+ -1 moreI was a bit concerned about getting plumbing from a Heating and Air company, but their deal was very tempting. We did call to verify they had plumbers on staff, and then purchased the deal. I was very pleased with the service. Setting up the appointment was easy, and the office staff was friendly. They gave me a one hour window, and showed up just toward the end of the window. The job required a tool that wasn't available, so the plumber went to get the tool and the parts at the same time. I was getting a bit concerned that I would be charged for the time it took him to go to two stores to find the tool and parts, but he was clear that I would not be. He was very careful to clean up and made sure the drip was fixed - the style of the faucet lends itself to appear to drip after the water is off until water in the faucet has dripped out so it's not immediately obvious if the drip had stopped. Overall I was very pleased with the work.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. It only took about 30 - 45 minutes because the drain used was only a foot or so from the hot water heater, The water seems to heat faster now. Also, the strainers of my sink faucets are no longer getting white particles in the strainers.
Description of Work: My hot water heater needed to be drained and cleaned out as white particles were appearing in the strainer of my sink faucets and impeding water flow.

+ -1 moreIt went really well! Very punctual and professional. As a new homeowner I had a lot of questions and wanted things explained a few times to make sure I knew what was going on. I felt very comfortable with their work and felt like I knew both what they were doing and why.
Description of Work: I had a furnace check-up to get things ready for this winter for $99. They noticed the furnace needed a float installed (which got flagged in the inspection when I bought the house), and provided estimates for that as well as replacing the filter grill. The float was installed on a follow-up visit which cost a bit more. The quote I received about the filter grill was high enough that I needed to think on the price, but I didn't feel pressured to make a decision or like I was being strong-armed into getting more services done.

Description of Work: Seasonal furnace tuneup - we wanted to try a new company and found Silas on Angie's List in the Deals section for members. Silas is by far the best heating contractor we've had in 15 years. We were so impressed with the technician that came out that we picked up the annual service contract. Sure enough, a month later, something broke and the same technician stopped by the same day we made a service request. Luckily, he had the part on his truck and the furnace was back on again by lunch time. Joe Jordan is the name, we think, of the Silas tech, and he is really outstanding - polite, professional, very knowledgeable. Won't sell you extra services or push anything. In fact, we've been so impressed with Silas that we've recommended them to friends and neighbors, something that we rarely do because people don't always have the same experience as you did. Joey Jacobs is worth the annual service contract in his professionalism alone. The call center staff are also very polite - we just can't say enough nice things about this company.

Description of Work: Bought a $115 Plumbing Service Call Plus 1 Hour Labor to have a couple of things checked at a townhouse we just moved into. David was very helpful and efficient as he was able to perform a hot/cold line switch for a master bath sink, gave some advice on another bath/shower that didn't need any work but explained a pressure issue that was no cause for concern or remediation, and then did a winterization check on a hose bib in our garage and took off the hose and check all areas to make sure things were in good shape and explained what we can do in the season changeover (spring/winter) in order to turn our hose water back on and connect in the warmer weather and reverse in the winter.

+ -1 moreThe plumber could not promise that he wouldn't need to replace the galvanized pipe, but he was successful cleaning out the gunk in our pipe and reinstalling the old pipe, all within the allotted hour, so that their was no extra charge. He was extra tidy and cautious. I applaud his professionalism.
Description of Work: We have a 100+ year old home. One of our bathroom sinks has been slow to drain for a long while. Given that the waste pipe was old and galvanized, cleaning it was a concern.

I was able to set up an appointment by phone with the company, immediately after having completed the purchase online. The technician arrived on time and was very attentive. He revised the boiler and took the time to provide me with a thorough explanation of the boiler's condition. He fixed a couple of important things that weren't working well. He also explained options in terms of replacing the boiler in the near future. Additionally, although he wasn't supposed to, he kindly revised the digital display of the heating system, re-programmed it, and even put in new batteries. Overall, a very good experience.
