Mr. Handyman of South Montgomery County

Max came on time and started hanging my 5 pictures on the walls. He then replaced the rotten lumber with treated lumber on my gate and replaced 2 hinges as well since they were so old that it was more feasible to replace them than to put them back on the new lumber. He also installed a new ceiling vent and painted the part of the ceiling where duct tape was holding up the old vent. The biggest job was taking apart the old compose box in my backyard that was rotted and had termites. He wasn't able to complete the job so he came back the week after to rebuilt the box with treated lumber. The new compose box looked great. Max was very professional and very knowledgeable of what needed to be done. The results of his work was excellent and we are very pleased with him. This is our 4th year using Mr. Handyman and will continue to do so. The coupons do help with the price. Nicole and Stephanie in the office were very pleasant and helpfu.

I didn't contact the company or hire them

We hoped to improve the appearance of our shower by having the mildew-stained grout removed and replaced. In the process, 24 of our glazed ceramic shower tiles were slightly chipped, scratched, or severely gouged by the Handyman's tool used to dig out the old grout. Our handyman worked hard at a difficult and dirty task, but ultimately didn't have control of the tool he was using as evidenced by the damage to so many tiles. On the positive side, Mr. Handyman paid us $50 to buy five tiles to replace the most severely gouged and our handyman returned to do the replacement free of charge. However, I am still distressed by the tiny chips and scratches which remain in so many of the shower tiles not replaced. There appears no easy way to repair the scratches and small chips. This job took two days and we had to pay $1,600 with a $100 discount coupon. We also had to pay $91 for the tool that ultimately caused the damage to our shower tiles. Mr. Handyman was very responsive in trying to address the problem, but we wish it hadn't happened in the first place and are not entirely satisfied with the end result for the money we paid. The grout job itself looks quite nice.

Shaun was professional, respectful of our home and did an excellent job. I wii definitely use this company for all future home handyman services.

In home estimate cost $65 and the estimated work plus labor was $2000 higher than other companies who came to evaluate the same work. The recommended work and materials involved were all the same so I could not understand the discrepancy. Plus they were the only ones who charged for the in home estimate.

He repaired it. Likable person, reasonable price.

Never written a review before on any website however Mr. Handyman did a fantastic job for us in September and I wanted to make it known on Angie's List. They were responsive from day one, came out to our home quickly, and did a quality repair. Our technician was thorough, gave me a good description of the work that had to be completed, and checked in with me over the course of the project to ensure I was pleased with the outcome. The scope of our work included the removal and replacement of rotten wood on the exterior of our home (roughly 18 feet) with quality materials, waterproofing, and repainting to match the color of our existing siding. I would highly recommend Mr. Handyman to anyone and we will use them again for more projects around the house in the future. Thanks.

Max, the workman from Mr. Handyman, opened the ceiling with the leak and helped me see what was in the area of leak and what may be needed to resolve this problem. The replacement of an existing fan took longer than anticipated, because the initial installation was not done according to accepted norms. Max worked to compensate for the original installation error and installed the new fan. I am very impressed with the work effort and work product provided. Max kept me informed of issues as he progressed thru the day and sought my input as needed. I will have the company return for future work.

Great response. Very clean meticulous work. My countertop and cabinets had to be adjusted to fit the stove too and the work done on that was excellent. Very pleasant and easy to work with. Estimate time and cost were spot on. Would definitely use again for any handyman projects.

I have been using Mr. Handyman of Southern Montgomery County every year for 4 years now. Nicole is very responsive, pleasant and helpful each time I called for service. I told her what I needed done and she said she would send me the right person for the job. The wooden door to our guest bedroom would not shut properly, the door is uneven and the wood has expanded so it won't completely close. We had put it off doing anything about it but now that we have an extended house guest, she wants to be able to shut her door. We replaced the old microwave/exhaust in our kitchen 5 years ago. The newer model is much smaller so after installation, there was a gap between the tile above the stove and the bottom of the new microwave/exhaust on the kitchen wall. We did not want to do the tiles ourselves and each year when we had the handyman over, something would come up that he did not have time to do the tiles too. So this year, we decide to get it done once and for all. Sean came on time to do the job. This time I was not home but my daughter was so she waited for him. They called me to say that the new tiles may not match with the old tiles since the old tiles are over 30 years old. I told Sean that I understand and to do his best to match as close to the old tiles as possible and that I have faith in him. I was told that Sean had to go to 2 different stores including a tile store to get the best match which is why it took him longer and there was more hours to the costs. Yes, if you do not have the supplies for him, you do pay for the handyman to go and get the supplies and there is a surcharge on the supplies he buys. However, I would preferred him getting the supplies with one trip than me making several trips and probably still not get all the right stuff. My daughter and Sean called me later to say that the tiles he bought was slightly wider than the old tiles. He said that it may look strange but he will try to cut them to get it as close to the width as the old tiles. My daughter sent pictures of before and after and the wall looked wonderful. When I got home to look for myself, you cannot tell which tiles are the new one. Sean was able to cut them to the right size so everything was seamless. He also shaved the top of the wooden door so now the guest bedroom door is able to close shut. Thank you Sean for a wonderful job!

They arrived early and worked most of the day. They removed and replaced the boards, which took time since they are on a diagonal pattern. Their estimate for the amount of lumber was quite accurate, there was minimal waste, important since cedar is expensive. The deck looks great. In between they patched a small area of drywall, where drywall had been removed to provide access for an electrical repair. This is the fourth year that I've used Mr. Handyman and have been pleased with the results each time.

Tech was very experienced and took about an hour to replace 3 dectors

From first contact with Nicole in the office, it was all great. I left a message and she called me back promptly, she was friendly and answered all my questions. She got me scheduled the next day. She even replied to my emails in the evening / over the weekend! I felt like right away this company had above average customer service. The handyman was running about 10 mins early, so he called to ask if that was okay, which I thought was nice. When he arrived, he put his boot covers on outside the door, without me having to ask! He did a great job, explaining what he was going to do and letting me take a look after he got started to make sure it was what I wanted / expected. The price was exactly what was quoted.

Our appt. was at 7:00am, he arrived promptly and immediately started working. I had my list of "things to do written down on a sheet of paper" prior to his arrival. In which I provided him with the list to review before starting the job. A job that I estimated to be approx. 3 hours, took 5.5 hours, while he didn't mention paying him any additional money, because I appreciated his time and workmanship, I paid him extra. We were both satisfied. Mr. Spinner, owner of Spinner Development, had one of his helper with him, both Mr. Spinner performed 99.9 % of the job. He works very fast and he's very particular about his workmanship, ensuring to provide his customer with excellent service. Indeed, not only will I use his service again, I will refer others to his company as well.

The technician that came out was great! He wasted know time fixing things. He did a great job and even mounted my TV for me. The problem I had was the harassing e-mails and calls after they completed the job asking for money for parts they bought (that I did not authorize them to buy). The receptionist was very rude and ultimatly sent an email saying "Since your obviously not going to pay, we will take it up as a loss, as we know you probably owe everyone anyway." Like seriously lady how rude. They need to do better about clarifying additional costs. If I have already paid you 400 plus dollars everything should be included and I don't need to be talked down too.

The lead technician, Jose, was professional above and the call of duty. He gave up a weekend to finish the job when it became clear the job would take much longer than estimated. Dan, the supervisor, came on site after the work was completed to be sure everything was done right. This company is expensive, but if you want to make sure things are done to very high standards, this is the place to go.

Max was a pro. He came over several days to work on the fence and patio. Very thorough, communicated well and cleaned up as he did the work.

Bobbie as amazing and awesome. He clearly cares about his work, he is creative and knowledgeable. He also is just a really nice guy, which matters to me, especially when somebody spends altogether 12 hours in my house.

Alex arrived promptly, took measurements, left and returned a few days later with the completed frame which fits perfectly. He secured the frame and panel and made sure they were level and aligned with other lower cabinet doors. It looks great. I will definitely use service again and ask for Alex.

Alex was able to do all of the projects quickly and the quality was first rate. Handyman of South Montgomery is a little pricy but the work was done correctly and we are happy with the results!

Fabulous work, followup, attitude, professionalism at every stage! Delighted to find them on State Farm list, and could not have been more pleased. Of 5 A List firms we contacted, only 2 responded. Amazing, Mr H was only firm that actually bid (a situation that friends have said they experienced, too), fortunately within the insurance limits and responsive to them. Worked very well w/State Farm to get authorizations and payments needed. (and delighted w/State Farm, too!) Went so well that we had Mr. H perform other services we needed. Mr. Handyman is a misleadingly modest name, given their superb capabilities and performance.

He did a super job and matched the arch at the top of the six foot wooden fence section with perfect precision. Everything works fine, he cleaned up after himself and was very professional. I would definitely use the company again.
