Claimed because furnace (Burnam Holiday) was over 50 years could not work on it. Didn't have safety hood as today's models supposedly have. Informed me about items that needed repair that had nothing to do with pilot light keep going out. Said thermocouple was pushed down, he just pushed it back up. It went out again of course. After reading about thermocouples I found that you should not have to "push it back up because it should be screwed in. I purchased a thermocouple, installed it myself (Youtube videos) and boiler has been working fine. It was easy to install. The hardest part for me was being crammed in the little space! I am so glad I went through Home Advisor so my visit fee was waived. I would have been highly upset to have paid someone who did not know how or want to work on an old boiler, then keep suggesting I purchase a new boiler. At the very least he should have replaced the thermocouple. He also tried to scare us about the "safety hood" by flicking from "pilot" to "on" while the pilot was already lit causing the flames to shoot out. No regular person does that...I wasn't fazed by the gimmick. When I do decide to get a boiler, Horizon will not be on my list.

they severely overcharge. i will look elsewhere next time

This company showed their honesty was a high priority for their customer service. They did not try and lie about repairs when it was a simple fix. Appreciate honesty as one of the customer service tools for a company, they have set a higher standard that I will recommend them to my friends and think to call them first for my next project.

Diagnosed the problem correctly

They are a rip off. The guy came to my house and messed up my heating system. When I called to have someone come out and re fix what they broke, they wanted me to pay. When I refused the guy turned off all of my heating system before he left. It is below zero outside, I have three young children in my house and no heat. They are awful.

Outstanding... even during this cold weather Matt was really helpful, never gave up with our problem to the point where he didn't leave our home until it was fixed. In addition Matt provided recommendations about the tuneup to our heating system due to the age of it. Thank you Matt for your hard work! Daniel & Kelly Sanguino

Stay away from this company. I've never seen someone come out to clean a furnace and instead not only not clean it but tell you that you need to replace your furnace and then walk away from the job. I had to hire a second company to do the work Horizon was supposedly doing.

They just lit the pilot lite on the boiler. They didn’t know anything about the boiler or even what type of boiler it was. They said it was a steam boiler. It is not just a hot water boiler. The tech called someone and said that if you want the pilot turned off we have to charge you for the call even though we can’t really work on it.

I had to pay a service charge, and he took an hour to assess the job, I feel like I wasted money on him. He was nice enough, but it did not do me any good. He told me it was one thing, and it turned out he was wrong and it was a waste of my money.

It was a good experience but a little expensive

Before making the appointment, Horizon was not clear that they do not provide service for Hot Water/Steam Boilers. If this was made clear initially, the HVAC Service Technician and our time would not have been wasted. This was unfortunate, but Dave Bogart was very understanding and professional with handling the situation.

I really like the idea of the she covers, especially since I just had my carpet cleaned. But I didn't like the fact that I wasn't told before Matthew got here how much it would cost. He said that I had approved a cost but that he hadn't even quoted me a price yet. I don't remember approving a cost. Also, I thought when Robert came out to service the furnace that I had signed up for the Partners Plan so I was expecting a lower cost. I told Matthew to go ahead and do the job because I had no heat so I had no choice. Matthew did do a good job though and made sure the furnace was working properly before he left.

Vito was courteous, professional, and friendly. He tuned up my furnace in a reasonable amount of time, and the cost of the work was good. I also loved that he put shoe booties on before he entered my home - very nice touch. First time I'd had a professional in my home do that - very much appreciated.

They did a good service and were very professional. They double charge me (which was most likely an accident).

Horizon was great. AC System was fixed. They charge for the job not the time. He explained everything to me and there was no pressure to buy a new system.

Horizon Services was timely in their response and they were very helpful in discovering the problem and giving me tips to avoid it happening again.

He did a really good job.
