Mr. Handyman of South Montgomery County

It took over eight hours to complete the projects. The handyman they sent kept taking breaks throughout the day, even though I asked him to get back to work, and, as a result, the bill was much higher than expected. I had to pay because him he was getting very upset after the projects. Afterward, I called Mr. Handyman and they sent another representative out to check out the work, and he found that some of it was faulty and had to re-do it. Then, they refunded half of the money. Since the work has been done, some of the hardwood floor has come undone. Overall, the management at the company was very good, but the service people were less than satisfactory.

Very well. I would recommend them, and I would use them again.

Handyman arrived late with no call, which I didn't appreciate since I moved my schedule around to be home at the agreed time. Other than that, his service was great. He was knowledgeable about all I need done, even with products he had not used before. I found his advice helpful on certain things also. I appreciated that he used shoe covers when he entered my home, but I noticed once he went out to his truck with them still on and came back in with them, thereby sort of negating the purpose of them. Nice guy overall.

The company was very responsive, so I was able to get someone right away. The dryer vent was in the basement of our split foyer home, so had to be run up a wall and then out. The original builder had put in the expandable plastic tubing which had deteriorated over time. Replacing it involved cutting through drywall. Our handyman, Max, explained everything very thoroughly before doing the job, totally repaired the drywall so you couldn't even tell where he'd cut through and left the work area clean. Everyone I spoke to from the company was friendly and knowledgeable, and I've already hired them again. All in all, a pleasant experience and a superb job.

He was always on time and very courteous. He's a very clean, efficient, polite man and I have absolutely no complaints. I plan on using him again in the future.

He did a good job. He was very efficient. He had to go off sight and buy things. He did everything well for us.

He was a bit limited in his work. He did an O.K. job. He knew how to do some things but not others. They were very honest. He was pleasant and easy to work with.

He was friendly when he was there. He showed up five hours late and I had to call them to see what was going on and he didn't do a good job with everything.

Henry called to tell me 10 minutes before he was due to arrive to tell me he was running late! Upon arrival, he quickly surveyed the 3 jobs, the supplies I provided and headed off to a home improvement store for the remaining supplies. Returned quickly and from then on - kept me informed every step of the way, inviting me to survey the results at each step! The man is obviously a master at drywall and putty. The work is paint-ready! And the tile and baseboards match the existing ones! The re-screening took no time at all -- nor did the caulking. This was my 'trial run' with this company and they passed with flying colors!

He took some complicated curtains down, also did repairs in the bathroom, and checked repairs he will do in the future.

They are great! I was very comfortable with him working around my home.

Well, the work was performed as scheduled, the employee was prompt, courteous and professional. He had the necessary tools and went right to work. No surprises.

The handyman worked steadily and efficiently from 8:30 till about 3:30. I thought he did a very neat and conscientious job. Only complaint is that he did not completely clean up after his work.

He was busy from the time he walked in. He worked straight through. Very hard worker.

They never called me back. I called and left a message on Friday 10/26, and today is Wed 10/31. Still no call back.

The work was completed quickly and competently. When he arrived, Mr. Bourque quickly assessed what needed to be done and started work right away. He impressed us with his experience and we felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing and had all the skills to do the job well. He was also very responsible, for example, when he left to get supplies and it ended up taking a while, he called to let us know that there was a long line at the store. We would highly recommend him to anyone and would hire him again.

I called Mr. Handyman last Wednesday and they sent Max over on Thursday morning. He arrived 15 minutes late, but they had called to tell me that. He showed up in a very well equipped truck and went right to work. He installed the freestanding center island kitchen hood in 7 hours with NO damage to the existing ceiling and walls. It was all done through a 6" hole in the ceiling a 4" hole in the exterior wall. Total cost $778 which was a less than the other prices I got. My wife and I are both architects and we can be pretty demanding on the quality of the finished work. We were both absolutely satisfied with the results.

Very well. Pat arrived in a marked truck exactly on time. The day before I had gone to the local home improvement store and made sure that I had all the material he would need. I showed him all the projects and all the material. He started on the big projects first then small projects in the house, then the projects outside the house. He did use some material from his van like anchors, caulk, sanding pad, etc. Charged me a total of $10 for it, which is fine I think. He was very polite throughout, on one hand he didn't waste time talking, on the other hand he explained everything when I asked him questions. Also he showed me the good strong kind of anchors I could buy myself and how to use them if I wanted to do it myself. There were some other projects like putting in a closet door, for which he wrote down what I needed to buy so he can put it in next time he was around. Also gave me an estimate on how long it would take him to do it. It was a job well done!

I was not happy with the first five minutes. I had told the supervisor when scheduling that I would not be able to move large furniture out of the rooms. The handyman seemed very surprised and acted as if he wouldn't be able to do the job since he said all furniture would have to be removed and he couldn't do it himself. I convinced him the furniture could be moved to the middle of the rooms and then slid back as the rug was removed (I had done this when I removed the rug myself in the living room). After that, things went well, although they took much longer than the time he estimated. The end result is great, but it was pricey. I had also asked him to repair a hydraulic hinge on my storm door that had fallen off because the wood was very beat up. His suggestion was just to remove it since there was a hydraulic thing on the bottom as well. The door seems to work just fine that way.

He is very courteous, wears a uniform, and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable with him working in my home. I would highly recommend him. I get a discount for being an Angie s List member. He will be coming back to do more work in the future. I was very satisfied.

I think the work was done very, very well. The technician who performed the work was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He was also very punctual, almost to the second. The office was also very good about scheduling and working around my schedule - just a real good experience with this company.

They did a good job. The work in the bathroom was excellent. I had some issues with the quality of the work done on the deck which I noticed a little later. He picked out bad pieces of wood which made it look less perfect. One time he didn t show up when I thought he was coming, it was a big mix-up. When I called them they were all very apologetic. I would use them again because they are an easy one stop solution when you have a lot of little projects to do.

Technician was a little late, but the work was completed professionally and neat.

I made an appointment with Mr. Handyman and within 24 hours, the appointment was confirmed by telephone. The caller was very polite and professional and explained the services to me. My job was assigned to Emilio, who quickly attached the gutter and gave an estimate for replacing the trim, siding and painting, as well. After, he fixed the gutter, we went to home depot to get the replacement parts. Emilio returned two days later, to complete the job in one day. I had gotten earlier estimates, from another contractor for twice the price and twice the number of days to complete this project, so I was gratified to discover the work had been done so well, at a great price in a short period of time. I will be using Mr. Handyman's services again, this was a great experience.
