The project went really well. Tom was very nice to work with. He was quick when producing quotes and was happy to provide lots of quote with alternate options. Tom's son and partner were very professional and built the deck quickly. They explained everything as they went and made sure to get all the input they needed as they made design choices. The price was excellent and they left the job site very tidy.

Tom Pitsenberger provided a fair and honest assessment of my deck and offered several options to satisfy my requirement. My deck boards were warped, the nails were protruding, the steps were no longer secured to the platform or runner, and the overall stability of the deck was poor. While listening to my "wishlist" of desired features for the deck, Mr. Pitsenberger explainedbuilding code requirements associated with my ideas. That information led to a hybrid solution using both composite materials and treated wood. He came out with his crew to review the job, answer their questions, and confirm with me what the deck would look like and what exactly his team would be doing. The job took 2 days to complete. His crew was professional and respectful of my property and my neighbors. And they cleaned up after themselves both days. I was concerned that because my job was small I would not find a contractor interested in the work and, if I did, the price would be unreasonable. Deanwood Decks never viewed the job as too small and offered an estimate that fit within my expectations. I am very happy with their work and would recommend them.

They did a great job. The deck was well built with solid railings. The Rainescape system was expertly installed. There were no surprises. They handled everything including drawings, permits, and inspections. The deck was built on time, on budget, and exactly the way I wanted it. It's been 6 months and I've enjoyed so many moments on and below it. Still solid as a rock!!!

Tom was straightforward and easy to work with throughout the whole process. Even though I knew what I wanted, he had suggestions that improved the overall design. His crew were professional, capable, & courteous. They took care of everything through the permitting process, dealing with the inspectors, and finalizing the finishing touches. This is a fantastic family owned company that knows what they're doing and makes sure you're happy with the end product. I highly recommend these guys for any decking project.

Tom and his son were conscientious and responsive. They did excellent work, working through rain on at least one day, to get the job finished quickly. They are attentive to detail, and gave us guidance on selecting stain colors and other choices. Price was very fair. We're very pleased!

Great. Andrew did a great job, working despite a steady rain! He even cleared an external drain of leaves twice, which was totally unrelated to the washing. Tom, the owner, was very responsive to my phone calls as well.

Exactly as planned. The 3-member team (2 workers and the owner in supporting role) works hard and long hours. Very little talk between team members - almost feels that they know their jobs so well that it is all ESP between them. Tear down of old deck and replacement of new deck with a different design and layout completed in two weeks. The size: 42 X 14 - not small by any means. The price - the best value among the multiple proposals that I received. Contract was satisfied 100%. Absolutely no hassles.

took longer than expected because they only would send 1 person. Decking was not straight, knot holes were present and open. staining was never fully completed, we had to purchase more material to finish the staining. DO NOT HIRE!!!!

It went really good! They were very professional getting the job done in about a week once we secured all permit stuff. Cleaned up all mess afterwards and were very nice and respectful. They had the best pricing despite me asking for high level materials to be used (other estimates were either much higher or similar but for lower end materials). They were willing to work with me to get me exactly what I wanted and it is beautiful ramp designed to match existing porch and deck and they knocked it out of the park. Besides the usefulness of the ramp, it definitely added a lot of value to my home. I had them come back out later because I wanted to have a gate added to one area for garden access and they come out quickly and added that as well for a decent price. Definitely would recommend them to others especially for building decks or ramps as you get much more personalized service compared to the bigger companies and they showed their expertise and knowledge in building the perfect ramp for a great price. They also hit the fast timeline I needed them to do to prepare for my daughters birthday despite it being not much time.

Great! We discussed what they thought I needed and what I wanted. We agreed on the repairs needed, including new, better reinforced steps to the deck and all surfaces painted, and a price. All was done in a timely way and they cleaned up perfectly!

They came within a week, finished in 3 working days, and the results are far beyond my expectations, both in appearance and for safety issues.

Tom was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Three of his sons helped with the work (estimate, power washing, staining/replacing boards), and they were all friendly and knowledgable. I was surprised that there wasn't a bigger team to complete the job (which ended up taking a little longer than expected -- the DC summer weather didn't help...), but I was not in a rush and was happy to support a local family business.

Tom and his team did a fantastic job over the two days that I worked with them. During the biding process and after I hired him, Tom was very responsive and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Tom and his team showed up on time both days and were extremely pleasant to work with. They also did a great job power washing and sealing the ipe wood decks. The decks look like new; I am very pleased. I plan to use Tom and his team for yearly deck maintenance going forward.

Tom and his team were very professional. They were responsive to my need for a quick install and I was very impressed with their ability to be flexible with my need to change the design and add in a railing after the initial quote and start date. I have great amount of respect for Tom and will definitely use his company the next time I need work done. Our deck looks amazing!

It went great! They performed the work within a day of my call. We didn't even need to be home. I found them to be extremely efficient and effective.

Although initial scheduling took a while, Tom and his assistant, Henry, were helpful and understanding in planning the work, and accommodated the job into their schedule. Henry and his helper did the work, the quality of the workmanship was high, and they quickly fixed the problem when the first coat of paint turned out not to match the existing paint. The problem came when the job was almost complete. I paid them half up front, and the second half on what I expected to be the last day of work. But part of the job wasn't finished that day. It's a relatively small part of the job -- a post and handrail at the top of the staircase wasn't installed, so it's not safe, and part of the flower box wasn't finished for some reason. But it's been almost two months, and I haven't been able to get the job finished. My phone calls weren't returned, and, out of four e-mails, I only got one reply saying that they'll get to it soon. I should probably know better by now than to pay a contractor when a job isn't completely done. But I was rather disappointed with this experience, because I was happy with the company most of the way through, until things ended badly.

Great. Will use again for new fence project.
