I had one of the handywoman’s named Mahkameh installed 2 grab bars in the bathroom. She was swift, nice and professional. I liked when she used her shoes covers and mask. She cleaned after herself and doubled check the right position of the grab bars before installation with me and did an amazing job. Generally, I liked her performance, so I highly recommend this company!

The chair lift does not go up to the top step so the client has to step down to get in it. It is also very narrow and the client cannot fit in it. The lift on the deck has not work since it was installed. Mr. Ali Soltani had not made any attempt to resolve either issue. As an added note, this is paid for by the State of Maryland, so about $20,000 of our tax payer dollars are just wasted on equipment that is faulty and cannot be used.

Sol Construction LLC (Handypro of Washington DC Metropolitan) is the worst contracting company I have ever worked with. Ali Soltani, the man in charge of my disability installation, was incredibly rude, aggressive/belligerent, and unwilling to compromise. I would never work with this man/company again. When asking him a question, he left my house abruptly and in his car. He was unprofessional throughout the work and a money-grabber. He made a mistake while installing the stairlift, was unwilling to admit it - blaming me for HIS mistake, and wanted to charge me extra to uninstall the stair lift. Furthermore, he wanted me to buy another product and his manual labor (doubling the charges). This is no way to have customer service for a disabled, elderly person. Furthermore, when the work was inspected by the county, all of his work was failed - not passed due to being deemed unsafe. The outdoor lift does not work now either, not that I'd want to use it in this dangerous fashion. If you want to get yelled at, get overcharged, or deal with removal of products and bringing in another contracting company to fix mistakes, this is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this company.

They did an excellent job. In fact I'm probably going to be using them again to do some additional work on some stuff we looked at. Their specialty is handicap modifications to your house or whatever you'd have done. I got a a hold of them by calling the manufacturer of the Trusty Lift. They are in Canada where they make this product. The president of the company was basically here through the whole installation of everything. He coordinated the delivery from Canada, getting it off the truck here, getting it to the site and making sure the concrete was poured right. It was very impressive that he was here through the whole process. I give him 5 stars. Actually this was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. That's the reason we are going to do some fine touches in the spring. We run out of time to do some of this stuff because you shouldn't do concrete work in the winter. There are little touch ups on the concrete that have nothing to do with his work. I just needed it to look a little prettier so he told me he'd come back out and get it all squared away. What they did was fine, there's not a question there. I would give them a special award for a contractor. I've only done that once in the past so that's how well I think these people performed. His company deals with the whole thing, in other words, when they do something for you, they handle the permits you need, concrete work, the electric, the whole thing. This was a multi discipline area to get all of it done plus also the coordination with people from another country. I'm very pleased with what I got and it worked great.

It turned out very well. They were professional, timely and got it done in a minimal amount of time. The list was about 10 items and he spent half a day on Saturday doing them. They came out on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule, which was really amazing.

The handyman was prompt and had a professional, all-business manner. I had a to-do list including replacing quite a few burned out ceiling light bulbs ( I can't do ladders anymore because of age and balance issues), putting a closet door back on track, replacing ballast in two fluorescent fixtures, etc. I had a coupon for two hours of service, which would have been a great deal if he had actually completed all the work. He completed replacing the overhead bulbs in very short order, and it was my fault that I could not find one of the bulbs to be put in. He also completed putting the closet door back on track. He found that one of the fluorescent tubes did not need new ballast; the tube was simply not inserted properly. Unfortunately, he discovered that Home Depot had misled me about the correct ballast for the other fluorescent light, despite the fact that I gave the staffer all the relevant specifications. The handyman removed the ballast and told me to go get one like it. As he had used less than an hour of the two hour coupon, I suggested that he ask his boss if he could come back another day, at his convenience, to replace the ballast. I knew that the coupon said that it had to be used on one visit, but since I had made every effort to get the correct ballast, it really wasn't my fault that it wasn't what was needed. I thought that he might even offer to pick up the correct ballast from his shop or a hardware store. Even if he did so, his company would still have made a profit on the deal, as it would have taken less than two hours, total. I asked him to talk to his boss and then call me to tell me what was said and, if he got the OK, to make another appointment. I never heard back from him, about whether he could come back. He left the parts of the fixture on the counter. I put them into my car, so I could get new ballast. Unfortunately, since I never heard back, the fixture and the new ballast are now residing in the back seat of my car; I think I may have lost one of the screws. I was a bit annoyed by the lack of followup, as I was hoping that this would be one I'd use in the future, as I am likely to need further handyman work. Sharon, age 70.

The handyman, James, was very professional and competent. I would use this service again and ask for him.

He install the power outlet, but could not activity the outlet. I had to hire someone else to fix the problem that cost me $300.

Overall the work was OK. The person arrived earlier than scheduled, which was great. He took longer than expected. Therefore, he did not clean up fully afterward since he indicated he had to leave to get back to the office before it closed. Pencil marks remained on all the cabinets and one handle was not installed properly.

Overall, the work was decent. The machine is assembled and useable. I would consider another handyman if one is needed in the future.

The handyman called the day before to verify the time and address. He had some trouble finding my townhouse and gave me a call. I appreciated that he didn't hesitate to call me to get directions. He was only a couple of minutes late because of this. Not a problem. There was a little problem with shaving the door down. He understood from his office that the door needed shaving along the side, so he wasn't sure he had the correct tool, but he managed to do it with the tool he had and it worked out fine. The other 2 projects were done well. He didn't use a level to install the magnetic strips on the wall. I think he eyeballed them. He was almost perfect, but not quite. I know I'm picky about things like that. I wish he had used a level, but I can live with this. These 3 projects took just about 2 hours, the time allowed for the deal. I was very satisfied.

Great. I had measured and bought supplies to do the building in a couple of different ways after googling the subject. He was able to do the work in 2 hours as I had hoped and certainly to my satisfaction.

It was fast and done right.

The handyman showed up on time. He was polite and he finished the work in less than an hour.

First The technicians were very communicative- I received a confirmation call the day before which was greatly appreciated. When they were parking, and locating my unit I received a call as well. They listened as I showed the issues with the closet that I needed help on, and understood without much explanation what was needed to fix my closet. I was very shocked at the care they took to not disturb any of my belongings, as many contractors can disrupt your house without realizing. They vacuumed up all areas before leaving, and left the closet fixed, and in the precise state it was when they arrived. I was very pleased at this aspect. I talked to them about some other projects as well and we brainstormed the best way to address the issue. I will have them back to work on these other projects for sure.

Everything went well for the most part. The company responded quickly to my call, I found the quoted price of $600 to be competitive, and the gentleman seemed professional during our initial interactions. However, things broke down when the gentleman and I discussed how the work would be completed. Specifically, I wanted the tasks to be completed in phases, but he wanted to do everything at once and stated that such small jobs were a waste of his time. This was at odds with the company's policy of accepting all projects both large and small. Ultimately, I chose another company for the work due to this reason.
