Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

Excellent job. I work at home so was home during the install. The crew was professional and courteous. They installed the high velocity tubes and vents with no damage to my walls or floors. It's a 90 year old Craftsman home with plaster walls so that is not easy. They did additional things like disconnect and remove a central AC fan unit in the basement at no additional charge. They organized my attic after the unit was installed so everything was completely back to normal. Everyday they were on time and worked long days to finish the job in just 4 days. When they would leave they would clean everything up including materials that were outside. The AC system is excellent. This is one of the best companies I have ever worked with. Highly recommended.

HVAC technician arrived on time and within 30-40 minutes was able to determine that my A/C had stopped working due to a leak. The technician was also able to pinpoint the leak and succinctly provide the steps needed for repair and an estimate.

Appointment was easy to make. Serviceman arrived on early side of the appointment window (a plus). He was efficient, professional, personable. No attempt to sell additional services. Responded to all questions.

I contacted Sila after a search here on the list and am very glad I did. I have had two other companies come in to check on the system and the Sila tech was the only one who thought to check the electrical breaker panel, which turned out to be the root cause of our heat pump failure (the switch had somehow been knocked out of its anchor point on the panel which shut that circuit down). They also accurately identified the age of our system (which, to their credit, the two other technicians estimated accurately as well). However, in addition to looking at the breaker panel, the Sila tech also showed me some details about the compressor unit to check to ensure it was funtioning properly, which the other two technicians didn't. The upshot is, as our unit is nearing the end of its useful life anyway, we'll be replacing it as soon as we've set the money aside, and when we do Sila is at the top of our provider list. I'm *very* impressed with the service and knowledge displayed.

Got an appointment the same day for a two hour window. Technician showed up early after calling to confirm. Quick diagnosis, good explanation, and fixed the problem correctly.

Went well. The tune up was done fast and professionally.

Rich from Sila came to our home to provide a free estimate for a central unit (A/C) in our home. Rich was on time and very professional. He left with details needed and said we'd receive an estimate after the 4th of July holiday weekend. I had to call twice just to get the original meeting for the estimate set up, and I've called and emailed to see about the actual numbers and have gotten absolutely no response. Based on this I would certainly not feel comfortable with Sila completing work.

He came out and said you have a strong air flow to the lower registers and a very faint flow to the upper registers. I spoke with him Friday and he said he couldn't fix it but would report it and I would hear back from them on Monday. I never received a call Monday. So I called them and left a message and didn't receive a call back until Wednesday. When I called to request the service I told them what I was experiencing and they said that it doesn't sound like you have a problem we can't just come out to inspect your air conditioner. I talked to them on the phone and they said that they would send someone out to give us an estimate and I told them that they had already come out to give an estimate. I ended up calling another company and they came out and fixed the problem right away.

Very good. Technician showed up on time, wore booties over his shoes, and performed my service quickly and professionally. Answered all questions I had and made good suggestions for future.

Sila specializes in installing mini-ducts to get air into places that we hadn't been able to before. The did everything exactly as promised and got everything done in time. There was one small problem and they came back right away and got it fixed. They were not the cheapest of the service providers that we had looked into, but because they specialize in the high-velocity ducts, we went with them. They even provided us with references to call and check, so that made the decision easier. I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Answered all of my questions, knew his job well, made recommendations about what I needed to do additionally, no hard sell on any additional services. Will continue to use Sila for all of my furnace needs!

The staff at Sila are very professional. They were up front, punctual and friendly. They came to my house diagnosed my problem and gave me a price for two different options. The installation was on a very heavy rain day. They did not cancel and were very careful not to track water inside my house. Everything went according to schedule and I am enjoying my new air system. I even got a discount for using Angie's List.

Chuck showed up on time. Introduced himself and had no problem wearing show covers. He performed the service excellently. He mentioned that when the yard is cut that clipping should not go onto the condenser lines and cleaned off my lines voluntarily. He entered the serial numbers of the units on the receipt, mentioned the service agreement that they offer. He also gave me a history lesson on ac, heat pumps and how long they last. Great customer service from the initial phone call setting up the appt to the technician performing the service.

I called into the number included on the deal the same day that I purchased the offer and was able to schedule the appointment for the same week. On the day of service, the technician, Oscar arrived promptly at the schedule appointment time of 8AM. I accompanied Oscar as he conducted the inspection so that I could ask questions as he worked. Oscar was fantastic! He patiently answered all of my questions and was very helpful in explaining the work and why the different parts of the tune up were important for system maintenance. During the internal review, Oscar noticed that my water heater was in urgent need of replacement. As he pointed out, the entire bottom area of the water heater was corroded with visible sediment built up on various parts of the unit. I decided that I wanted to replace the unit as quickly as possible and Oscar assisted in getting a follow up appointment scheduled for early the following week.

They charge 98 dollars to get an estimate.

My experience with him was very good. He was here on time. He gave me a window between one and three and was here close to one. He explained everything that he was doing. He was pretty good compared to other services that I have had from other companies.

. I called the after hours emergency line and instead of getting a voice mail or answering service, I got Joey who offered to come over as soon as he finished dinner. He arrived in about an hour as he said he would and quickly diagnosed the problem. He offered to rig the motor to stay on continuously so we could have AC until the part came in. Heck yea! He suggested that I could save money by (them) purchasing a universal control board. Good suggestion as it saved me about $150. The part came in about a week later, Joey fit me in at 6:30 AM and voila, in an hour everything was up and running normally. I was pleased with the service given how busy this firm was. Joey was polite, cleaned up and was very professional. I gave the firm a "B" for price because I shopped control boards around on the internet when I considered doing the repair myself, and they cost about $125-$200 so the labor, overhead and profit were around $350. Not terrible but not inexpensive either. I called another shop to get a price and they were more expensive. I'd use Sila again given the level of service I received.

The provider was suppose to perform routine maintenance for my airconditioner. Well, what was supposed to be routine maintenance ended up being, "so called" various problems!! This guy was saying that the airconditioner was old (bought it 4 years ago) and it would be better to replace the airconditioner and the furnance so it wouldn't cost a lot in the future. I wanted to show if the door but I have a new born...... I'll never use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The service went wonderfully. My tenant, who's unit was involved, was extremely happy. I think they owe me a little bit of a refund but I haven't looked into that just yet. The unit was top of the line. They did a really good job. They're going to be my service provider for both my heat pump air conditioners.

It was the time of year when the furnace needed to be checked out before the really cold weather arrived, so I took advantage of the special coupon Sila Heating and Air Conditioning was offering on Angie's List. They had very good ratings and that was impressive. Joey was professional and efficient. I liked them well enough to call them again January 28 2013 to check out my humidifier. I would certainly recommend Sila in the future. .

Sila was great from start to finish... Always friendly, looking to find solutions, straight-forward and punctual. I should start by explaining, that 4 months earlier we had contacted two of the larger HVAC companies in the Metro area, and received terrible customer service - one was a no show and the other only wanted to sell us a new unit (our existing unit is only 7 years old). When we pressured them to give us a price to move the existing one, it was $2400. That seemed a little high. So we looked on Angie's List and found Sila. We told them about our dilemma... the A/C unit was using a piece of the back yard where my wife really wanted a garden shed. So we wanted to move the unit to the side of the house. Rich Kelly(Sila) came by a week after we called and walked us through the process of moving the unit. Also explained, the timeline of moving it.. we might have to wait 3 weeks, since they were now in the middle of "busy season". The price quote was $1700... seemed very fair, so we agree. About a week later, Rich calls and says he has an opening in two days (Monday)... Neither I or my wife were available to meet the crew at the house, so Rich said he would stop by and P/U keys, if it was OK with us... That Monday, I came home to an Air Conditioned house and the unit was right were we wanted it. The crew was very nice, professional and insured the unit was working properly before they left. This was a great company to work with... wouldn't think of using another Heating or Air Conditioning company now.

Sila's technician, Joey, was punctual, careful, clean, and informative. I showed him my inside mechanicals and then my outside mechanicals. My heat pump is about 15 years old. He did not find a leak for R-22. That particular coolant is going to be phased out in 2020, so I will eventually need to replace my system, but not yet. Many companies will try to sell you the coolant because it is very expensive to replace. Joey said I didn't need to add any. He was honest and didn't try to do a major sell job on me of getting a new system even though my system is older and will eventually need to be updated. I appreciated his honesty. I was very pleased with Sila Heating and Air Conditioning and would recommend them to my friends and family.

Having called as a new customer in high season, we had a wait some for our appointment, but once the technician was here, things went very smoothly, professionally and amicably. Our guy Joey was personable and patient in explaining what needed doing, the bill was clear and transparent and within our expectations. We signed on for Sila's annual servicing plan.

I purchase the Sila A/C Tune Up package from Angie's List and I'm glad I did. I called immediately after purchasing the package and got an appoint. The technician, Oscar, who came out was great! Our appointment was an 8 am and he arrive promptly. He was extremely through and explained everything he was doing/testing. I would highly Sila and Oscar for anyone who needs HVAC work.
