Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

Sila checked and flushed our water heater. We originally thought that we would need a new water heater; however, due to the professional services of Sila we learned that we did not need a new one. Excellent service!

The service Technician, Alex Scott, was punctual, did his job efficiently, explained to us in detail what he did and took his time to answer all the questions we had. He was courteous and professional. We will use this company in the future. Great job Alex!

Sila dispatched Vince within an hour of my calling when the office heard my wife was 9 months pregnant. Vince was outstanding. He took time to explain the issue with my exterior and interior HVAC units. He also helped me understand how another contractor had, following a fire in our home, totally screwed up the installation of a replacement air handler, which led to the current system issues (used wrong copper coil size, did not install filter unit, did not vacuum out non-condensables, and did not install metal drip pan and float switch). Vince's observations, which he documented for me, Chris's subsequent research of the manufacturer's installation specs for the air handler, and Sila's reputation as professionals resulted in me securing reimbursement from my insurance company's warrantee to resolve the issues, which I intend to invest in a new system that I'll have Sila install. Sila never made any of their efforts contingent on new business nor pressured me. Will write another review for the new installation once complete but based on my experiences with Sila thus far I'm very optimistic. Really impressed with these folks' professionalism.

Quick, easy, and professional

Sila Heating & Air Conditioning responded immediately after my purchase of the Angie List Big Deal. I was able to get an appointment in less than a week from the purchase of the Big Deal. The company called before the technician arrived to remind me of the technician's name and the fact that he would be driving a van with the company decal and wearing a company uniform. The technician, a very pleasant young man, arrived within the scheduled timeframe and began work without delay. He mentioned the importance of drinking good water. His recommendation was for me to purchase a boiler drain cap for the dripoff of the water heater tap. My service experience was excellent because the technician performed the service, provided useful information, and did not delay his departure with idle small talk.

It was very good. They were on time and they were quite very professional. They showed up a couple of days after we purchased the deal. They were very fast. There were no issues but they wanted to make sure the system is running smoothly for the new season. They were on time. They didn't charge anything else.

They arrived on time, were very polite, showed me the parts that needed to be replaced and efficiently completed their work.

Alex arrived on time, was professional, and wore booties without me having to ask. He also was kind enough to show me how to do this for myself in the future and explained some things to me about my system. Great experience.

The technician arrived on time, was professional and friendly. He performed the service in a reasonable amount of time and was able to advise me on the frequency and timing of future checks given the age of my hot water heater and HVAC. Where some technicians would tell you to have the HVAC serviced every 6 months (mine is about 4 years old), he didn't do that, so I felt like he was being honest and forthright instead of just trying to get additional service calls.

While the service was $40 more than other Angie's list deals, I selected Sila based on their reputation. The tech spent time to answer all my questions - and they were significant since I'm having issues with a short-cycling unit that is likely oversized for my small home. He provided instructions that were customized to our odd-setup on DIY measures I could take before deciding to replace my unit. I'd use them again in the future.

The technician who came out to our house was very professional and answered all our questions. After replacing the old thermostat with a digital one, there was an area on the wall that would have had to be spackled and painted. He advised my husband to get a wall plate (purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot) and mount it behind the new thermostat to avoid all the hassle of spackling and painting. My husband did as instructed and now we love the look of the new thermostat and wall plate. We felt that the technician was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. We will definitely use Silas again.

It went well - the repairman was on time and was very informative of the condition of my furnace and what needed to be repaired and his thoughts on the cost of repair vs. replacing my older unit.

As an owner of a restaurant for 17 years I have had a lot of experience with contractors, commercial and residential. Sila was the most professional, organized, neat and lived up to every bit of their promises when selling me the system. I took 6 months to research & decide which company to use to install AC in my 100 yr old home - Sila was the best choice by far. Thank you to the entire Sila team for their on time work, customer service and organization. You guys rock! And bonus - even though we got our AC installed in Nov we had record breaking temps in the 80's the very next day - so we got to use it! Quiet as a whisper....THANK YOU. We recommend Sila highly...

I learned more about our furnaces in 30 minutes than i had in years.

I was so pleased that I went ahead and got the hot water heater flushed. Along with that the technician inspected the heating element. The safety turn off switch was burned out. That meant the water heater was heating continuously, even when it didn't need to do so. Eventually the copper bottom would develop a hole and burst the heater. I did not realize that water heaters should be inspected periodically for this problem, did you? The technician replaced the damaged item and it saved me from purchasing a new water heater and the expense and work of water damage clean up.

Sila was very professional -- it seems like a little thing, but I was really impressed by the service whenever I called in. I spoke with the same woman both times who gave me detailed information, very clear....much better customer service where I had other places (like one receptionist who didn't know the difference between a furnace and a boiler!). The technician, Jose, ran a little bit late but stayed for almost 2 hours hunting down a gas leak on the unit. He tightened that pipe connection and cleaned everything out, even giving me a quick tutorial on how to bleed my radiators and other instructions since I've never been in a house with radiators. It was great that I was offered their monthly deal (without asking) for a $79 tune up....but I will definitely be calling them back when I need more work done.

I had a great experience with Sila. They were punctual (on the dot punctual) for each meeting and took the time to explain everything to me. Every person I dealt with was extremely nice, knowledgeable and professional. They also had a quick turn around between when I booked the service and when they installed it. I would absolutely recommend them to someone else!

Amazingly well, after an initial hitch on contact from the AL special I purchased for the service (thus the "B" for responsiveness). The staff and technician were pleasant, informative, and went out of their way to get the job done. This was a special for a 21 point HVAC inspection and tune up, and the result was that the HVAC was in good shape and didn't need any additional service or work. I'd use Sila again for any future HVAC work.
