Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

As expected - no issues. Ended up having a new pump and filter installed, the technician had everything he needed, and cost was reasonable at $75 on top of the original $99 Angie's List deal.

Had a problem with our brand new heatpump (installed by others prior to purchasing the home) randomly shutting down. The first technician Sila sent out (within about an hour of calling) ran a diagnostic to find it was a high pressure fault in the coil and thought (understandably) it was simply a dirty filter... replaced the filter, but still had a problem with shutdown again a few hours later. They dispatched a second technician the same day (3-4 hours later) after calling back. He ran additional tests, and correctly identified that it was simply that we had too many vents closed in the house, and the coil couldn't dissipate enough heat as a result. I wasn't charged for the 2nd visit, even though it basically ended up being a "user error"... Both techs were professional and good to work with.

The technicians are professional & clearly explain the issues. The new A/C & furnace are working well so far. I like how they repaired the basement insulation that the had to disturb in order to install the new units.

It went very well. I need more Freon which I'm surprised last year nothing was said by another company. They were responsive and friendly. The young man who came to the house was very nice and informative.

It went extremely well. The technician was on time. He cleaned up everything. He was very mindful not to get the carpet dirty. He was very knowledgeable. He explained various aspects of the water heater and that it was up to Maryland code. Everything went smoothly. I appreciated their service and their accommodation.

Sila was absolutely wonderful. They came in and started working on time everyday. At the end of each day that would clean up and make sure that everything was back in its original location. The quality of work, the knowledge level of their staff and the willingness to answer any and all questions made me feel comfortable with my decision on going with Sila. I would do it all over again.

Technician walked up to door and didnt introduce himself or what company he was from (which i assumed he was from Sila but he should know how to be courteous and introduce himself). But anyway he properly diagnosed the issue and said that it would be $95 for diagnoses, 235$ for capacitor and $70 for fuse. The $95 was not going to apply to the fee to do the job. I just paid that $95 fee and had someone else the same day do the fix for $100. Too bad I didnt call that person first.

Jose was very good and honest. Best of all he did not try to sell me something I could not afford!

Billy showed up right on time!..He was very polite...I showed him where the heat pump was located, and he went right to work...he explained everything I needed to know, and went the extra mile to clean my filter and the heat pump...he even turned on my cut off valve, which is difficult to reach... hooked up my hose to clean off the heat pump...I will be using Silas and recommending them to my neighbors....Thanks, Billy for a job well done!

The men arrived on time, were courteous, professional, and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire them in the future.

We had a bit of a scheduling mishap/misunderstanding but SILA worked with me to get everything straightened out. The actual procedure went without a hitch and was probably the best one performed by SILA in four years. I was very impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of the technician. Based on my experience, SILA is a solid company that provides consistently good service.

It turned out pretty good. They did a very good job. I did most of the repair myself. I did a replacement thermocouple, after I replaced it I was looking for a flame to know that the pilot was lit, I never saw the flame but the pilot was actually lit. So when the repairman showed up all they had to do was turn on the gas and the thermostat. They were here about 15 minutes in the house, which is fine because I appreciated the fact that they didn't find anything more wrong with the unit than actually was. So they came in and did a good job. I gave the guy a call back and he was very polite in answering my question. really like that service. They really had to make a determination whether or not I installed the thermocouple correctly. So they did diagnose the problem and the guy, what I appreciated, was he told me, look, you did a good job. So they did diagnose and make sure that the thermocouple was installed correctly.

Its been almost universally positive. They installed central air conditioning, a gas furnace and are on a maintenance contract since the installation. Since I am on the maintenance contract there is no charge for the service provided. They are very responsive to any maintenance needs I have in addition to the seasonal check. They have infused the importance of customer service, friendliness and customer sensitivity. They are very easy to communicate with and they leave the area clean when finished.

I've had very good experience with them. We went into it conversation assuming that we would have to replace it. The Sila technician recommended we do not and avoided a potential 1200 expense. They are very professional, the service the technicians advice, everything. Knowledgeable and professional technician. The main thing that drew me to Angie's List is using service providers that others individuals have used and trusted and had a good experience. Sometimes I've been a little leery abut some recommendations.. I have never been disappointed using Angie's List.

The guy was very professional and answered every question that my mom had.

The serviceman was excellent, knowledgeable, personable, and very efficient. He did a great job resolving leak, and helping with the ceiling repair. He also diagnosed another potential problem. I have since had the company back for additional work. I really appreciate the warmth and professionalism of the office staff. I have the highest regard for Sila.

I was shown a price list of some ridiculous amount for toilet repair, but then was told my problem could be repaired for $80 per toilet So in addition to upfront cost, had to pay $160 for parts that would be no more than $40 for the two. Parts were antiquated and one toilet still leaked after parts were replaced. Also, that one had a leaky shut off valve that was not pointed out. So I had to get another plumber to fix the still leaky toilet and the shut off valve.

Be prepared to be lied too and bullshitted. Our sales person, Chris [Last Name Removed], lied just about everything regarding our furnace. 1) "It will be so quiet you won't know it's on. Customers have called me and said, are you sure our furnace is working?" Our new furnace sound like a jet engine taking off and can be heard over our TV in our family room. Now you can hear a rattling sound when the furnace kicks on and our basement is colder than ever. 2) I called and asked to have the system looked at. Tech came out and said of course it make noise, it's a better furnace than you had before. Oh by the way you sure purchase this air purifier which generally runs for $1100 but because Chris didn't explain things well, I'll sell it to your for $975... The furnace still rattles, still sounds like a jet engine, our basement is still cold. 3) Our contract was dated Jan 2015 not 2017. When I asked for this to corrected I got a copy of our contract that had been whited out and scanned and emailed back. No oops, sorry nothing. 4) I was told that we'd get our warrantee information from the corporate office. We haven't received any information and when I told Chris this. He send me a one page sales sheet. 5) We started with a furnace maintain for $89 which wasn't done and we asked for a refund. Chris said we'd get a refund since we purchased a new system. Never received. 6) We're told a supervisor would be on site, he was for about 20 minutes. Never said one word to my husband the entire time. I can't wait until I need to use the air conditioner. Probably more lies. This company might be great doing the five and dime services but I do not recommend you sink big bucks with this company. One positive thing I can say. The worker bees did a nice job it's just unfortunate that the system makes so much noise you can't watch TV...even though Chris said this the exact system he has and he, of course, loves it.
