We could not be happier with our new bathroom, and could not have done it without Debbie's help. She is wonderful to work with. She has great taste, good judgment, and is incredibly practical. She allowed us to envision how different things would look, and told us (very tactfully) when something was not advisable. Debbie is also fun to work with. She has a great sense of humor, and her can-do attitude made the entire project so effortless. We had dreaded the prospect of having our bathroom (which is attached to our bedroom) torn up for several weeks, but Debbie and Marvel Homes made it as painless as it could possibly be. I can't recommend Debbie enough, and have already referred several friends to her.
Description of Work: Debbie helped us with a complete remodeling of our bathroom. We have a large bathroom that was original to the house, built in the early 1980s, and it needed a lot of work. Debbie guided us through the process, using a computer app to give us an idea of how things would look with the various changes. Debbie brought us samples and suggested a lot of incredibly helpful things for us to think about. She saved us a huge amount of time by directing us to places to look at various options, and her relationships with the various vendors streamlined the process considerably. Debbie also works with Devin at Marvel Homes, and they were a great combination. Any idea that Debbie or we had, Devin could make happen.

DRGDesigns instinctively knew our "style" or decorating preferences after meeting for our initial consultation and us providing a few pictures of various bathrooms that we liked. DRG chose a couple of options for the fixtures for us which saved us an immense amount of time looking around at various stores and choices. DRG's eye for the tile choice was perfect as was her ye then for the vanity counter and the wall paint color. Working with DRG saved us so much time. DRG was very responsive by both email and phone, and was a great pleasure to work with. The $80,000 cost includes the design fees as well as the cost for the materials and remodel itself, as well as some additional fixtures for our other bathrooms. We found the DRG design fees to be quite reasonable.
Description of Work: DRGDesigns designed and decorated the remodel of our master bathroom, which included expanding our shower and moving the toilet.

I simply cannot recommend Debbie Gray highly enough. I met Debbie just after we embarked on a major renovation of a historic home in Northwest Washington, DC. Included in the plans was a massive addition that equals the size of the original structure. Exciting but very daunting, too. You can imagine how this story goes-- the work went much longer than expected and there were many bumps and hurdles along the way. Debbie Gray was my superhero of design, for the duration of the long project. She immediately began corresponding with me about my taste/ style, my goals for the house. We used Houzz, email, text, phone calls and meetings to arrive at a joint vision for the house. She listened and cared and seemed to have an innate sense of what I wanted to achieve, even when sometimes I couldn't seem to put it into words. She knew very soon just what I liked and curated beautiful things in that department. She also found and helped me place features that were never in my wheelhouse before? these are now my favorite parts of our home! (You have to see my family room fireplace!) We were constantly in touch. She was responsive and proactive. She truly became in some ways, my personal project manager. She calls herself a Kitchen and Bath designer but she is so, so much more! Don't get me wrong. The kitchen and bathrooms she designed for me are bar none. She has a keen eye and a great sense of what will and won't work. She struck a great balance between modern and classic? She brought me so many beautiful things (oh the tile samples). Her research was lightning fast but oh so thorough, whenever a problem arose. All of that was just the beginning. Debbie's work ethic, sense of urgency and pride in the final result are amazing to watch. She was tireless in her efforts, for and in my house in a way that's hard to describe. Personally painting on paint swatches, paging a mystery plumber to save the day when the sewer line backed up, ordering furniture for me so I could get her trade discount. Mind you, she was not to be my decorator and ostensibly had nothing to do with furniture. Which fact did not stop me from consulting with her on piece after piece and floor plans and color schemes? Debbie Gray gets things done. She knows and commands all of the best resources in the region and everybody loves working with her, which makes life as her client so pleasurable. I always knew I was in good hands, with every pro Debbie brought me to. Whether it was the metalworks gentleman who built my custom stove hood or the genius of wallpaper she brought in. She knows how to navigate the budget-- helping me make the right calls about where to splurge and where to keep things simple. She was always patient and never tried to throttle me while we stood gazing at the 12th sample of gray I had insisted on seeing. Debbie is the most hands on professional I know. Coming to our rental to personally measure my new washer/ dryer set for a perfect fit in the laundry. Driving us to rock quarries at the ends of the earth to be sure I got just the look I wanted, in the master bath. As you can see, I could go on all day. I will close with this. Debbie actually managed to make this whole process FUN. She is a lovely woman with a charming presence and an awesome sense of humor. She helped me achieve everything I wanted and also endeared herself to me for life. Honestly? The only bad part of this project's completion is that I miss Debbie!
