Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

I purchased a deal ($79) to tune up the AC system. Earlier in the year, I purchased a deal ($89) to tune up the gas furnace system. Both times, the technicians were cordial and on time. They did a thorough job.

We were very pleased with the service. We moved into a new home, expecting it might take a week+ to get a plumber in. Sila was able to come that afternoon! They were also running a great deal, which made our experience even more positive.

Went well even though there was a bit of a mix up on schedule but all resolved and spot and maintenance agreement signed.

Billy arrived promptly at the scheduled appt. He was exceedingly helpful, personable, and professional. I had a lot of questions (about current state of system and some future work I was interested in) and he took the time to explain everything and to educate me about my A/C system. I couldn't have asked for more! I rated "responsiveness" a B grade because the original dates I requested on the Angies List website did not make it to the home office. So, they missed the 3 dates I requested. However, once I called them to confirm a schedule they were extremely responsive and very apologetic about the initial confusion.

It went very well. The guy who came was on time, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.

I am not 100 % what he did, only what I asked and what I was told. He was not rude or aggravated when I did ask him any questions. He and my husband spent most of the time speaking, but we would use their service again

Their service coverage is misleading.

They didn't turn up. I had taken morning off work and had to make up the hours that evening.

First, there are still honest and great companies in the world. This is one of them. Josh, my service rep, was excellent! I was only scheduled for an A/C checkup but between the time I made the appointment and today my condensate pump also needed to be replaced. When Josh arrived I told him about the pump. He went and got one for me and came back to finish the job and gave me an incredibly thorough explanation about my HVAC unit. He also checked and replaced my air filter. He didn't rush through anything and very patiently explained all options should I ever decide to upgrade my builder's grade system. Overall, it was a great appointment. No pressure to purchase services or equipment I didn't need. That has happened to me before. I intend to purchase their annual maintenance package for my heating and a/c.

I may use them again in the future. I think they're pricing is a little off. They charge very little on coming by but they charge heavily on supplies. They replaced a wire on my furnace that cost less than $50 in a hardware store and they charged me $150 for it. But that is probably an industry standard.

We contacted Sila after our Air Conditioning started making loud bumpy sounds at night and started behaving erratically after looking at the good reviews on Angies List. The gentleman from Sila (Chris) came over the next day and had a look @ our system which was about 20 years old and told us about the refrigerant R22 which was being obsoleted and that accurately informed us that we were living on borrowed time (I had it corroborated from another HVAC tech just to be sure). Chris sat with us and provided us choices on that day regarding costs , effort estimates and patiently and professionally answered all our questions. We felt instantly that we were in good hands and scheduled a time for the signing of the contract. The contract was signed after a week during which Chris answered few additional questions we then scheduled a date of the service. On the day of the service, a couple of folks from Sila contacted us about 30 minutes before their arrival to let us know that they would be there. They arrived punctually at the time specified and Dave walked me through the entire process. He explained on the fact that it would take about 7 odd hours to replace both systems and they would make it a point to ensure our Humidifer (next to the furnace)would not be impacted. The job was completed at the time specified and after the installation, they cleaned up the area in our basement as well as outside where the AC was installed. Dave had found that the Thermostat they bought was shorted and came back and replaced it. What struck me most was their professionalism, clarity of communication (even when he was sweating heavily) and commitment to getting the job done. There were no gimmicks to sell additional Warranty or anything of that sort and the quality of work spoke for itself. You folks at Sila are thus highly recommended and Thank you Very much. Oh, they honored our Angies List coupon as well.

Sila is hands down one of the best companies on Angie's List. From the staff on the phone to the installers that came to my house. They were class acts. There was a small minor issue that Sila had to come back for. They were literally back after an hour of getting off the phone. I will always go with them for any of my plumbing or heating needs.

The sales staff was on time, well informed, and provided a well priced contract for the project. The technical staff came by after a contract was accepted and evaluated the electrical needs, the out door siting of the compressor, and measured the wall space for proper installation. The installation team was on time, well prepared and installed the unit indoor and outside in a timely manner. They watched carefully not to bring in dirt and grime from outside by putting shoe covers on at every entry into the house. They upgraded the electrical panel properly. The installation team walked us through the remote functions and cleaning procedures. Everyone of the team, the sales, the Forman and installation staff were professional and timely and prepared at every stage of the project. They were very complimentary about the Mitsubishi unit too. They turned on the unit and boy is it quiet and efficient. Sila will apply for the County permit. Sila will apply for the Pepco rebate for us. They seem to be right on top of the entire process. And they applied the Angie's rebate at the end of the contract price. They only charge 1/3 up front and will charge the remaining balance after the County approves the installation. Great job so far! Installation took one full day.

In the past they installed a new boiler in my house. I am confident they are going to do a good job for me. They have installed two air conditioning units for me.

The day before my Angie;s List service, my gas company had discovered a leak, I called SILA and they arranged to fast track my appointment. The technician performed my scheduled services and repaired the leak on my furnace for a small additional charge and sealed the furnace with tape to prevent heat from escaping. The entire job was well done,

The technician (Jose) was fantastic - polite and knowledgeable, and took the time to show me my unit and the particular items of concern. He spent a lot of time explaining the issues and potential issues, and talking through the various options, including some objective advice on a new unit. He could not have been better - great service!

I had to call them back after the service and a 2nd guy had to come out. They came back and corrected the situation just days later.

Arrived on time, courteous, and did a good job. I had a troublesome old A/C unit and they were able to extend the life for 3 more years with their annual tune-up.

The service was ok. I think they were quite good, they were prompt. They needed to have part ordered.

Arrived on time and did a thorough job. Very informative and took the time to help me understand the system better. System was filthy and hadn't been taken care of by the previous owner - now it operates much better!

They were on time, respectful, and skilled. I am confident that they did a good job.

The technician was punctual and efficient. Very easy to work with. We are planning to sign up with Sila for their regular maintenance plan.

Great service. Technician didn't have the parts available for my boiler on his truck but was prepared to order them and return later in the week. When I wanted to fix it myself faster, he was very helpful in identifying the parts that needed to be replaced and the level of difficulty in making this repair.
