Steve provide an written estimate with many options and upon reviewing the estimates I called him to dicus. I asked him several times to make sure all items are quoted and are accurate. He assured me all are accurate. about two days later he sends me an email and said he made a mistake that he needs to charge extra $4k for duct work that he some how forgot to include. Which is unbelievable. However, I was welling to keep him on the bid list and told him he is $1600 higher than the next bidder. He first asked me to provide him other quotes so that he can make sure the quotes contain the same systems. I assured him that they did because I gave everyone the same requirements - manufacture, models, specs. etc. He than asked to talk to me by phone and I agreed. When he called he was basically asking me to spend the extra $1600 because of who he is and who the company is. When i told him it would be stupid of me to just pay the extra just because of who the company is he than proceeded to compare me price shop (hello!!! if you don't price shop than you are stupid) to shopping at Lowes or Target. He started to screaming and cursing at me because I refused to back down and told me I was not ok just paying him the extra 1600. Steve's behavior was definitely outrageous and never had deal with such an unprofessional rep from a company. Steve thought he was such an awesome sales rep he was going to get me to back down...who the h*** does he think he is???? Button line, if you want to deal with highly unprofessional sales rep than definitely call Sila.

Came to give us a quote. Told them I needed it soon. Promised it by week's end. Never received it and called twice or even three times asking about it and was told I'd get it soon. Absolutely ridiculous that I have to track a professional down to give them my business. Do not waste your time. extremely unorganized

Very professional. Did not try to over sell. Told us what to watch out for in the future. Also made a recommendation for what to do for a replacement WHEN the time comes. Did not try to pressure sell.

Technician arrived within 2 hour window. Checked and cleaned furnace. Informed us that some internal parts were rusted out due to age of equipment (27 yrs) and could allow CO into house causing a dangerous situation. Urged replacement ASAP.

Repairman was on time, professional, and efficient. He was pleasant to speak to and answered all my questions easily. I would definitely recommend them for any HVAC services and we will be keeping them in mind as soon as we need a replacement AC or furnace.

My furnace wasn't working during the blizzard. The technician came out when the streets were plowed and identified/corrected the problem, which was a faulty thermocouple for which they charged me $303 including the $98 fee just to show up. Al was goo or so I thought, my furnace went out a few days later. They were responsive and came out immediately but the technician (different from the first) said that I needed a new gas valve, new expansion tank, and new pressure relief valve at a cost of over $2200. I decided to investigate whether to get a new furnace or replace the faulty parts. I called my home warranty company to see if it was covered. They sent someone to look at it and within 2 mins determined that the new thermocouple wasn't tightened properly. He tightened it and the furnace has been working fine ever since. I called Sila to refund the service visit fee and they said they would but refund has still not posted after two weeks. So the reason for my poor rating is that the first technician didn't perform the repair correctly and the second technician didn't even try to troubleshoot the problem, but instead tried to sell me on more expensive, unnecessary repairs. So either they were incompetent or willfully trying to rip me off, or both. I went with Sila due to the good reviews on Angie's List but I will not do business with this provider again.

The boiler was making a loud noise and constantly running which was spiking up the temperature in the bedrooms upstairs. Sila sent a technician the following day and after assessment, the technician gave me exactly what was wrong and his recommendation. Before leaving, he made sure that the boiler was running properly and that I was satisfied with the service. I would definitely use Sila again for my future Boiler/AC work!

Service call made on 2/18/16....The Tech showed up (Josh, who was wonderful and very knowledgable)...he diagnosed the issue and we found out we need a new blower motor. he explained different scenarios and I was quite pleased and informed that we would hear from the office in the morning......2/19/16 spoke with the office and they informed me that they did locate the unit in VA and that the price would be X,XXX.00....yes over a thousand for a blower motor. I explained that i have seen the blower motor on line and have spoke with Carrier in Laurel, MD and they have the motor for $299....I then asked how much is the part and how much is labor. The service guy on the phone says he cannot divulge that info...so you cannot give me a breakdown in the cost and you expect me to pay over a thousand dollar for the repair with no detailed explanation of the cost per activity?? Did not sound right....I went with another vendor and received the OEM part installed for under $500 with the 1 year warranty... I felt this was an opportunity for the vendor to try and take advantage of a customer and when questioned they made us some crazy excuse about the cost being high because of training, experience, licenses...etc... Bad experience ....will never call again....too bad because the tech that came out was really great...

Our heater died -- including the motherboard of the main control unit. Sila came out (on time), evaluated the situation, gave us option of just a motherboard replacement, total unit replacement and what it would cost for a complete upgrade. With the age our HVAC being over 30 years old, we opted for a complete replacement. Today within the 24 hours since our heater died and we already have a replacement! We are VERY please with the product, the service and the quality. Thank you!

Serviceman arrived on time. Personable and professional. Showed me different components of furnace. Answered my questions re: some replacements that I am considering. Very pleased and am calling them again today to address an additional issue that came up during the checkup.

They contacted me 30 minutes prior to arrival which was appreciated. The technician was knowledgeable and very professional. He gave me a full review of the system afterwards and was friendly. I would definitely recommend.

My appointment was at 8am and they arrived about 10 minutes early. The contractor did the service but did not have the filters that fit my system. He left and dropped off (2) filters at my door because no one answered the door. I got the filters, but one of the filters was the wrong size. I called Sila back and explained to them the issue and they scheduled me right away to have them come back with the right size filter the next day. The next day they arrived again aabout 10 minutes before my appointment. The filter was STILL the wrong size but the guy left and came back with the correct size. They were very professional and understanding and I would recommend using their services again.

The person on the phone was professional and excellent, as was Alex who did the service. Everything was great, and I was very happy to sign up for regular maintenance (at my request). There was no pushiness or attempt at upselling things I didn't need like another vendor has done on a previous occasion. It was great experience at a great price!

Johnathon, Alex, Eric, and Vince worked tirelessly over two days to overcome a botched HVAC installation with multiple mislabelings to get our heat working so we could weather a cold weekend. They were courteous and upbeat and even left us with spare space heaters when they had to return the next day with a specialty part. Truly great service and excellent people.

My heat was't working when I awoke during the big blizzard last weekend. I knew that the company could not come during the blizzard, but I wanted to see if I could get on the list to repair the furnace as soon as possible. I left a voice message on the company's emergency line and within 15 minutes, Jose, the service technician who usually works on my system called me and assisted me in solving the problem over the phone. Within an hour we had heat, and the problem was solved. Thanks to Jose we still have heat and the problem was solved very quickly and efficiently. Bravo!

Truly amazing -- Sila saved us just hours before Snowzilla 2016. Here's the brief backstory: My wife and I moved into a home on Capitol Hill in Washington DC in January 2016 and within two weeks we had a serious carbon monoxide problem (levels over 800ppm). The fire department responded and turned off the gas supply early on Thursday January 21st. So we were without heat only one day before the start of the snow storm to end all storms. I found Sila on Angie's and prayed that somehow they could fix the issue before the snow hit. A Sila technician, Vince, was able to come by our house mid-day on Thursday, just hours after contacting them through Angie's. Vince was extremely professional and knowledgeable, and he took the time to explain to me what was happening in a way that I could understand. Bottom line was that the boiler and water heater needed to be replaced with modern equipment that would be ventilated out the side of the house. Vince called for another Sila representative to come out to give us an estimate. Within an hour, Brentin came by and, like Vince, was extremely courteous and professional. He gave us the estimate and said he could have a team at our home by 7:00am Friday January 22nd to do the entire project before the snow started. On the morning of Snowzilla, at exactly 7:00am (seriously, I looked at my phone), a team from Sila that I have now dubbed the 'special ops' of heating and air conditioning knocked on our door. Mike introduced himself and, like Brentin and Vince the day before, was the definition of professional. He assessed the situation and his team got to work. Amazingly, by 12:30, his team had installed everything and had the new systems for our home up and running. They took the time to show us the new systems and how it worked, and as they were going over the last details with us, the first snow flakes started to fall. My wife and I can't express our gratitude enough for the excellent work Sila did. We're sitting here now on Saturday with two feet of snow outside, and we have Sila to thank for allowing us to stay safe and warm in our new home during this storm.

It went very well. I ended up purchasing the air conditioner cleaner that you buy additional. I thought it was a good deal if you got both of them right then. He did not have the filter size for my unit. He was suppose to drop one back later and I realized he didn't. I haven't called them yet. They were here in early December. They made the offer you can buy an additional purchase to buy an air conditioning unit cleaning. The man was very nice. I didn't see the filter when I looked. I don't have anything to compare the quality of furnace cleaning with. He came within the time frame. The fact that he didn't have the filter right on the truck was okay, but as far as I know he did not come back and return it, he must have forgotten. If I'd have called them and they said oops sorry we'll get it to you and they got it to me quickly I certainly would have said A, I had to make a second call, find the paper work, make a second call, you know, stuff like this.

Service was provided as scheduled. The technician was very helpful in answering my questions regarding the flushing process.

Alex evaluated furnace and demonstrated problems with carbon monoxide and flow. Established that we needed a new furnace and connected us to someone who came out same day to consider options.Nice job.
