They upsold me on a maintenance package, so I had them out for my winter tune up as well. They found that my compressor had grounded (wasnt a total surprise, nor the issue here). The gent doing the service claimed that my fuse box pullout assembly had, and I quote, "disintegrated". This, the piece that is housed within a weatherproof box mounted to the side of my house underneath an eave. I hire someone else to do the compressor replacement job (nearly $1k less expensive on a job they quoted $1950 for. The compressor WAS UNDER WARRANTY!), and they informed me that the part had been taken and the box had been tampered with to prevent a replacement part from being plug-and-play. When I called to confront them, they again claimed the part disintegrated and that it wasnt their problem. They dont deserve your money or your trust, so dont let them in your house or on your property. THIEVES.

They were great, they were on time, they were professional, they were responsive to any questions or concerns I have. It took a whole day to put this in and they forgot to put outside filter but they came the next day and put them on.

Sila was one of three companies I contacted for estimates on replacing my oil-fired systems with heat pumps. I have a boiler and two forced air furnaces, so the work would be extensive. I contacted Sila because their reviews were favorable, they sell Carrier products (which I was leaning toward), and they sell high velocity systems, which I felt might be a good option in the older part of the house where I don't have ducts. I was prepared to really go over the things that work well with ducts in the house, things that don't, and what my general asks were for the systems. The salesman was pleasant enough, but seemed completely uninterested in how I felt my current systems were and what my goals were. I asked for a price on two levels of Carrier (Performance and Inifinity) for the existing forced air systems, and then price me out for a reasonable high velocity system. The sales person who came out was pretty perfunctory and didn't take good notes while we spoke. I didn't think he was really that engaged in my concerns about the routing of high velocity ducting and placement--he just told me how it would have to be. While sometimes that's how things work, I don't think he really addressed my concerns with having all outlets in the ceiling only in the lower level, which would potentially leave me with lots of heat hanging around the ceiling. However, the larger issues were that the bids did not match the requirements for the project. First, he sent only the high velocity bid and nothing for the other systems. When i asked, he sent the other estimate, but only for the Carrier Infinity, omitting that I specifically asked for a bid on doing those systems with a Performance line that would allow me to use my existing non-communicating thermostats. In addition, their bid was the most expensive and their attention to detail seemed poor for a $40,000+ job. Spending less than an hour with me and sending lackluster boilerplate bids (with all kinds of language that should not have been in the bid, like references to other brands, etc.). A bid should be custom for the buyer and tailored for match what I'm asking for. This lack of attention to detail and customer focus lost Sila this job.

Great experience. Good customer service for scheduling and for the appointment--technician was super friendly and courteous. There was a mix-up and they ordered the wrong motor, but quickly re-ordered, returned a few days later, and discounted the bill $70 because of the inconvenience. I will absolutely use them again.

They are first rate. I have used them before and will again. Both Roberto and Jose were professional, helpful, warm and even played with my dog. You gotta hire these guys.

Very well - the technician Joey - is very knowledgeable, honest and easy to communicate with. Turns out we don't need to replace our AC system at this time.

The service technician (Rob) arrived within the time slot . I must say for this company before any work is done the technician always puts on shoe covers. Rob was very professional and explained everything to me along with other questions I was curious about. The work was done in a timely manner. Five star service.

The technician arrived promptly at 9 a.m. as scheduled. However, the 50-gallon water heater that I purchased would not fit in the space so the technician had to wait hours for a new one to be brought to my home. He was very courteous and professional. He apologized several times for the delay. A short time after the new water heater arrived, he had everything up and running. This was my first time using Sila, and I would certainly consider contacting the company in the future.

Sila was great about scheduling repair visit same day. Repairman showed up early (good), diagnosed problem before he even got to the unit (bad capacitor, buzzing), had part onboard truck, and then fixed it in less than 20 minutes, total visit. Charged me $439. Cost was $149 for diagnostic/visit + $290 for replacing the part. Repair was so quick that it was less labor than would have been required for a more common diagnostic. Since doing research after the visit, I'm of the opinion that the cost was excessive -- perhaps twice what it should have been. Service was good, but I would think twice before using Sila again, say, to replace this 17 yo system down the road.

Called on a Saturday. Sila returned my call in an hour later. Scheduled a tech for a three-hour window same day, and the tech arrived early in the window. He checked out the system and then replaced a part on the compressor. And then checked that the system was in good order. Very pleased with the responsiveness and efficient work done on my system.

Tony the tech was awesome. Showed up on time, wore booties (making my wife very happy) and diagnosed the problem on the first visit. Two days later he was back with the part, installed it and completed his maintenance visit. Very professional and friendly. Hope we will see him in the fall for the fall check.

The tech Marcus was great. He went above and beyond in answering my questions and the HVAC inspection I asked for. I had issues with water not draining from my drain pan, and he took the time to figure out the problem and recommend remediation options covering a range of prices, all without pushing their services. The service call took much longer than it should have for the 2 A/C units I have, but he was patient and professional.

Bill did a great job. I was running late and waited 10 minutes for me. He did an amazing job checking both systems. Cleaned up the insulation that fell from him accessing the attic and advises me to put half a cup of bleach in the condenser line every six months. Purchase the deal on angies list to save on the service.

Tech was on time. Seemed knowledgeable. Discovered a leak in unit. Didn't repair leak but added freon which was over $1000 in cost.

It went very well. They came in and replaced everything in the tank to help keep my toilets from running. Cheap, fast, and they did a good job.

The tech discovered there was a leak in the AC evaporator coil. The parts were covered under warranty but Sila said they don't have any warranty or discount on their work within a 3 year time period (which was only 2 summer seasons of using the AC). On top of that, they had to add costs to the job because they couldn't access the coil due to condensation piping wrapped next to the unit which blocked opening the unit. This really upset me because the reason they installed the system in the first place was because the prior 2 year old system was leaking and they said was installed poorly due to materials blocking the access to the unit! They wanted to charge about 1/3 of the cost they charged for the installation. I called to other top rated Angie's List services and got far lower cost estimates, If my experiences with Sila are an indication of their professionalism and customer service, then i can't understand how they get high ratings on Angie's List.

I find SILA as an organization responsive and professional, and I have noticed a major positive difference in the comfort of my home since I started using them (this is a colonial style house built in the early 40's with too few vents, some of them poorly positioned). In addition to the office staff I have had experience with a few different technicians. My A review is above all about Joey, who is the best service technician ever. He is always early, very neat and careful of your home, pays attention to detail. Most importantly he is knowledgeable and will concisely explain what is being done as well as answer your questions. He follows up on work that he recommends and is overall a pleasure to deal with .

Awesome heating and cooling services! Technician Bob was great - very good in explaining things so I could understand and just generally pleasant. And he was on time, which is so helpful as I work during the day. Big bonus - very considerate of my pets not getting out. Always a concern when service people come over! Bob also serviced my heat last winter and had another really good experience. These yearly checks are part of a yearly service plan.

I’m pretty annoyed with this company. The technician called me 10 minutes before he was supposed to arrive to say he’d been double booked and wasn’t going to make it till the following week. I left work early to have this estimate done. Sila should have let me know earlier in the day (not 10 minutes before) if they could make it. I’ve had three other companies come on time and give me estimates. I will not be using them.
