yard. Bill came out and looked at what we had (an old system in the front yard with old halogen lights but a working transformer in the front yard and nothing in the back. He was extremely professional, and at my request worked to update and incorporate what I already had with new LED lighting. He was super easy to work with, knows his stuff and focused on doing a great job for the customer. I told him I didn't want to spend a fortune and he came up with a plan. Once we got everything up I wanted to make some tweaks and additions. He was super accommodating and responsive. He genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy with the finished product. Great experience. I got a few quotes from top Angie's list (and one other contractor) and Outdoor Illumination wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive but they are probably the best!

Outdoor Illumination was recommended to me by a friend/neighbor And I would certainly recommend the company to anyone needing their type of service. From my first call to the company, service was prompt, professional and courteous. Work was started and completed as promised. The crew was a pleasure to have at my house. After installation there were a couple of adjustments that were needed. Again my email/calls were returned immediately and minor changes were made within 24 hours.

Mark (owner) and his Forman came out to provide an assessment and responded with an estimate. We made a few tweaks to the job and we book the installation. It went very well. We installed noon lighting and some tree accent lighting. It looked great but we decided we needed a bit more coverage and Mark had his crew come out and add the additional lighting! Now it’s perfect! We did it off season so the wait for installation was not long, only a couple of days which we were very happy about! Mark and the crew were very professional and I would use them again.

Very well. The designer promptly met with me and we discussed options (both for appearance and cost) to maximize return on investment. He also ensured I knew where some investment now could provide returns because of reduced maintenance and improved safety. My house and yard look beautiful.

It turned out okay. Their services are fine but their follow up is really slow if you have a problem. They sent somebody who was good and solved the problem.

I've been using them for years and they are very good. They charge $100 per hour per technician plus light bulbs and fixtures. They are not very cheap. I don't know if there are others that are cheaper. We have a bigger than usual yard. It is twice as big as a regular yard. They do a good job and they show up. They always check in after the 6 months because they want the business. They give a discount with a contract. It is like 10 percent off if you sign up for a year. They are very responsive and I like the technicians that come to my house. If I call, they address my issues and will very quickly send out somebody. I've never had something they couldn't fix. It is pretty simple. I would like them to be a little less expensive. That is my only complaint about them.

The company is very well run and responsive. I recommend them to clients for lighting and irrigation work because I know that they are professional and perform high-quality work.

They did it years ago and it is still working. It is very nice. We have been using them on and off over the past 15 years. Their work is very good but I have not used them for the last four or five years because they did such a good job that the only thing that needs to be done is change the bulbs. Some of the materials, of course, over the years, have broken down and had to be replaced. I did not have problems with their workers or anything; they are very efficient. Their price is high because we are a very high income area around here. I think they are one of the bigger outdoor lighting companies in the Washington. D.C area. Some of the stuff did not last and had to be replaced. They did have a one year service warranty. Some of the lights have lasted all this time. I think they were very professional.

They were punctual and they came when they said. We had a service contract with them and they would just show up for the regular maintenance. They were very expensive. Their work was okay. The communication was good for the most part. I probably wouldn't use them again.

They are great, very reliable and always answer our service calls immediately. We have a yearly service contract so they come out every couple of months. Then, if we have a problem, we can call them and they come out. We see them fairly regularly. Everyone who has come out has been incredibly professional and conscientious. They really respond within 24 hours. If I call and leave a message they get back to me immediately. They are very responsive with their customer service.

Over the past three weeks I have tried to get an appointment scheduled for this company to come out and give me an estimate for outside lighting for my backyard. I first submitted an email on their website. After a week of no response I phoned the office and spoke with their customer rep who took my information down and said someone would get back to me as soon as possible. After two more weeks still no response, so I called back again on 1 May and left a voice message and I'm still waiting. This company had all top marks for responsiveness and customer service but they appear to be too busy for any new customers. Update: Owners contacted me on 5 May and explained they had switched mail servers and my email request for an appointment was lost in the upgrade. They apologized for the miscommunication and not getting back to me in a timely manner and they would like to come out and give me an estimate for my job. I explained that I had already contacted someone else to complete the work. Final Opinion: After receiving an explanation and an apologize from the owners, and given their high marks on Angie's List I would consider contacted them again for any additional lighting needs.

Installed path lights. Very helpful in identifying style/color of light that we wanted even though it took some research. Very prompt email replies. Nice people. Quickly lowered location of timer box in garage after initially installing it too high for me to read easily (I'm very short.) Did a good job cleaning up. Took the time to teach me to change the programable timer if needed.

Matt Taylor and his team from Outdoor Illumination were amazing! Matt spend several late nights with my wife and I going over multiple options on ways to properly illuminate our home, our patio and the multiple trees we have on our property. When we bought our home, you could not even see our home our the driveway at night from the street - now, the lighting of our home, driveway, trees and patio make our home absolutely beautiful!! Even though it took several visits from Matt and several quotes to make sure the price point was acceptable and the fixtures where proper - Matt was always on time and the product he and his team delivered was nothing short of perfect. In fact, Matt has come out several times since the installation to adjust the lights to make sure that they are aimed properly and are doing exactly what they need to. The customer service and professionalism of Matt and his team was phenomenal. Matt's electrician came in and added several dimmer switches for us, ran cabling and wires and amazingly, there was ZERO carpentry work that had to be done as a result of his work - this means, no drywall repair, no paint repair - nothing! My wife and I could not be happier with the work completed by Matt and his team and now I have the oasis I've always wanted with my patio and the lighting back there.

Went well generally....arrived on time. Punctual clean professional. Had some problems with their timers after they left and were quite responsive in replacing them at no cost. They understood the issues in organizing and planning my system, customized it to my specs, and were licensed and bonded. I would recommend them highly.
