Mr. Handyman of South Montgomery County

Twice I used them. The same great handyman came. He helped me do a bunch of odd jobs around the house each time. He did a great job. Worth the money. This was over a year ago. But I wish I could fine a handyman like this again.

I called for an estimate for a number of jobs that needed to be done around my house. I didn't get a return call for almost a week. When they called back, I was driving so it went into my voice mail. I called back about half an hour later and was told I'd have to leave another message, which I did. That was a month ago, and I never heard back. This is not just a Mr. Handyman problem. I contacted two other companies that did not get back to me either to schedule an appointment. So aggravating.

Max was very good. The project was broken into two days & the company was good about making sure they the same tech came back the second day instead of sending someone else. He showed up on time & was very professional. They offered a lot of detailed information. They cleaned up when the project was done. They were very efficient & I would definitely use them again.

Easy to deal with, efficient, fast and affordable with very little supervision.

We got another company to do the job.

One guy was sent to do a two person job, he arrived 40 minutes late. After a phone call to the office, another person was sent out, meanwhile I helped with the marking of where the holes were to be drilled on the tile while the handyman guy held up the glass door which weighed about 60 lbs. Later when I wasn't in the bathroom, he cracked a tile during the drilling process, I'm sure that this happened because the drill bit became over-heated. It takes a special knowledge to drill in ceramic or porcelain tile with out cracking the tile. I told him that I would deal with it and he could knock some time off of the installation. When it came to the framing of cabinet, he put the top part of molding at a slight angle. I could have done the job better myself. I signed up for Angie's List so that I would get someone that would do a good job and the results turned out to be very disappointing.

The guy arrived on time, which is always good. He told me what to expect price wise before hand. He did a good job.

I called the office and set up an appointment. I was able to obtain an appointment at my earliest convenience at the time I wanted. Jose arrived a few minutes early. He was polite and professional. He asked what I needed to be done and went through my list without any issues. He explained to me that the outside fawcett had a worn washer and should be replaced in the spring. He turned it off outside and then shut the valve off for the winter. He installed the smoke detectors and fixed the light fixture without any issues. He worked on the front post and had to make a trip to Home Depot to get something to hold the post to the cement. He was back in a flash and fixed the post. He did all that in 2 hours. I would have Jose return to help me with other items that need to be fixed.

It went great. I did not need to replace hardware for trash bin since he could fix it. The cabinets were installed better than the builder had originally installed, he properly aligned all the cabinets. He suggested and installed a better access panels than I purchased, much lighter, easier to remove and cheaper and more appropriate for the ceiling.

Overall, the projects he completed we very professionally done, within the projected time and with ease.

The handymen that come out are always polite, very informative, and get the job done. They are good about answering any of your questions. I have used them for a variety of jobs and would recommend them to others.

Very well. this guy came out just as the day after a big storm. His phone was ringing about new jobs, mostly repairs/carpentry.

that the entire valve unit needed to be replaced. This would have meant cutting out a section of the back wall and cutting out and welding back in new piping with a new valve unit: a very expensive approach. I asked why he wouldn't simply replace the valve stem and he said that he didn't know how to do it. So I did it. 30 minutes even for an amateur and fraction of the cost of his approach. He also ciaimed to have fixed the flickering light, but that was not done correctly either. Dan came back to fix the light and help complete the other repairs. Dan is good. With others, ask a lot of questions before beginning.

I called to schedule a handyman, and one was available that afternoon. He showed up, and I recognized him as someone whom we had hired before for other work. He remembered being at our house, and that helped. I showed him what I wanted done, and the ladder he could use. He climbed onto the roof, and cleaned the upper gutters of the house, and swept other debris off the roof. We have Gutter Covers, so he had to remove some of the end caps to flush them properly. He cleaned up after finishing the work, and was finished in an hour. Very professional and friendly.

Mr. Handyman of Southern Montgomery was very responsive to my initial phone request and scheduling. I needed minor repairs securing brackets in my walk-in closet. Alejandro showed up right on time and did an amazing job. He was very professional, donning boot coverings as soon as he came into the house. Alejandro definitely embodies their "On time, Done right" slogan! I was very pleased and would hire him again. The price was also very reasonable, considering I only needed an hour's worth of work. Other companies charged a two-hour minimum and a trip charge. Mr. Handyman represented themselves as a very thorough operation, calling back to see if I was happy with their service, and offering a future discount coupon. After moving into our new house, we noticed the shower caulk was coming out. I am fairly handy, but the shower tile is uneven and i wanted to make sure the new caulk would make a water tight seal, so I made an appt to have Mr. Handyman re-caulk the bathroom. The initial phone call was very easy and the agent suggested i buy my own caulk from home depot to save some money, which i did. the handyman showed up on time and got right to work. he removed the caulk and applied the new caulk in under an hour. overall, i am satisfied with the work, though the price was a bit high. none the less, i would use them again.

They showed up on time, and kept me informed as to the progress of the job. They brought minor issues to my attention as the work progressed. Max demonstrated his craftsmanship and explained how he would work around issues as they came up (with my prior approval). Expertise was very important to us, and we were very happy with his. We are very pleased with the results of their work.

As stated above, it went well. The microwave proved to be difficult to remove, and there was no foreseeing this.

Handyman arrived on time, explained what was causing the problems, explained what needed to be done to fix the problems, obtained items needed to fix the problems, and fixed the door in a timely manner.

The company knew that I needed a glass to be repaired and the size of it. The technicians shows up with no gloves, no vacuum, no cardboard box to collect the broken glass. We provided him everything from our home and because he didn't have a vacuum it took the technician about 30minutes to collect the glass. The broom and other things he used will be thrown because they have shattered glass and are unusable. The technician was very nice and very knowledgeable but didn't expect that kind of work. The company didn't prepare him. He didn't come with any replacement glass and had to go to Silverspring about 12miles from where we live and with traffic, it took him about 2hours to go there and come back on MY DIMES!! meaning the company charged me ~170$ for their technician to go get the glass and come back!!! The bill was total about $700 but after I complained they deducted 1hour of labor and i had a coupon of $25 from Angies list to reduce the price to $590. So imagine that changing a glass and a faucet would have cost 700$...it's crazy!! Never again I will use their services and I will not recommend it to anyone!!

It went relatively smoothly until he encountered obstacles in the wall and ceiling ( i.e., fire drop and insulation) where snaking the wire became very difficult. However he persisted to get the job done.

I had to speak with the answering service a number of times, who were very nice but it was better when I got to speak with Sandra at Mr Handyman who knew better the scheduling, etc. Mr Handyman came at the agreed time. They quickly fixed the shutter, pointed out some repairs needed to the shutters in general without being pushy. Then they quickly reattached the lip of the stair to the staircase with their nail gun, covered the holes with wood putyy, and tightened all other loose "lips" on other stairs. The tech was very friendly and helpful.

He was quite cooperative. He recommended things. I thought the job would go one way, and he recommended another way, which was the best way to do it. He was quite helpful.

The job went very well. Unfortunately, I got the wrong drywall access panels but he quickly pointed out a better alternative for the ceiling and picked them up for me at Home Depot. Also, he was able to fix one additional thing that I did not have on my original list because I was going to special order a replacement. This saved me at least 300.00
