Marvel was very professional, punctual and did a fantastic job putting on a new room in our basement. They were also extremely tidy as they worked and left the job site neat when they left for the night. Loved that they were always on time even for estimate. I will use them again for my next home improvement job!

WOW!!! This company is absolutely fantastic. I obtained estimates from four contractors that I found on Angie's List. I ultimately went with Marvel because of the responsiveness and attention to detail by the owner, Devin. Before starting the job, Devin provided me with a detailed schedule that told me everything that the company would do and when -- a schedule that he stuck to to the very end. Because Devin does not subcontract much, he is able to control the quality of the work. Quickly and efficiently, they did all the demo and then started putting the house back together again. Devin provided sound advice on selection of materials. He worked with me to meet all the requirements of the insurance company and the mortgage company. After the job was finished and the company had completed everything on the final punch list, I discovered a few minor items that we had missed on our walk thru. The very next day, Devin came back out and had the problems fixed. Specifically, the washing machine leaked when it ran through a cycle. I did not know if this was because it was not connected properly or if it was a problem with the machine. Devin came out and discovered that the machine was leaking. As I was trying to figure out when I would have time to call a repairman, Devin had already arranged for a repairman to come out and fix the problem. I would recommend this company to anyone without reservation . . . and I have. You cannot go wrong with this company for general contracting and remodeling. I can't praise them enough!!!

It was a pleasure to work with this company from start to finish. Because the structure was preexisting, walls that were not square made the bookcase a challenge, but Devin took special care to work the details until it was right. The subs all did equally excellent work, were respectful of our home and did careful cleanup. Everyone involved took obvious care to create a quality product.

Devin was recommended to us by friends. Their remodel looked great and they said he had finished on time and on budget. To skip to the end he did the same for us. We liked Devin from the start, he has a very easy-going demeanor. He recommended a architectural designer (Steve Backus) when our first one didn't work out. Devin worked well with both of them. He really thought about how he would build what they were designing, so that once the plans were ready it all went smoothly. From ground breaking to delivery took less than the 6 months Devin promised. That's a fast pace so be prepared to make a lot of decisions in a short amount of time. We moved out so that Devin could have the run of the house and that was definitely the right decision for us. It let him go faster, and having our kids live in a destruction/construction zone would not have been good. We are thrilled with the result. Devin has an eye for the finishing details that make it all look top notch. Devin was attentive to the punch list and to the few issues that have come up since. We highly recommend him.

Devin and his crew were always friendly and professional. They did high quality work and were fair about changes along the way. We are so happy with our results and would use them again (and hope to some day.)

Devin, the owner, had done remodeling for four of our neighbors all of whom were extremely pleased. When we bought a new house that needed significant work, we knew that we wanted to have Devin do the work. Because of our difficult seller, Devin's estimate was the only estimate we received. We knew that he was not cheap but that he would do quality work. He began work as soon as we closed on the house. Devin promised that we would be able to move in by six weeks. He and his contractors worked hard and long hours. At one point he had 25 workers there. And yes, we did move in at six weeks. When we did ask him to add work to the list, he was always fair. His professional judgment as a builder is excellent. He offered us many useful suggestions. Devin is a very nice guy and very easy to work with. We are extremely happy that we had him do work on our house.

It couldn't have gone better! We had less than 2 months to carry out this massive renovation before moving out of our old house and into this new one with our 5 kids. We didn't even have time to shop around for contractors and other estimates. A good friend of ours who had recently done work with Marvel Home Improvement gave us Devin Nasvaderani's number, and the moment we met him, we knew he was the man for the job! He promised to get the job done in 6 weeks. It seemed almost impossible with all the work that we we needed to do, but he came through as promised. Not only that, but he came in exactly on budget as well! It was a pleasure working with Devin and his crew. He gives his projects his full attention and he delivers a beautiful finish. We will only work with Marvel Home Improvement in all of our future renovations. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

It went beautifully--I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a contractor. Devin (the owner) is very professional and nice, which makes him so easy to work with. He was flexible about meeting for estimates and to discuss the work. His crew was punctual, professional and very, very neat. They always cleaned up after they left. The work was impeccable. Working with Devin changed my opinion about contractors. I have used many in the DC area, and most of them leave much to be desired. Marvel is great and I will use them again.

We had just bought our first home, a fixer upper, and had no idea where to start first. We had a list of many projects we would need to do over time and a budget we had to stick to. Devin came to look at our house and listened to all of our wants and needs as we explained the ideas we had in mind. After discussing our options we decided to start with the least attractive room in house. It was a small room that had our washer and dryer in it. We had no space in the house for an eating table and only two small closets in the whole house. So, Devin and his staff turned the space into a beautiful sunny room big enough for a dining table and two much needed storage closets with shelving, one of which also stores our washer and dryer out of sight. It looks amazing! He widened the doorway from the kitchen to the room, moved the back exit door to a more sensible location, installed 4 new windows, and laid a tile floor with an inlay border. He also installed new outlets and recessed lighting. While completing the project Devin discovered things that had been done improperly by previous owners and he repaired them to code (joists in the floor, drainage for the washer...). He noticed everything and made sure that the new room was built without any imperfections. We love the room and can't imagine not having the extra storage space. It was the best thing we ever did!

When our renovation project fell apart, we heard of Marvel Home Improvement through friends who had used Devin's services and were very satisfied with the experience. We checked several references, all of which were glowing. We asked Devin, the owner of the business who serves as general contractor for all projects, to assess the condition of our house and advise us on how to fix it and complete the project. The house was empty and unlivable at the time. We needed a contractor who could accurately provide a timeline, a good cost estimate and contracting process. Marvel has a reputation for on-time delivery and excellent cost and project management. Devin impressed us with his experience and responsiveness. He quickly also referred us to an excellent architectural designer who helped us to move forward with fixing design issues and finalizing a design. Devin's team started the project on schedule. The workers were courteous, tidy, and respectful of the property every single day. They cleaned up the job site at the end of the day and worked quickly and competently throughout the day. All sub-contractors on the project obviously had long-established, positive professional relationships with Devin. From the painters to the flooring company to the tile installer to the electrician to the mason who built a stone fireplace, the subcontractors provided pricing and service that obviously reflected an outstanding relationship with Marvel Homes. Devin also provided accurate updates on costs on a regular basis and made excellent suggestions on where/how to save money without sacrificing quality. He personally arrived on the job site daily. When questions or issues inevitably arose, he addressed them immediately. He communicated with us on a daily basis, never hesitating to let us know the status of the project or about any structural or materials issues. As a result, we were well-informed throughout the project. Devin is also outstanding at on-time delivery. He provided a schedule of work at the start of the project and then emailed us regularly to make sure that we were making decisions and keeping up with the project. He often collected information for us about pricing and delivery times and dealt directly with materials providers, ensuring that the project would stay on track. The choreography of the work was a great demonstration of strong organizational and time management. Most importantly, we will actually be sorry for the project to end, as we've enjoyed working with Devin so much. He is a rare blend of integrity, humor, competence, personal responsibility and experience. We went from disappointment and despair about our home renovation, to great satisfaction at the beautiful work that has been done. We endorse Devin and Marvel Homes without reservation and will hire them again should the need arise.
