The inspection visit went well. Roberto was very knowledgeable about whole-house humidifiers and provided useful information during the visit for consideration given that both our furnace and AC are aging. He replaced the pads on the humidifier. We are all set for the cold weather. We appreciate the time he took to explain things in a clear and understandable way.

I’ve had an annual maintenance agreement with SILA for several years. On today’s visit, service was excellent as usual. I always feel that the technicians give my system a thorough check. Last year, I had a no heat situation and SILA responded within a couple hours. That is the reason I will continue to have an annual maintenance agreement.

Marcus was prompt and polite. He did our 6 mo inspection of our furnace and investigated when I described how our smart thermostat would restart when heat was engaged. He discovered a crack in our heat exchanger which caused the unit to overheat and cut power to the thermostat. The main office got back to us promptly with an estimate, ordered the part, and we had it fixed within a week. We have used Sila for A/C repair, furnace maintenance, and plumbing and have nothing but the best things to say about them. We look forward to continuing to rely on them!

SILA arrived same day and repaired the unit promptly

I had Marcus as my tech we was very professional and knew his job. He was automatically able to diagnose the problem and get the job down.

I chose to go with Sila because the salesperson said the it would not be invasive and only be installed in closets and in my attic. This was incorrect and misleading. They installed large tubes throughout my attic, in my living room and master bedroom. I was unaware that tubes would be visible and I would have to incur the cost of covering them. For $30K it seems as if they would have been more upfront about how invasive the installation would be. When I asked about the tubes throughout the house the sales rep referred me back to the contract. UNBELIVABLE. When I escalated it to the manager, John, letting him know that I did not receive the information I needed to make an informed decision, he blamed me! He was very argumentative and kept saying he didn’t want to argue. The icing on the cake was when the contractors left not informing the they had completed installation or showing me how to operate the system. Also they left miscellaneous parts in the attic. When I inquired about this, I was told that they do not show clients how to operate the system. Given it has been a record 90 degrees for days, without air, it would have been nice to know they were done.

Our AC started putting out warm air last night, and we called Sila first thing this morning. They called back with.a service window of 11 am to 1 pm, and Bob/Roberto was finished here by noon. He was quick and efficient and explained everything about what was going on (capacitor and leak). The price was very reasonable, and we were so happy to have the AC up and running about half a day after it failed.

Used Sila for two central AC installations and misc repair calls. Quotes for the installations were probably not the lowest available but I have been impressed with the skill and efficiency of their technicians and they have always been very responsive on any service calls. Installations were very well done and unique challenges met with intelligent strategies. I rate Sila highly and would certain use them again.

SILA representatives are always punctual, polite, and professional. This morning's annual service visit was no exception. Marcus, the representative who conducted the annual cleaning, did a great job, wore a mask, gloves, and foot coverings, practiced social distancing, and was generally just great! This company installed my home's ac system 13 years ago and has maintained it every since. The system is going strong and this is actually one of the home repair companies I enjoy dealing with!

First-rate experience from purchase to installation. The Sila staff were courteous, on-time, and answered any and all questions. Although their initial cost proposal was not the lowest received, the company worked to make a very competitive bid to earn my business. The installation team worked efficiently, took care not to damage furnishings as equipment was removed and brought in, and avoided removing/replacing trim from the attic hatch for a tight fit. Overall, a positive experience that should go towards a long equipment lifespan.

John and the team at Sila were very professional and did a fast and clean job of replacing our broken whole-house AC unit. They were less expensive than other quotes despite providing a high-quality name-brand unit. They communicated well and showed up on-time. Recommend highly.

On a scale of 1-10, I will give Sila’s water heater installation team (Marcus and Roberto) a solid 10 for installing a new 50-Gallon Bradford White electric water heater. On Tuesday afternoon, I talked to Will in Customer Service; he provided me with a fair quote ($1400) and scheduled my installation for Thursday morning. Marcus and Roberto were on-time and pleasant with their interactions with me. This is my first time buying a Bradford White unit; in the past, I used Rheem water heaters with great success. I will use Sila again (as long as the price is fair).

I would not recommend. Very poor workmanship and I still feel like I overpaid. I own a 4-unit building in DC and I have used Sila in the past to service (previously poorly installed) mini-split units. So when I decided to install new units into an apartment, I naturally called Sila for a bid. I got three bids and Sila came out the highest. But having used them in the past with good results, I negotiated down the install to $10,000. When the installation came, I was appalled by the quality of work. They installed the mini-split and utilities IN my very small closet, making it impossible to install and close a closet door. In the living room, one of the units was crooked. I was absolutely livid and I made sure Kevin (in sales) knew my feelings. They fixed the install, and everything was going fine. Then in December 2019, DC got rain and ice, and several outlets and lights didn’t work. I had an electrician inspect. Several outlets in my panel were wet. The electrician found water from the roof running down the condenser mini-spilt power cable; Sila didn’t properly seal the roof after the install. I had to spend $625 out of pocket to fix the roof and the electrical lines. I emailed my sales guy at Sila in early January 2020. I followed up ten days later, but still have no response. Don’t use Sila.
