The technician was on time and highly qualified. I would rate him in the top 1% of any technician I've had in the house for any reason. He figured out what the problem was (burned out glow plug) and engineered a temporary work around until a permanent replacement could be ordered. This was important as the outdoor temperature was taking a dive and our house would have soon been very cold. He really went the extra mile and I appreciate that.

Excellent. Anthony Ferrelli was on time, courteous, responsive, and efficient. He thoroughly inspected and tested our gas furnace as well as a malfunctioning connection to our humidifier. Also I find that Sila's fall special is the best price for this service offered by anyone. I highly recommend Sila and will definitely request Anthony again.

One unit was fine. The heat pump unit needs some new parts as it is 11 years old and sitsc in the roof under the southern sun and is just getting worn down. So Rob from Sila recommended the parts that need replacing. Very good company that I have used for that to perform these twice yearly checkups. Highly recommended.

Had two visits, spring and fall for annual maintenance contract, review is for events from both. Price is reasonable. However, I was unimpressed by service. Serviceman was running late but did not call until I called them after my service window was over. He recommended replacing humidifier part I had just replaced the month before, and then was forced to admit he hadn’t even looked at it, just assumed it was old. I asked why the upstairs was so much hotter than the main floor and he said “We don’t do that, you’ll have to call an air duct guy.” Then I had to call after several weeks to get the estimate for some of the other suggested repairs that he said he would email but never did. Will not be renewing my annual contract

The people from Sila were excellent. They replaced our hot water heater quickly and with attention to detail. We had an odd configuration of gas piping that also turned out to be lose, they reconfigured to make it fit the space much better and was secure. They also redid an outdoor connection that had rusted and casing deteriorated from UV rays. Very pleased with their work, fair and reasonable pricing, would hire again.

I was impressed by how hard working and thorough the workers were. They hauled the old gas water heater out and got the new one installed promptly and did a neat job. They reconfigured an awkward gas pipe near my washing machine, replaced an exterior gas hose with a UV resistant one, and checked all gas piping including our gas fireplace. We were very pleased with the end result and appreciated the fair pricing. Highly recommend.

The technician on this visit appeared to be less experienced than other technicians from this company who have provided service visits. I was not as confident with his diagnosis of the system performance as I would have liked.

Needed a furnace service before the heating season began towards the end of last year. Everyone was very helpful, we found out that my furnace wasn't working and the service tech got the parts ordered. It actually turned out that it was cheaper than originally quoted. Overall, great experience with the 3 or 4 of their techs I have seen over the last year or so.

He used my capacitor to screw into the system and charged me 275 for literally 3 mins of work.

Sila's salespeople were very understanding and thoughtful of our needs and gave us plenty of options and advice on our purchase. The installation technicians were exceptional and took plenty of time to explain the features of our new units, how to properly maintain them, and how to correct any basic issues. We've also had a free inspection and seasonal check-up from them since (which comes free of charge for 5 years) and the service tech was also knowledgeable and helpful.

Marcus did an awesome job. He was incredibly thorough, worked quickly, and provided great explanations around everything that he was doing. Being new home owners, and never having used a boiler/radiator system, we had many questions, all of which he answered knowledgeably and explained thoroughly. I would absolutely have SILA come back again, and probably request that Marcus come back again if possible.

After reviewing several options I decided to go with SILA to replace my HVAC system. Among other considerations were many of my neighbors who were replacing their HVAC systems around the same time who recommended SILA. On Friday, July 24, a SILA team arrived at 8:30am to remove my old system and replace it with a new Carrier system. At around 3:30pm they were done and I asked for my work order. I was told there was no work order. I then asked if I needed to pay them, and the installer said no. I asked for manual and the installer dropped four 100 page engineering manuals on my table and said, 'You can have these'. I asked for the air conditioning to setup and he pressed some buttons. I tipped him and his team and they left. The next morning I woke up and left the house to go for a bike ride and crashed my bike. After spending most of the day at Urgent Care for treatment of my broken wrist, I went home and that's when I could recognize that I had a gas leak. I called Washington Gas to report the gas leak. The DC Fire department came out and confirmed that the gas leak was from an unsealed gas pipe. One of the fire fighters said that it was irresponsible to have left my house with gas leaking from a pipe. I called SILA and told them I had a gas leak from the installation, and I could have died if I hadn't left my house for a bike ride in the morning, and, as it happens, I did break my arm. The SILA representative Kelly's response was the equivalent of, 'oh well, but you didn't die, and there was nothing she could do.' So I asked that a manager call me. No manager called me, so I eventually called SILA. It tooks two days of calling but I finally got in touch with a manager. He said he never heard of my story. He said he was sorry to hear that I had been sitting in my house, with my windows closed in the 100 degree Washington, D.C., heat, inhaling gas for 20 hours and that my arm was broken, but he couldn't do anything at all. I finally negotiated a warranty extension and he said he was give me a $250 refund. The $250 doesn't even come close to the amount of out-of-pocket medical expenses I accumulated because of my broken arm. The computer on my HVAC doesn't work properly - even after 3 techs from SILA came out to program the computer - each tech actually showing me how simple it was which simulataneously saying that the previous tech obviously didn't know what they were doing when they programmed the computer. Also, the $250 that Evan refunded, and sent me a picture of the receipt, it never was refunded into my account - which, I think, is, like, fraud, or, at least, a lie. I'm writing this two months after the installation because my broken arm has finally healed. I still have problems with programming the HVAC system; the $250 refund was never processed despite being sent a "receipt" of the process; and SILA didn't care or take responsibility for the shoddy installation of my HVAC system that left gas leaking into my house for more than a day before it was recognized. So, no, I do not recommend SILA. Considering the highly competitive HVAC market in the DC area I would recommend almost any other installer of HVAC systems other than SILA.

Bob and (Sila in general) has been an invaluable help for our home. He is always punctual, quick, courteous, and amenable with our dog. He even helped contain the damage when our building suddenly underwent an unrelated plumbing flood. Today he arrived and fixed our HVAC effluent u-line free of charge after spotting a potential issue on his last visit. He inspires confidence that he will resolve the issue at hand, and if not, will coordinate a response so that someone will. For routine maintenance and emergency visits, we would not recommend any other service.
