I just wanted to update my review of this company. I've had to use them 3 or 4 more times over the past 2 winters because snow and ice wreak havoc on my outside-hung door. They are always prompt; and the service is usually good/fair or very good. I just wanted to note that repairman Brandon came to my home today and was particularly excellent. He was prompt (he came within 2 hours of my calling the company) and EFFICIENT; he clearly understood what he was doing and was able to explain to me the several problems he encountered and quickly/diligently resolved. I was very happy with his work and will continue to call Overhead Doors!

Too expensive compared to other companies.

We are very happy with the quality of the new garage door and opener -- before we had an uninsulated steel door, and now we have an insulated door that makes the garage a lot warmer than it was. Overhead Door was very responsive in fixing a small issue, and the door looks and works great.

Repairman did replace the track correctly. This took too long in my estimation...many trips to the truck for parts and tools. The bottom weather track has been installed backwards...with the long side on the inside of the garage instead of the outside where it can repel the water, leaves, etc. This whole procedure took too long as the repairman sat in his truck smoking 2 cigarettes and taking his sweet time (my billed time) to fill out his inventory of parts used and subsequent bill.

We had some issues with our garage door opening. We could not get our cars out, so essentially we could not travel anywhere. We called in the morning and the technician completed the repair within the hour of getting here. Excellent same day service!! Brandon was very professional and did a wonderful job! He was quick and efficient. We were very impressed with the responsive and expertise of this company.

We had an estimator come out within 24 hours and he met with us at a time that was convenient for us which is pretty important. He actually recommended options that were more cost-effective. They had a door in stock that was what we wanted and they had it installed within two days and everything went really well. The guys that installed it explained everything about maintenance and care and the door itself has a lifetime warranty. The chemicals and everything else and the workmanship has a 1-year warranty which is a little better than what I found from some of the other companies. They were pretty much reasonable with regards to payment. I paid upfront and then when the job was complete and I was satisfied with the operation of the door and everything, then I paid them the remaining amount. They were definitely the best in price and their approach, how they dealt with me and their workmanship. If you've got a problem with a door, call these guys. Their price was very competitive. They came out within 24 hours and they had their work team out within 48 hours after that. The guy that I set the appointment with to do the estimate said he would be there at 4:30 and he was there at 4:30 and the people who came out to do the work said they would be there between 8 and 9 o'clock and they were there at 8:05. They were all very professional. They showed tremendous respect for the house. They answered any questions that I had while they were installing and they covered everything. They even hauled away the old door that I had already taken off and put on the side and there wasn't any charge for that.

Arrived well within stated period and called 15 minutes before arrival. Had all parts on truck (the springs needed are hard to find). Worked quickly and efficiently and was a personable and knowledgeable technician.

They gave me an appointment on Sat, July 20, from 8 am to noon. I hadn't heard anything by 11 a.m., so I called the company to ask if the repairman was still coming. The woman who answered the phone said he was at his earlier job, and that he'd come by as soon as that was finished. I asked if he'd make it by noon. She said -- in a voice with much attitude -- "Well, I guess he will if he finishes the other job in time." At noon, the repairman still wasn't there. I tried calling the company again, but the office was now closed (only open until noon on Saturdays). We waited at the house until around 1, and then left. By this point, we'd been waiting at the house for five hours. When I called on Monday to find out what had happened, the receptionist said that the repairman had been at our house at 12:30. I told her that was impossible, as we were home then. She pulled up the GPS data and said it was 12:51. I asked why the repairman never called to let us know what was going on. She said his phone had died. After posting the above review they called asking how they could make things right. They said that is now how they do business. They came out and look at the door as a courtesy. It didn't actually need repairs it was just a switch.

My husband built his dream garage almost thirty years ago and had Overhead Doors install 10 x 10 foot garage doors. He did not install door lifts preferring to open them manually, as he used the garage more as a workshop and for storage. Fast forward 30 years and I decided it was time to update the garage and install lifters. In reviewing Garage Door installers on Angie?s List, I saw that Overhead Doors was still in business, and had received excellent reviews. Without hesitating, I called to make an appointment to have someone come out and give me an estimate. Because I had a tight timeframe, I didn?t know if it would be possible to get the work completed as quickly as I needed it. When I called the office, they were very courteous and polite. Mr. Constantino came to the house, and after seeing the doors recommended the Lift Master Model 8500 Garage Door Opener. He checked with the crew to see when they were available, and set up an appointment for the following Monday. On July 1, 2013, the installation team arrived on time (even a little early) and got right to work. They were dressed professionally and were extremely polite answering my many questions. When they were finished, they cleaned up after themselves and then took as much time as I needed to explain the system to me. They also honored the $150.00 Angie?s List Coupon. It was a wonderful experience dealing with this company and their employees, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends, or use them again if the need arises.

Technician was polite and professional. Diagnosed problem quickly, and made repair immediately. Had part needed on truck which was a big plus. Didn't have to wait days for it to be ordered and wait for another appointment. Initial phone contact dealing with the company was also easy and pleasant. Came at the timeframe that was promised. As for what I perceived to be high price, must say that I do not know going rates of these services and the amount that I paid may very well have been totally in line with other companies.

Mike the serviceman utilized his skills sharpened from years of experience to repair an old quantum 1/3 hp garage door opener. He methodically took the unit apart and adjusted the setting screws back into their proper alignment and adjusted the location of the manual pull chain. Mike then lubricated all the essential parts of both my home and back yard detached garages both installed by his company several years ago.

The technician kept me informed of his schedule and arrived earlier than he had estimated. After looking at the door he asked if I wanted to replace just the broken spring or both and I told him both. He did not try to push any other repairs, or added services on during the visit. He immediately got to work and did a great job. He was very professional and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him and the company to anyone else needing garage door work.

They showed up on time and did everything they were supposed to do. They showed me how to use it and it works like a charm.

Overhead had done some minor repairs for us previously and so when we needed a new door, based on our previous experience I called them again. They responded promptly and analyzed the problem providing me with detailed information as to why I needed a new door. As the door was oversized, it needed to be custom ordered which would take longer than we wished. They kept us abreast of delivery date. Unfortunately, when they checked the door out at their receiving end, they noted that it was incorrect. They immediately returned it to the manufacturer. The only issue was that we had to wait an additional 2 weeks before the new door could be installed but we were grateful they didn't bother to attempt to install a defective door. They installed the new door efficiently and promptly. About a month later, we had a problem with a light in the garage and were unsure as to whether it was connected to the door remote opener; without charge, they came and checked it out and the light went back on when the garage was opened. We were very pleased with their professionalism and will continue to use them.

We returned from vacation on Saturday to discover the garage door opener would raise the garage door only a few inches then lower it again. Inspection showed one door spring was broken. Called Overhead Company of Washington, DC, ( www.odcdc.com) at 4:30 pm; Mark returned the call a 5:00 pm and got a description of the type of door and the lift mechanism. He went to the shop to make sure he had what he needed on the truck and called back at 5:40 pm to say he was on the way and the GPS estimated the trip would take about an hour. He arrived about 45 minutes later, went right to work and finished in about an hour. It was obvious Mark knew his job; no wasted effort to get things right. He recommended lubricants to keep the springs slippery and the drive mechanism quiet. Overhead Door Company of DC put in the replacement garage door opener after we decided we needed to replace the weak one the contractor had installed. So, we are a repeat customer even though it has been several years

Overhead Door came to analyze issues we were having with our garage door. They came and analyzed the issue, and told us exactly what was and what wasn't wrong. They saved us a LOT of money by being honest. When it came time for us to replace the door, they advised us what to order and do part of the process ourselves to save money. I will hire them again!

My garage door has not been opening and closing smoothly or consistently, necessitating manual opening and closing. Brandon explained the probable cause as cold temperature. Evidently, cold temps cause wires to constrict, and that coupled with loose wing nuts and a "too sensitive" setting of 3 rather than 5 brought on a "jerky" start and stop opening and closing of the door. I'm so glad I can once again open and close the garage door without getting out of my car.

Our garage door opener was acting up especially on cold mornings. When we would push the button, it would open partially and we'd have to close and re-open several times! Also, the key pad outside wouldn't work. I called Overhead and they sent someone out the next morning. He knew exactly what to do to fix the problem ( it was a sensitivity issue) and fixed the keypad as well.. We use them all the time for any garage door problems.

Repairs on older 10-year garage door opener would have been over $300 if they could find the parts. Opted to get a new opener, approximately $599, but older keyless pad did not work with it, so had to add another $100. Work was quick and very professional. Cost was more than I had planned on, but my better half was very satisified, so its all OK now.

I called and made an appt and they said the $99 for 1 door to service and addtional door $30. This involves the service is upto 1 1/2hours. James came in and did the work in 10min and talk to the office for 20min, then he said that the other door needs a spring and it cost addtional $40. We told him to goahead and put the spring. Then he come up with total cost iof $260, which was big surprise to us. We told him the service deal and showed him the ad from the home Mag. He doesnot want touch the other door which needs spring replacement. Finally we had to pay him $99 lube/penetrating oil which was done in 10min. Make sure what service you are getting when you schedule for tune-up. I would appreciate if they explain the cost involved when you make an appt, instead off saying that 1 1/2 work.

They arrived when they said they would, installed my garage door as I requested and I thought the price was good.

repaired garage, found that the part needed to make a permanent repair was no longer available. Gave an estimate to replace garage doors which was comporable to other vendors. Gave a date and time (two days later) whereby the doors ordered would be delivered and installed. Completed job as stated and we are extreamely happy with our total experience.

The project proceeded without incident, so therefore, successfully. We had used Overhead Garage doors for repairs back in 2009 and were pleased with their services so decided to contact them for garage door replacement, even though some other estimates came in a bit lower. We contacted the residential sales manager, Kevin Klube, for an estimate over a year ago in 2011, but postponed the replacement project until this year. When we recontacted him in September 2012 he still had the estimate on file and altered it only for a minor price increase on the doors. We signed the contract on 9/18/12 and installation took place on 10/9/12 so there was a 3-week wait, which seemed a bit long. But to date we are pleased with the doors so that is most important. Overall, we are very pleased with the experience.

Technician came and fixed our door within 4 hours of my having emailed the company. He was thorough and professional. What a great experience!
