This is the best HVAC company we've ever had, by far. From the girl answering the phone to the Service Tech (Oscar) sent to our home, they were very courteous, prompt, and professional. Oscar was just great. Came to our home three different times. The first time was to do the annual maintenance check. Arrived right on time. The next two times, he arrived early. Our orig. condensation pump was incredibly noisy, so he took the time to research and order a couple of quieter pumps to see which one might work best in our situation. Very knowledgeable. Definitely a problem solver. No hard sell or attempt to talk us into something we didn't need. Fair and dependable. Would absolutely use this company again and have already given their number to three neighbors.

Joey was my technician. He was outstanding. He showed up early for my appointment. He explained every aspect of the service he was performing it. He encouraged me to look over his shoulder while he worked. He was very detail oriented. He even gave me a $30 discount for being an Angielist member. I could not have asked for a better service call. I would definitely use Sila again and recommend their services to others.

The technician checked and cleaned the outside unit and flush the inside unit and refill the Freon which was low . Also showed me how to adjust the dampers which was very helpful.

They did a great job with the installation; especially the installation guy that came out was immaculate. They kept it clean and I couldn’t have been happier with them.

The technician, Oscar, was on time and very professional. I purchased a home 18 months ago and this was my first time having the AC serviced -- which means that I had a lot of questions. Oscar patiently answered ALL of my questions and walked me thru the basics of how the system works inside and out. I highly recommend Silas. This is my second time using Silas and I love the fact that they have their techs put on those shoe covers, which I really think are unnecessary but the attention to detail is impressive. I have had two great experiences with their techs and will definitely be using them in the future!

Sila rep promptly showed for estimate to replace system. Gave estimate on the spot which was lower than other estimate obtained. The system is in rental house and tenant with 2 small children was going to have to move out because of heat. Sila promised installation in about a week. Sila offer to get window units for temporary relief, but then decided to install system on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, 5 days before their offer proposed installation. Everything was professionally done. Great service!!!

The experience with Sila Heating & Air Conditioning was very good. They pretty much did what I expected them to do when they came out. I'm very happy with them. This is the third transaction we had with them. That's the reason why we kept coming back.

The technician arrived promptly and was courteous. He did a thorough job. He commented about the offered service plan but did not try to oversell it.

The provider showed up within the specified time window. He was courteous and proficient. He explained what he was doing and suggested maintenance activities that should be performed on my system. The whole visit took around 40 minutes. I would use this provider again.

It went well, but I needed to wait for it to get warm to test the unit. The unit is working fine as of 06/11/13. Oscar, the tech, did a good job.

Initial scheduling was easy and the customer service rep was very friendly & accommodating when I had to call back to reschedule. I was given a 9-11am service window and the technician showed up at 9:15. He was very pleasant and professional. He pointed out that while our heater & AC were functioning well, they were 14+ years old and would soon start to show their age. He told me about Silo's service plan, which includes parts, labor and 24/7 service. Offered to apply the $79 Angie's List voucher towards the $474 annual service plan. When I told him that my husband & I had to think that offer over, he didn't press the issue. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience and our AC is working well.

I hadn't had my AC systems serviced since I had moved in (2 years ago). Turns out they really needed it! He was very professional and gave me a lot of good tips to improve the efficiency of my units (move TV away from intake, change filters more often, prune bushes around outside unit, etc).

Oscar was very professional, knowledgeable and would high recommend him. We are considering buying a maintenance with Sila, though they are a bit on the 'high side' but Oscar indicated that it covers everything, including parts and repair. He came back on May 3rd to do a follow up check on the freon and it was running fine but it still is slowing leaking out. The cost of doing a freon leak check will be costly so again, will consider maintenance contract as it would be covered.

They arrived on time. it took about 30 minutes to services my system. This is the second time I have used them. They are professional, friendly and reasonable. I plan to use them in the future. No complaints.

Initially requested HVAC cleaning and maitnenance service for my new condo per recommendation home inspector. Kid who showed up was friendly but seemed to have little ideas as to what hes doing. Told me that he was not able to perform service because my system is a "commercial unit" (its not). In reference to home inspectors note that the heat did not seem to respond as quickly as it should when he turned it up, the Sila technican said the heat did not respond because my system was centrally controlled by the building management and they had likely already switched the system from Heat to Cool at the time of inspection in April - this it turns out is also not true. While the technican said he could not perform the requested service and would not charge me - he did poke around at my system and then sprayed it with a "self cleaning" solution. Fast forward less than a day and my AC which had been working fine since the inexperienced began poking around at it - suddenly quit working. I was not able to address the issue until a couple of days later because I had too much going on that weekend - so suffered through 90 degree temps with a broken AC. When I did call on Monday the 27th, Sila did get someone out in the eve to look at it. This person confirmed that the first kid had no idea what he was talking about and that my system was not a "commercial unit". He disappeared to the roof for quite a while then returned and said the issue was that a capacitor had failed and needed to be replaced. Having not retruned from the roof to tell me what was wrong and give me an estimate of reapir costs... he handed me the part and said I owed him $228 for the part and becasue the problem was not related to wrok performed by the first technican he also "had" to charge me $98 for the "diagnosis"!? With regards to whether the sudden failure of my AC system was related to the initial poking around by the unexperienced Sila kid before he said that he couldnt perform the service... well, I work in Statistics and we do have a saying that "correlation is not causation" so maybe the 2 events were not actually related. However, we also have a saying that while correlation is not causation - its usually a very good hint - especially in this case where the system broke right after the kid poked around at it and left. In any case, they should have asked me what type of system it was and made sure that they person they sent out the 1st time knew what he was doing. I needed to take time away from work to be there for a service technican who says "sorry cant service this commercial unit" and says a number of other things which prove that he has very little idea of what he was doing??? and then the second guy has the nerve to charge me $98.00 for a diagnostic after the 1st kid already wasted my time and may have indeed broke my system???? You have got to be kidding me! Please do not use this company ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITYLINE AT TENLEY CONDO OR OTHER DC CONDOS with similar systems. The junior technicians at SILA clearly do not have experience with these systems.

Sila was fantastic in every aspect of service and professionalism. A brass pipe leading from my central airconditioning unit to the wall was covered with ice. The unit wasn't blowing out cold air. It was turned off and I called Sila -- among other vendors. When I originally called, the Sila representative told me it would be a week until they were free for an appointment. I booked it anyway because they got such rave reviews on Angie's List while looking around and getting someone to come in earlier. Then Sila called me a couple days later, saying they had day-of availability due to a cancellation and did I want to take it. I said "Yes!," and we booked an appointment for later that day. The service person, Oscar, arrived and was an amazing professional. He slipped on some coveralls over his shoes as he was entering the indoors, which was greatly appreciated since it was raining. Throughout the service call, he took care to always do so even though he had to go in and out about three times. I have to say that Oscar's manner felt very therapeutic in delivering the diagnosis. He listened and looked to see what was the matter, offered the possibilities, then proceeded to eliminate the certainty of the problem. It turned out the unit was low on freon and he proceeded to fix it. Everything was satisfactory and done with care. He offered helpful tips in terms of maintenance, both for the short-term and long-term. I'll definitely be using Sila again when the need arises.

It was great. He was very knowledgeable. He found a leak in the system and fixed it up the next day. Everything turned out great.

Working with Sila has been excellent. From talking with them via email or phone, they have been very responsive. I have to initially cancel my appt due to an emergency and they were very accommodating, even though i canceled the appt 4 hours before they were supposed to arrive. They even re-scheduled me for the same appt a week later. When they did arrive, the tech was right on time, introduced himself and got straight to work inspecting the AC unit. He spent a good 1.5 hours reviewing all the aspects of the AC (indoor and outdoor). In the end, he told me about the service contract and I decided to go for it since I do not much about HVAC systems and when they fail, they always seem to fail at the worst possible times. This turned out to be especially true as 2 days later, my condensation pipe clogged up and overflowed into my furnace room...at 930pm! I called Sila and he helped diagnose the problem and when I said i was a service contract customer, he said he would be there in an hour. He arrived 30 min later, unclogged the pipe and the system was back up and running in less than 30 minutes....nothing short of amazing! The service contract price was a little high, but frankly, it was well worth the price.

Overall great service. Oscar from Sila arrived aprox. 30 minutes into the scheduled time slot. He was very friendly, took care to keep the house clean, and listened while I explained the issues we've had. He then inspected both the outdoor unit and forced air components of our A/C. He offered many points of advice on how to help the system run more efficiently and seemed to genuinely care about keeping our costs down. I will absolutely be calling Sila again in the fall when the furnace needs to be turned back on!

Technician arrived on time, was very professional, and answered all questions I had with a high degree of knowledge. I was very impressed with the responsiveness of Sila, and will definitely use them again.
