The techhnician arrived on time. He was very curious & knowledgable about heating systems. It was a rainy day, so he put on special aprons over his shoes to help keep our floors clean. He spent about an hour inspecting, testing, & cleaning our boiler. Everything was fine. I had such a great experience, I asked about their annual service plan & signed up because it seemed like a good deal.

Very easy to set up an appointment time. Service tech. arrived on time and completed the job quickly and efficiently. His name was Joey Jordan and he was easy to talk with and polite.

The guy that came was great! the heat pump furnace we have hadn't been working properly for some time. before he even began the 21 point check up, he told me a lot of information that I didn't have any idea about. When he completed the check up, he gave recommendations for how to stretch the life of the furnace as far as possible, and he told us about some reasonably priced service options we may want to take advantage of. The entire meeting was exactly what i had hoped for and more.

This is a good company. Quite busy, so hard to get a service call same-day or next-day. But very punctual once they are scheduled. Prices seem average, but I trust their analysis and repair of problems, and they stand by their work.

This company rocks! Super efficient, courteous, and quick! Heat was out on a Sunday, got a call to set an appointment on Monday 8 am. Joey (tech) came out at 10 am Monday and the heat was on by 10:30 am! Wow. They even called ahead to let me know when they'd be there as to not waste my time. They also communicate via email which for a busy professional who is on conf calls a lot is critical. Will definitely use again.

Came home from work on Wednesday evening to discover our upstairs furnace was not working (thermostat had gone completely blank and no air was flowing). Since it was a bit chilly outside (maybe 15-20 degrees) this left our upstairs bedrooms at around 60 degrees. Called Sila around 7:00 that night. Had to leave a message but Joey called back within a few minutes, asked a few questions to get an idea of what the problem might be and then said he could be out at 8:00 the next morning. At 7:40 the next morning he was in our driveway. He came in and took a look at the unit, went outside to check a couple of things and came back to tell me our outside drainage line had frozen which caused a backup in the condesate line which then caused the unit to automatically shut off. Gave me a few recommendations as to how to help alleviate this problem going forward (which I may or may not do as it doesn't get that cold here that often). In any event Joey was very responsive, friendly, and professional. This is my second time using Sila and I have been very pleased on both occasions with their service and their fees, which is a pleasant surprise given my previous experiences with several HVAC companies that had not only bad service but tried to milk every cent out of a job as possible.

The tune-up was less thorough then I expected. Technician cleaned components of boiler. He did not empty expansion tank or perform more detailed tune-up services such as bleeding the system or trying to improve efficiency. It turns out that 3 weeks later, boiler didn't even work. It wasn't their fault but left a bad taste about whole experience. Overall, I was disappointed for $69.

Terrific - I called the company at 8am they gave us a two hour window of 10am-noon same day for the technician to arrive and he showed up at our house at 10:15am. Within no time he (Oscar) had everything running again - taking the time to show me exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done. Oscar was smart, friendly, good at what he does, and overall very helpful. The whole visit took 45 minutes. I would definitely work with this company and Oscar again.

Yesterday morning I discovered water coming out from under my furnace. I looked on Angie's List and found Sila had a great rating so I called them. They scheduled a technician to come out at 8 this morning and offered a $30 discount for being an Angie's List member. Since I had someone coming out, I also mentioned two other ongoing problems I was having -- running out of hot water quickly and an air vent where the fan didn't appear to be working -- so they said they would charge twice the diagnostic fee to look at all three problems. Joey called me at 7:30 this morning to say he could be here earlier if that was fine with me, which it was. He immediately recognized what was causing the water problem. My furnace pumps condensation outside and the pipe had frozen so the water was overflowing onto the floor. I decided just to wait for it to thaw out (temp is going up by the end of today) and he suggested I might want to turn off the pump so it wouldn't keep running and burn out. This is fine because it's not a lot of water and I can manage it with a towel on the floor until the pipe thaws out. Re. the hot water, I had thought maybe the dip tube was the problem but he pointed out my water heater is only 30 gal, which is smaller than average. And the vent issue was just a factor of being too far away from the furnace so nothing could really be done about it without an expensive overhaul of the duct work. Joey answered all the questions I had clearly and respectfully. Because it had all gone so quickly, he only ended up only charging me the single diagnostic fee with the AL discount. I would definitely refer Sila to others based on this experience.

We came home from work to a cold house during the biggest cold spell in 20 years. I called the emergency line and Joey showed up within an hour. He quickly diagnosed the issue, the condensation line exiting our house was frozen which was preventing the furnace from turning on. He was able to make a quick fix to get our heat working again. He was upfront that this was not necessarily a long term solution and did a good job explaining our options. Overall I was very impressed by his prompt and effective response and would highly recommend their service.

Sorry to say that it did not go well, here is how it went: Technician quickly inspected the furnace upon our request because we have had soot expel from our heat pipes; technician again quickly opened the unit cover and told my husband the radiator was cracked and we would need a brand new furnace. He did not explain and quickly closed the unit back up. Shortly thereafter (about 3 hours) a Sila estimator arrived at our house and gave us a quote for a new furnace and installation - $7500. We had two other HVAC techs inspect the furnace and were told that only the plastic door to the unit was cracked, the furnace needed to be cleaned. He charged us $100. I am confused as to why so many reviews on Angie's list focus on whether the technician/service provider is "nice and friendly." That doesn't tell me anything. These ratings to me are really useless and I could have paid this company almost $8000 if I had rated this technician and company on how "nice" the service agent was to us. Reviewers on Angie's list are not always evaluating competency and professional ethics.

I scheduled an appointment with a technician for a repair for my furnace that had stopped working. Since the temperatures were dropping to record lows over the next couple of days, I needed a repair quickly, and asked for the first available appointment time the next day. The office was able to work out an 8am appointment time by moving some things around, and the technician (Oscar) showed up before the scheduled time!Within fifteen minutes he diagnosed the problem and had a repair in place within the hour. Our furnace and A/C is also pretty old, so I asked Oscar for an opinion on the remaining service life of the unit, for which he recommended a seasonal maintenance inspection to thoroughly check out the system. He performed the check, and I was glad to know everything was back to a safe operating condition. I was pleased with the obvious technical knowledge and honesty at all times during his work, and highly recommend this company, and especially Oscar, for any HVAC needs.

I was able to get a next day appointment to repair a furnace that kept cutting off. Joey arrived on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and made the repair. He was professional and courteous. I will certainly use them again.

It went well. The technician was on time. He explained everything he was doing throughout the service visit and answered all of my questions.

The costumer service was great, the person answering the phone was very cordial, very accommodating. The service itself was great! The appoinment was at 8:00 AM and they arrived at 8:30. But the person performing the service was very nice and knowledgable. I will use them again!!

I was impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and attention to detail of the Sila service provider. Over the past two winters, we've hired multiple contractors to inspect and fix our furnace. Our unit constantly overheated on cold days, and required daily resets of the limit switch and fan. Despite all of the visits and $'s spent, not one company could resolve the issue and recommendations were as far-fetched as redoing the ducts. Then came Sila. It was the first contractor who went through all aspects of the furnace to ensure it was tuned and operating correctly. The service provider listened to our concerns, optimized the settings on the circuit board and adjusted the valve pressure to a more normal range. Success! While it was a simple fix, Sila's attention to detail and patience with the system enabled us to make it through cold nights with a fully functioning furnace. I highly recommend Sila for your furnace maintenance.

Oscar was very thorough and gave some good tips. Both Angie's List Staff and Sila offered terrific customer service. Would recommend both.

Our gas furnace stopped working. They responded immediately and were able to get someone to my house within 2 hours on a Saturday. Before coming out Oscar, the technician, took the time to ask questions and give me advice over the phone. Upon arrival he quickly got to work, identified the problem and took time to educate me on what he thought was needed. He also took time to check out other aspects of the equipment. He walked through my warranty to determine if parts were covered (they were) and made sure that I understood the part of the of the warranty relevant to the repair at hand. He also walked me through other parts of the warranty to ensure I understood they system as a whole. He was very clear, gave me options, made a recommendation and took the time to listen to information about past repairs conducted by other vendors. It was a very good experience.

I purchased the Big Deal from Angie's List for a home system check and installation of a programmable thermostat which I've wanted for a while. The company that I had been using no longer does HVAC house calls, so I thought I would audition SILA by using this deal. Everything was handled really well, and I think I've found myself a new service company. Awesome!
