+ -1 moreinherited an OLD home for my grandmother in downtown Silver Spring. Luckily, one of my friends worked for a construction company which happened to be blue collar scholars. Still, I did my due diligence and interviewed four contracting companies and eventually settled for my friend's company. The main reason was that they were able to do everything together including the back addition, fixing the retaining walls and creating a beautiful outdoor living space. The back addition is just absolutely amazing with so much light coming in and the fire pit is a fan favorite with my friends. Juan, their architect was super easy to work with and was very responsive in the design portion of the job. The weren't the cheapest but they also were definitely not the most expensive. I got some ridiculous quotes in the beginning and this was before COVID. All in all, the quality of the work has held up perfectly over the last 5 years and they never once raised the price during the job.

Austin was suppose to send quote in 2 days but its been over a week and no information was came. i have left 3 messages and email to owner SAM - same no response. if they are busy then shouldn't schedule appointments. no one in the office is courteous to call you back. I usually don't write bad review but not a professional company.

I reached out to Blue Collar Scholars based on a recommendation from my realtor with a pretty ambitious scope of work, including grading, drainage, and concrete repair. The Blue Collar Scholars team was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Sam was incredibly responsive and very transparent about what needed to be done to solve the issue and what was just “nice to have.” In the end, Blue Collar Scholars delivered a smart solution on budget and ahead of time. What more can you ask for? I would – and plan – to use them again in the future. Very well run business.

Description of Work: I needed some tree removal services and I paid Sam and the team to remove the branches. They were there literally 35 minutes later and the work was done quickly and efficiently. The price was great for the level of responsiveness over text, call, and email. Will use again
