Fantastic. After really listening to what we wanted, Steve had a lot of good ideas and suggestions that he submitted to us in a fair estimate . The work was completed in a timely manner and they were flexible to a slight change midway when we wanted the planter box included in the resurfacing. The workers were professional and did a truly beautiful job and Steve regularly kept on the project assuring that it was done right. After the initial decisions were made we kept in touch primarily by emails that were always answered quickly. This certainly was an easy and painless experience resulting in complete satisfaction.

The level of craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. The team leader(Steve) was professional and took care of procuring permits. The finished screened in porch now has a delightful ceiling fan and an upper deck with decorative railing. They stayed on target of their original estimate which was significantly less then their nearest competitor. Could not be more pleased.

Steve was very responsive and came out next day the week to view the area and discuss plans. Within the week he had sent a design that I liked and tweaked a bit to expand the area. Steve had the crew out quickly to start on the patio and it came out great. Within a year, the back edge began to sag and separate and Steve sent out someone to fix and shore up the trouble area without additional charge. It looks great and I am very happy with the service.

We had several contractors who came out to look at the problem and, realizing it was not a straightforward job, were not interested in working with us. Sean took on this difficult project and he and his crew did a fantastic job of working through a very difficult drainage problem creatively and cost-effectively. The crew was extremely hard-working and highly professional. They did a fantastic high-quality job.

The process was excellent and hassle-free. Project manager Steve Schultze kept us informed every step of the way and was pleasure to work with. Steve and is team were true professionals and skilled craftsmen. Our new deck deck is a beautiful and widely-admired addition to our home, and despite some unexpected weather delays, we were never concerned due to Steve's constant communication with us. Home repairs can often be a source of stress, but this time it was a smooth and rewarding process.

Terrible. First, they were unable to meet their obligations under the written contract. In the written contract they GUARANTEED that the roof they installed would not leak for a period of 5 years. Despite repeated attempts to repair the leaks in the lower roof, they were NEVER able to eliminate the leaks in the lower roof. Water from some leaks is running into the ceiling fans which are installed above the lower deck. Water from some of the leaks is leaking on the pegboard they installed in the shed. Second, they estimated the project would take two weeks. Instead, it took around seven months before they admitted they couldn't stop the leaks in the roof they installed despite their contractual obligations to do so. Third, during the seven months they "worked on it", weeks and months would go by without anyone returning my e-mails and without anyone showing up to continue work on the project. Fourth, the owner admitted that American Deck & Patio had not been "forthright" when they guaranteed that the roof they installed would not leak. Fifth, after they finally admitted they were unable to stop the leaks in the roof, they (at least to this point) have refused to refund the payments I made to them under the contract. Sixth, their workers damaged the wrapping I had around one of the windows on the lower deck. While the salesperson I worked with guaranteed American Deck and Patio would reimbursement me for the cost of the repairs, American Deck and Patio (at least to this point) has refused to refund the cost of the repairs for the damage American Deck and Patio has caused.

Sean Conway and American Deck & Patio stand behind their work and are true professionals. They are very busy, so during high season, you might have to wait. Sean did an in-home consultation in June 2014. It took him several weeks to get me an initial quote, but he was great about discussing the details, making changes, and providing a fair price for a quality product. They aren't the cheapest, but they know what they are doing and use quality materials. Sean is also very fair about making minor changes during construction. He's upfront about what is out of scope and will cost extra, what options there are for making changes within scope, and I appreciated that he didn't nickel-and-dime me at all. I also appreciated that he gave me advice to extend out the length of the deck and patio and not to waste money on certain bells and whistles I had thought I wanted (he was so right!!). The job itself took a while to schedule. We signed a contract early Oct 2014 and the work started in mid-Nov and took about a month to complete (had a few weather and holiday delays). The deck and patio turned out beautifully and we've really enjoyed using it! The deck materials and construction were really great. For the patio, we have had grass growth between the pavers twice (1 and 2 years later - each spring). But both times, Sean sends his crew out to reapply the engineered sand underneath the pavers without extra charge. His foreman Lenny is a very nice guy. Respectful, professional, and hard-working. And they clean up well afterwards. As much as I hate to have this grass growth, I do appreciate that Sean takes care of the issue and stands behind his work and company.

I had a great experience with American Deck & Patio -- from the initial meeting with Sean through the design and build process. I have a very small city yard and had an existing deck and wanted a screened in porch for my own enjoyment, but also as a safe place for my cats to have outdoor time. Sean designed the perfect "catio" and maximized space and improved flow by moving the existing stairs. Jaimie and his crew did such a great job on the construction; it is beautiful and so well built, and they had to do it in a really tight fenced in space. Amazing. Adding the ceiling fan and the light made it the perfect outdoor room and I have used it multiple times a day since it was completed. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out (and neither could the kitties!).

The process from sales to deck completion was fantastic. They came over and talked through the options at our home and even came back once to verify our understanding and go through the contract. The workers showed up on time, built a gorgeous deck and cleaned up the project worksite in record time. I highly recommend American Deck & Patio!

Overall, the project went really well and we love our new screened porch. We worked with Steve and had a great experience. I was a little nervous with this project so Steve explained the process in great detail. He was also prompt with answering any questions, concerns, and messages. Steve and his team were also able to come up with ideas on how to build the roof with our bump-out plus keep the size of the deck we really wanted. The team is very hard working. The project started in December and even after the major snow storm his time was out shoveling the deck and working again. We were all impressed. I have recommended American Deck & Patio to my neighbors and would contact Steve for any future projects.

American Deck did an excellent job building my new deck, from design to finish. Because of my work schedule, I was never able to meet with the designer, but he built exactly what we had in mind (only better) based on our description and pictures of similar decks we found on the Internet. My contact at the company was very friendly and quick to respond via phone and email. Construction began within a couple of weeks of finalizing the plan and was done in about two and a half weeks. The builders were professional and quick, and built with excellent quality. My only complaint is that the final quote was quite a bit higher than what I was initially quoted on the phone, and the fees for demoing the old deck seemed very high, so I ended up doing it myself. Even though the price was a little higher than I had planned based on my Internet research and over-the-phone estimate, the quality and design were well worth the extra money in the end. It was a pleasure to deal with the company and plan to hire them again to build a new patio.

We spent quite a bit of time doing our diligence with multiple contractors and online research regarding materials and installation methods. American Deck and Patio not only met the criteria we were looking for (depth of soil removal, polymeric sand usage, fine gravel base layer, etc), but they also came in with a competitive quote. Not the cheapeast, but we found that some of the cheaper quotes didn't include industry best practices/materials. And in the end, you will get what you pay for. Steve provided a great design that fit the space of our yard. He also offered some great options for replacing a worn out set of steps that lead from the back door down to the patio. In the end we went with the Nicolock pavers and a trex stair. Everything turned out beyond expectations and beautiful. As far as issues go we had a few things come up. One was logistical with a dumpster being dropped off a few day as early (not a big deal), and the other was related to the quality of the stair build. Steve took immediate action which resulted in the stairs being redone to our satisfaction. He asked to be judged on the end result of the project, and I can attest that he and the team DELIVERED! Lenny led the patio build team and all 3 guys did excellent work. The pitch is just right to keep water from pooling and the craftsmanship of the cuts and fit look amazing. I've even had other contractors come out to do landscaping quotes since it was installed that have commented on how good the craftsmanship is. I would recommend requesting Lenny and his team if they are available, but have no doubts that the other teams are delivering similar quality since it seems to be a standard set by the company as whole. If you have several quotes on the table and are struggling to make a final decision please let this review help to tip the scale in American Deck and Patio's direction.

It took weeks for this company to call me after my initial contact via Angie's List. The woman apologized sincerely so I thought I would give them another chance. We decided they would come to my home tonight at 5pm. The woman said it would be her husband that would be there, and she would contact me if they could NOT come out. Well I work 30 miles from my home so I had to leave work early. But no one showed up tonight. No one called. I gave this company a chance to come even though it took weeks for them to call me the first time. If this is the type of service they provide, I don't want it. I am disappointed because the woman seemed so knowledgable when we spoke, and I was excited to have them come out to my home. But I don't trust them to show up now.

I called this service provider to get a quote on restoring a wood deck that is suffering from sun damage. I spoke with the receptionist, and left a long message detailing the service I was looking for, size of deck, etc. I was told I would hear back within a couple of days. I never heard back from the company.

Some might question why a company deserves the highest scores in all categories but I believe American Deck & Patio is well deserving and hopefully the following review will explain why. I meet Andy Lombardo and went over the ideas and designs we had in mind for a new screened in deck. He was very knowledgeable and it turned out that he worked with the roofing company I?ve used in the past (Roof Solutions, Inc.). We decided to go with American Deck & Patio based on their reputation, past work and references. The project started as scheduled a couple weeks after our initial meeting and the deck was completed in about 5 weeks. His team was polite, professional and dedicated. Work began in some of the hottest weather of the summer and the hard-compacted clay made digging the dozen or so holes very difficult. The project was completed on time and on budget. The minor changes we asked for were easily implemented. The true test came about 6 months after the deck was completed. A problem with the patio doors leading to the deck were difficult to close and Andy promptly responded. We settled the matter quickly and to both our satisfaction. Since then, I have recommended American Deck & Patio to neighbors, friends and family. I would definitely use them again for other projects and I know I can rely on them to step in to resolve any future issues.

Sean was very thorough in his assessment and answered all my questions. He also filled me in on a lot of the things I didn't know that probably needed to know as a homeowner. I would use American Deck and Patio again in the future and I recommend them to others on Angie's.

Late spring I called to have someone to my house for an estimate to install a deck skirt and an door or entrance around my deck, the lady on the phone sounded very polite, took my information and said that someone will call me to schedule an appointment. I never received a call back. I think this is very unprofessional and I will not give any business to companies that act like this.

Provider notified me that they only perform service work and small repairs in the off season only (end of the year).

We had an idea for a complex project replacing our 29 year old wood deck with a screened-in porch, deck and a balcony off of our bedroom on the roof of the porch. (Removing the bedroom windows and replacing them with a sliding door). We found American Deck on Angie's List and met with Sean Conway, the owner. It turned out he had done a porch for someone we knew and who raved about him. Sean was extremely thorough and incredibly patient and took all of our ideas and worked with us to come up with the perfect concept. His attention to detail was terrific and touches like accent color on the trim, a built in bar for beverages on the deck and soft under railing lightening, a ceiling fan and outdoor speakers made for an absolutely gorgeous finished product. Our team of Jamie and Alberto were terrific. They were extremely dependable, took extra care to keep the mud level down during construction,were detail orientated,very professional, considerate and absolutely expert craftsmen. Sean came out regularly to inspect the progress and made sure we were 100% satisfied. The team started in late December and only missed days for the blizzard, extreme cold and pouring rain. We were glad we started in the winter as we are now set to enjoy the spring weather on our gorgeous new porch, balcony and deck. We could not be more thrilled by the service and product provided by American Deck and Patio; they were absolutely fantastic to work with and our porch is the envy of the neighborhood. Not only were there no hidden charges, Sean threw in little extras at no cost. These guys are the best - plus Sean is a diehard Terps fan - another bonus. We love the new deck and would recommend Sean Conway's company to our friends, as well as rehire them if we wanted any additional deck construction. That is the bottom line. We also caution that whenever any homeowner undertakes a project involving construction, that they stay in town and pay attention to the task in progress. Communication is required to avoiding misunderstandings so that the resultant job meets the homeowners' expectations. That is to say, there were some hiccups along the way, but nothing that could not be resolved amicably and quickly with the result that we are really happy with the final product. The Zuri decking looks like real wood and seems very tough. For 20 years we loved our cedar deck, but so did the carpenter bees, and the yearly cleaning and maintenance was punishing. Zuni is a new product and lacks a full line of trim pieces, fascia boarding, etc. Gus, the lead carpenter, is both highly experienced and skilled. Gus checked with us multiple times when he needed to improvise to achieve the desired effect. We look forward to the lower maintenance deck and railing with the Zuri product, anticipating routinely hose washing to remove pollen and leaves to avoid mildew. American Deck and Patio has a five year warranty, another positive aspect of dealing with this company.
