Jeff is FANTASTIC! really nice guy who knows what he is doing. would highly recommend him to others.

it went nowhere. He did not call back for either of these two tasks. I sought, and found, service elsewhere. I will say that he has been here twice before, once within the last year, and once several years ago. work was good, price was fair. But he is impossible to reach. I won't call him again.

It was a quick and cheap fix. I can't recommend him enough.

Came first to assess problem, ordered parts, returned on later day to complete repair. Jeff is one-man operation, very experienced, worked carefully, tested his repair and left everything clean and ready to go. Prices are very reasonable.

I was extremely happy with this company.

Absolutely great service. Jeff is personable, knowledgeable, prompt, and competitively priced. He fixed my dishwasher in ten minutes and charged accordingly.

Called Jeff on a Friday afternoon and left a message. He called me back first thing Monday morning. I described the problem - refrigerator door didn't pull itself closed, and it wasn't a tilt issue - and gave him the make and model. He knew exactly what I meant and which part to order and we scheduled an appointment for after the part would arrive. He arrived exactly on time, had exactly the right part, and installed it in the door in about ten minutes. Perfect from start to finish. Only cost $65, and he's a really nice guy! I will definitely hire him for any large appliance repair (I think he only works on kitchen and laundry appliances unfortunately) He's great.

After many voicemails back and forth I finally spoke with Jeff only to find out he does not work in the area in which I live. He is very hard to reach but I would have used him if I could have. It seems he is a one man show and should consider getting someone to take care of his administrative and financial matters so he could devote his time to what he does best.

The GE gas oven in question is a 20-year old model. Unfortunately the control board is no longer available from factory. Jeff suggested there may be a few companies that can rebuild the board. I went online and sure there are some companies that specialize in rebuilding appliance circuit board. I plan the take out the board by myself and send in. At the same visit, I asked another unrelated question regarding another microwave in a different residence which I suspect a malfunction power control board. He suggested checking the board for soldering. Guess what? It turns out that is exactly right.

Could not get through on phone, had to leave message. Jeff called back and I provided washing machine type, model number and symptoms. Jeff visited house to inspect washer and confirm his provisional diagnosis. He ordered the part and returned about a week later to install it and check that it fixed the problem. Two visits to complete the work, but the fix is holding and I'm happy.

I have used Jeff for appliance repairs for a number of years. He is always willing to determine if maybe you can fix something yourself or to do some tests in advance of a service visit so he's fully prepared on arrival, and his repairs last. In short: he listens, he talks; he arrives; he does his work; and he leaves a reasonable bill. Also, he's always willing to provide (to customers) new appliance recommendations even though new appliances mean no repairs for him for years. I recommend him whenever asked. Just the kind of guy anyone would want to work with.

Perfect from start to finish

This is a difficult review for me to write, as Jeff came highly recommended to me years ago, he did some work for me, was great, and I highly recommended him to a number of friends. However, in this situation, my washer was sounding very bad and I needed someone to come out to take a look so I could figure out what I was dealing with. I knew I wanted Jeff, so I called several times and got a busy signal every time. I saw on Angie's List that perhaps someone else had had a similar experience, so it left me wondering whether he takes the phone off the hook when he's not there (of course he'd be out on calls), or if his answering machine fills up, who knows? On the one hand, he's got a very good reputation for his work, and I believe he's a one-man show, but of course that leaves him very busy, and he can't help everyone. I guess I just wish that he could leave an outgoing message to let callers know he's booked until ____, but I also understand he's just one man doing a good job, and he can't be everywhere. I guess, in this fast-paced, computerized, commercialized world, we expect instant answers and responses. If I think of Mayberry in olden days, I'm reminded that this is probably how it used to be. I did get another appliance person to come out, he was very responsive and very nice, and it turns out I need a new washer. I was not able to keep calling Jeff and hope for a time the phone wouldn't be busy. So again, my complaint here is merely that I could not reach Jeff's Appliance Service because the phone was constantly busy.

There was a broken coil in the oven. Jeff ensured that he had the correct part for the model, which he did. He replaced the broken part and the oven works beautifully. Well done, Jeff!

This was a very simple job, and it went flawlessly. I had to wait a week for my appointment, which was fine as this was not an emergency repair.

Our washing machine stopped working and the laundry room filled with smoke. We contacted Jeff and he came out two days later to make the repair. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty belt. The belt was replaced and the machine now works fine. We have used Jeff's Appliance previously to repair a refrigerator and stove. We have always found him to be congenial, honest and fair. We would not hesitate to recommend his services to our friends and neighbors.

Jeffs Appliance Service Inc. did a good job and seemed to know what he was doing. He was very punctual. But I have one reservation against him. He fixed the immediate problem with the machine but said that I would need a new machine because it was leaking oil into the transmission and it probably wouldn't be worthwhile getting it fixed because the part was very costly. But I wanted it repaired because the machine was going to cost lot more than that. He said he will possibly get a reconditioned one and that he will call me back in a few days. I tried to reach him a few times after that but he never returned my calls. So I get the impression that he doesn't want to follow up. I probably would use him again in the future.

I found him from Angie's list and I would use them again in the future if needed.

The man was very honest and was able to find that nothing was broken, but improperly placed from the previous company.

I had a burner not working on a GE range. He's very informative and has done a lot of leg work for me without me paying a dime to him. He's been very helpful before even paying him for anything. It's rare that you get that kind of investment on his end without any guarantee of a return. He really takes a personal concern in his customers. However he is very hard to get ahold of; his phone is off the hook, but he does return calls very well once you leave a message.

I really liked the service provided by Jeff from Jeff's Appliance Service Company. He is a local person and his prices are reasonable. He came out within a couple of days I called him. I would use him again in the future.

I've used Jeff for about 8 years now to fix appliances first in my townhouse and now in my single family home. I wouldn't call anyone else. He has fixed numerous washing machines and my refrigerator. He is always on time, completely honest, and charges very fair and reasonable prices. Last year he was very careful not to scratch my prized hardwood floors when he pulled my front loading washing machine out of its closet. He is fast and meets me in the late afternoon or evening so I don't have to miss work. I have recommended him to several people who always comment that they are just thrilled with him. The only downside is that you have to leave a message on his machine and wait for him to call you back during his office hours of 9 am to 12 noon (but he does as soon as he can). If I was his only customer I would be worried!

I contacted Jeff after learning that his brother's appliance repair service (John of Alco Appliance) doesn't serve my area. Jeff was very professional and pleasant to deal with and quick in determining what the problem was. And I thought his rate was reasonable. (The $100 included the initial diagnostic visit and the second visit in which he repaired the stove by replacing the defective part). Keep in mind I am a new homeowner and don't have a lot to compare my experience to. The only reason I give him a B is that it did take several weeks to get the problem resolved (the appointment, getting the replacement part ordered, and finally the repair). Because we had not yet moved into the home we had purchased, this was not a big issue, but had this been an urgent repair need, I am not sure I would have wanted to wait. Jeff takes calls in the mornings and does repair work in the afternoons, so you may want to keep this in mind when trying to set something up. (He ran late for the repair appointment because of bad weather/traffic, but called from the road to alert me). I added "appliance sales" to his category because he and his brother offer interested homeowners the option to purchase refurbished appliances at good prices. Of course, they won't have a big selection. We are considering purchasing a refurbished washing machine from him.

FANTASTICALLY... Jeffs modus operandi seem to be that he takes telephone calls in the morning and goes out to do the work in the afternoon. We have used him twice, once two years ago, and again this May 2010. It seems like you may have to wait a few days, but believe me, IT IS WORTH IT. We called... Jeff said he had a cancellation the next day and would be there at 1. The clock struck one, and there he was. Got right to work. Moved out the frig being extra careful not to scratch the floor. Determined that it was either low on freon or a compressor failure. Low freon could be a big leak or a little one. Decided to try the cheapest solution first. Added freon... Waited a wile and "sniffed" to see if freon was leaking... it was not, and pressure was holding... BINGO. .. Only $75! And JEff indicated that if it failed again within a month or so, he would apply the $75 to any future repair. (JEff was here two years ago, and put in a fill valve and refilled with freon for $90. BOTTOM LINE: PROMPT, HONEST, DOES NOT "PAD THE BILL" AND... on top of all this, he is a really nice and good person. He is low key and clearly very competent, and he likes to do what he does. Cannot ask for more than that.
