Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

I was very impressed with the promptness of the technician (Mike). I'm always happy when a technician already has on shoe covers before entering my home. Mike inspected my gas furnace and recommended that I install a carbon monoxide detector in the furnace room. Mike serviced the furnance and was very professional. He answered all of my HVAC/heating 101 questions and there were a lot. I mentioned a noise that was coming from my bedroom convector unit and Mike offered to assess it for me. My units needed to bled, which he patiently explained to me why that needed to be done. More importantly, he did so at no additional cost. I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to friends/family.

After purchasing the big deal, I emailed the address given to schedule. I got a prompt response back and the availability to schedule was good (4 days later). The appt. was between 10am and 12pm, and the guy arrived at 11am. He was a clean cut and well spoken guy with a clean and tidy company uniform. He had a small tool bag and a small shop vac. I took him to the thermostats and he put it on hold at 70 degrees. I told him about the furnace not kicking on according to the set temperature. He went to the furnace and said he was going to let it run to see if it trips, because that is what usually causes the furnace not to kick on. I left him alone and a while later heard the furnace shut off, I heard an electric drill noise and then the shop vac. He was there for about 10 -15 mins and then called for me. He asked why the basement damper was closed, and I told him that I thought it was open. He showed me the open and shut positions on both of my dampers. We went back up stairs and I again asked about the furnace not kicking on. He said it is difficult to tell if it doesn't occur while he is there, he looked over the thermostat and said it was properly hooked up and set. Again he said the furnace looked fine so maybe buy a new thermostat, and suggested Honeywell compared to my current Hunter thermostat. He took my coupon code, had me sign, and gave me a receipt. The receipt listed all of the services that was part of the big deal. The guy was very personable and answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease with the condition of my furnace. He reviewed what could be causing water dripping during the AC months (cracked drip pan) and said it would not be too difficult for me to inspect. I gave a B grade, But would have given an A if the guy showed me the work that he did or at least reviewed it with me at the furnace. I trust that he did something, but I would have reviewed my work with the customer.

The process took approximately 20 minutes. In addition to checking out the furanace (gas) they cleaned the filter, ensured that the thermostat was functioning properly and offered to clean/replace my humidifier filter (not necessary- I had just replaced it).

The serviceman arrived within the specified time frame. He began working on the boiler straightaway. He completed the work in probably around 30-40 minutes, and then he made a point to go to every radiator in the house to bleed them. He was very professional and did a great job servicing the boiler in a very timely manner. Sila made a very good impression and I would hire them again based on this experience.

Easy to schedule appointment. The technician arrived on time. He put shoe covers over his feet to keep from getting my carpet dirty. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He completed appointment in about in about 40 minutes.

He had to add water to the boiler while ensuring water pressure; check every radiator for hot water; walk up & down 3 flights in excess of 10 times to check on heating status: and inspect all components to ensure they were working properly.

The tech was able to arrive here 1/2 hr. early. I recieved 2 phone calls earlier. . One to set up the appointment and one ( day of appointment) to see if he could come by 1/2 hr, earlier. He was very polite. He explained what he was doinging. I had no trouble understanding him. I will have them clean my furnance again.

I scheduled an appointment with Sila. They seemed responsive and professional. They were able to schedule me within a week of me calling. The technican was within the window of time that they allotted, and I do not feel his visit was time consuming.He left, providing me with the service I requested, and an estimate for the work that I may want to have completed in the future.

Bought a 21 point furnace check service $69.00 Angies List coupon. Called Sila and was able to schedule an appointment to my convenience. On the day of service the technician arrived exactly on time. He started promptly and explained what he was doing, how the system works, assessed its condition and also informed us of maintainence tips -- like putting the filter in the right way. He checked that it was functioning correctly, cleaned the insides and even tested for carbon monoxide. The tech was very friendly and knowledgeable.W

Everything The technician did or said was merely basic. I wanted a tune up for The thermostat but I was told it was too old. Then I recently found out he didn't even check The filters. Other checks he claimed he did We cannot say otherwise, although evidence is not clear.

I purchased the big deal for a 21 point furnace tuneup for $69. I received a call to schedule the appointment and was able to get an appointment within a couple days on the day and time that worked for me. The technician showed up on time and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time.

My furnace was in good shape, but Mike performed a carbon monoxide reading and found that I had unhealthy levels of carbon monoxide in my home. He was able to pinpoint the leak, and fix it. I was asymptomatic, but am VERY GRATEFUL he took that CO reading!

the person came a little late than the time of appointment but because I am home it was not a big deal. He was very polite and professional. He wore some kind of plastic to cover his shoes so as not to leave any dirt behind. Went up the attic and worked on the unit. Then checked the unit outside the house that correspond to the unit in the attic. When he finished he handed me the paper work, have me signed and left. But before he left he told me that I can call them for anything that I think did not went well. I did not call them because I believe they did a great job.

Company was very good to deal with. Technician showed up a little late - but called in advance to let me know. Did a very professional job of cleaning and checking my furnace.

John and their estimating process was VERY professional and included measuring windows. I chose another company primarily because of price, other things (aside from estimating process) being fairly equal.

arrived on time. told me little things about furnace operation. nice outfit but unfortunately what they want for an on going maintenance contract was way too high for me.

This was a great deal! Joey arrived on time, was friendly, and performed the work in good time. We also had a question about our flue pipe and he checked it out for us right away, explained his diagnosis, and honestly said he thought it wouldn't be an expensive fix. He will be getting back to us with an estimate. He didn't try to sell us on anything (which is what we thought would happen when using a deal/coupon). This was an enjoyable experience!

I cannot recommend Sila and found them to be incompetent, at least in this case.

From the time I purchased the Big Deal, I received a call the next couple days to schedule an appointment. They were proactive and flexible with my times. Joey did an excellent job of walking me through the process. I wanted to learn what he was doing and had some questions. I wasn't familiar with the prior work performed since we moved in 3 years ago. He explained that our 10 year old furnace and was very good shape and it had previously been cleaned. I am happy with my purchase and Sila.

The job went well. The repairman noted a problem with the exhaust pipe from my water heater that was leading to an increased carbon monoxide reading in the basement. He applied a temporary patch to the pipe until I could contact a plumber to fix the problem.

the serviceman was prompt and professional, gave reasonable advice, and did not come up with a long list of extra things to do that would cost additional money! very good service.

They say the heat exchanger is cracked and needs replacement....perhaps the whole furnace since it is over 20 years old. Cleaning and adjustments were stopped by me (owner) at that time since furnace might be replaced.... after service personnel left, the heat would not come and stay on. A check discovered the purple wire to heat sensor was not reconnected upon completion of cleaning ( I saw him clean it). I reconnected wire and heat returned....sloppy work...and they failed to check furnace worked before leaving...

The technician showed up ontime and performed the work as requested. He changed the air filters and answered all of my questions. I'd definitely use again.

I am completely satisfied with the work performed. The techician was timely, and offered maintenance suggestions. I accepted the water heater suggestion for an additional $30.

I had a great experience with this company, from the tech to the salesperson to the installation of our new furnace. I would highly recommend them for any heating/air conditioning service.
