+ -1 moreI highly recommend avoiding Kramer Architects. We had a horrible experience on a large expensive addition project where Mark Kramer did not listen to our requests for the project and then disappeared once work started. In hindsight there were major design flaws. These actions ended up costing us significantly more to get the project to a less than ideal outcome, which still has not achieved our goals. This would be a zero stars if that was an option.

+ -1 moreThe architect dissuaded me -in a very professional manner- from the project I had conjured up. This consultation lasted for over 2 hours and at the end Mark said he was not charging me for the time. He even left me with a quick sketch for the new project and a reference for a bath and kitchen specialist. Lots of fun just talking to Mark about films, travel, video production, children's books, music concerts... in addition to discussions that demonstrate his keen sense of light and space for construction of new addition. Mark is totally open to your needs and suggestions in his plans for the project.
Description of Work: I asked for an architectural appraisal for adding a bathroom extension to the first floor of my house. Mark Kramer advised against that project and drew sketches for a new project to help me envision a new space for a bathroom. Mark Kramer was recommended by a friend of mine who was very positive about his work on her house.

Description of Work: Mr. Kramer came at my request to consult about changes to my house. He basically said that my house wasn't worth improving and not to waste my money, that I should be happy that I lived in a nice neighborhood. While I appreciated the honesty, I thought he should at least listen to what I had in mind.

+ -1 moreMark was very professional from the start to the finish. He had great ideas and made sure that we were treated fairly by the contractor throughout. Wish we had enlisted an architect for our other two home improvement projects - I can see now how even our finished basement could have come out much better with his insights and experience.
