Description of Work: I bought a deal for a 20 point inspection of my boiler. I was concerned about the water level in the tube because it was extremely high. I asked the technician about it several times. He assured me it was okay. It didn't seem right to me and I know not to play around with gas boilers, so I asked another company to come out. The high water level was dangerous and I needed to get my boiler repaired. Thank gosh I got a second opinion. When I contacted Sila, they immediately agreed to refund my money. I'm pretty sure they realized what a huge, potentially very costly mistake their technician made.

Description of Work: I called because my A/C had not been working. When Sila came for diagnosis, they stated all i need to do is change the air filter on a monthly basis and did not charge for any portion of the visit.

Description of Work: Working with Sila was fine, but not great. They were very lovely to deal with on the phone, I had to wait a few days for an appointment, but that was absolutely understandable as it was the beginning of summer. Unfortunately they missed my appointment window and did not inform me so I spent an afternoon waiting for no one to show up. When I called to see what had happened, around 5:05, my appointment was from 3-5, they were closed and I had to leave a message. They returned the call the next day with one available appointment time in the next week. I had to change my plans to make the appointment happen but was happy to do so as it meant a working A/C. The gentleman that came to service the unit was quick and pleasant. All in all an ok experience.

Description of Work: My air conditioning wall unit stopped producing cold air -- only the fan worked. I called Sila Heating and A/C based on the numerous positive Angie's List recommendations. The repairman showed up promptly at 8 a.m. He was polite and friendly for the entire visit, and I had no problems with him personally. However, after examining the unit for about 30-40 minutes, he said he was unable to find the compressor. I asked if he could call someone who might know where to find the compressor, but he said he did not know who to call. He also said the "Big Deal" I had bought was not applicable since my A/C unit was broken (the Big Deal only applies to a check-up for otherwise functional air conditioners). He called his boss who said that I needed to request a Big Deal refund through Angie's List. Thankfully, Angie's List has promised to give me a refund in 7-10 business days. However, the repairman then said I still had to pay the Sila diagnostic charge "because of gas, etc." He did give me the $30 Angie's List coupon discount, but I still paid $68 for no repairs. I might have given Sila the benefit of the doubt since my A/C unit is not common, but another repairman came today who was able to locate the compressor and make a temporary fix. Also, he is trying to track down a new part to complete the job permanently. In short, Sila appears to be able to handle "typical" A/C problems according to most Angie's List users. However, for me, they fell short of what I was expecting.

Description of Work: There were so many things that were completely right about the service I got from Sila. The thing that was missing was communication with the tech after the service was done. I don't know what he did! A little chit chat regarding the service with the missus would have been welcome. That's why I give the service an average rating.

Description of Work: While this was to be a routine AC inspection (which we have performed on our SpacePack system every year), we did agree to have a Hardstart capacitor to our system to help it operate more efficiently. Oscar (the technician) arrived right on time, and was very courteous and efficient.

Description of Work: Service person performed furnace maintenance on my furnace. The technician was from a different area. I don't know whether or not he performed the 21-point inspection that the ad stipulated. My receipt only shows that he cleaned and checked inducer and blower motors. All electrical and venting and performed a carbon monoxide test. I am happy to report my furnace is working fine. The technician was timely, professional and wore a protective covering on his shoes to protect my carpet. Overall I am pleased with the service I received. .

Description of Work: Oscar Robinson was the worker who came out. He easily diagnosed the problem and ordered the replacement parts and explained their service contract options to save me money in the future. Just waiting on parts to come in.

Description of Work: This was an Angie's List special for a furnace tune-up. Two technicians showed up. I suspect one was nearing the end of his training period since both seemed most competent. Besides carrying out all of the promised steps, both were very friendly, answered all of my questions, and made a number of useful suggestions.
