PATTERSON & SONS BUILDERS INC

We were out of town during Hurricane Sandy, when we arrived home it was very obvious that everything was still leaking that had leaked originally before the work was done. I called Bob and he said that he would come later that week when it was raining again(this time for a Noreaster) so he could see where the leaks were coming from. He came back and of course ALL 6 windows were leaking badly and the fire place was soaking wet all the way around in the attic and leaking on the plywood floor and downstairs in the family room. He then proceeded to tell me that my windows were "defective" and that's why they leaked and the fireplace brick was "defective" and he thought he saw cracks at the top of the chimney when on the roof. Really? Then why was he working on the flashing? Why didn't he mention it when up there? He came back after we contacted him again and brought a tube of caulk(no kidding) and spent 2 hours squirting a little caulk in the inside of the windows the whole time telling me it was defective windows fault. Really, why didn't he tell us that in the beginning? While he was there I was pointing out all the places around the windows where daylight was shining through between the window and the wood frame. I said "wouldn't the rain be coming in around all the gaps left around the windows? He insisted that those weren't really gaps the windows were sealed. If I can see sun coming through the gaps, then water certainly can come through obviously. Bob basically kept saying we have defective windows and chimney and we need to hire someone to fix those things. Unfortunately for us, we did hire someone to "fix those things" -- Not only are the leaks not fixed, everything is leaking MUCH MUCH worse than before. One of the windows is actually now broken between where the arched portion attaches to the square bottom portion- which wasn't broken before and that is now leaking. AND there is a new leak in the roof a few feet from the fireplace where they put nails in the roof for boards to stand on and that leak came through the 24ft high ceiling into the family room. Not only do we still have to get the leaks fixed, but now have more water damage, a broken window and a new roof leak.
