I would never, ever work w/Go Contractors again. It took months of calling Angie's list to get the owner to even make an appointment. The contractor did not return calls. The workers charged $40 extra for materials - refused to provide a receipt. When I contacted the owner for a receipt, he did not know that his employees had EVE asked for an evidently bogus materials fee. The mortar does not match and the workmanship is poor.

Mr. Gomez was very professional when arriving as promised assessing repairs needed. Scheduled repair for Sunday, June 3, 2012 @ 8 AM, requested he move time up due to noise on a Sunday morning which he obliged willingly. Crew arrived on time, were professional and prepared with materials needed. Repaired both stone and gutter which was the culprit in corrosion of mortar.Took 4 hours for crew of 2. ( 9AM-1 PM). Mr. Gomez also, discounted additional $100.00 due to cash payment and our patience of time line. They did an excellent job of resurfacing stone to original appearance, as well as replacing the small piece of gutter which leaked. I would rehire if needed. My only concern with "all work done by specials on Angie's list" ( with exception of gutter cleaning 30325 ) is the overall additional cost.Also, when purchasing a special shouldn't this include free estimate, prior to accepting special pricing? Is misleading somewhat to quote price for work than have it escalate into much higher price when completed (w/ exception to materials). I'm somewhat hesitant to purchase more specials in future due to this restraint, the Special does not state- free quote prior to work done, so my assumption is this time (estimate) is part of time bought. As far as materials needed for job this also needs to be clear in free estimate. It is additional cost /time when companies have to purchase all materials which are needed to complete job when homeowners can readily purchase in advance @ lower price. I will however, Compliment all services I have received through Angie's list with one exception. They were done well and have no issues with quality nor the final results.

All went well. Just need to specify exactly what you want done. Quick, neat, very professional.

The contractor's crew were very professional and efficient. I was happy with their work.

They gave good price, good service, quick start and professional work.

We have had a problem with our retaining wall and he explained everything to me. He told us how much and it was and we are going to have to get our money back because we can not afford the job rite now. They did not charge us for the estimate.

They did a quality job. They weren't always responsive with returning my phone calls but once we talked we got it set up and things went well from there on. They respond better to emails than phone calls. They didn't clean up how I thought they would, but I called the owner of the company and told him and he sent someone out that day to clean it up. It looks good now.

They did a great job. They worked hard and cleaned up afterwards. There was a confusion over how much we should pay. Once they got up to the roof, there was more work than the estimate but that was understandable. When Nestor gave us a bill it was incorrect. When we pointed it out to him, he was very gracious & fixed his error. My suggestion is to get the estimate in writing so that there isn't any confusion. Nestor is a consciencious contractor who is committed to doing a great job!

Update: Nestor sent repair crew the next working day after I wrote the complaint below. I purchased the $100 special. Nestor came out to give estimate. There is a leak in the outside wall of our house. Nestor said he would send crew the following week to get on ladders and fix mortar. I've never heard back from him and none of my calls have been answered. I wonder if the job is not lucrative enough to interest GO Contractors. In any case they haven't shown any further interest in doing the work. The $100 special appears to be a sham. I'm going to ask for return of my money.

I hired GoContractors based on a coupon for masonry. I wanted the cracks in the back of my brick house pointed up. Then decided I really needed new steps and a new sidewalk. The demo was quick and the neighbors didn't complain about the noise of the jackhammer to dig up the sidewalk and tear out the steps. The pointing job was outstanding! They matched the mortar and it's really hard to tell where those cracks had been. The sidewalk is finally level and the steps to code. The steps feel so much safer now that they are all the same height and width. The workmanship was excellent.Mr. Gomez was responsive to my phone calls and kept on top of the job. In March 2012, the company's voicemail system would not accept any new messages. After sending 4 emails, I finally received a returned call and setup a time for a site visit. On 3/21, an employee reviewed the site &, after seeing the coupon, remarked "the work will take a few more hours" over what the coupon offers. Since then, I have attempted to contact them via phone & email to check on status of the e$timate. No response yet. Very disappointing on their complete LACK of customer service & follow-up.

I purchased the deal in January. The service provider sent me an email saying he was not doing any work until March. In March, I emailed him. He asked for my phone number so he could contact me and I never heard from him. I have tried calling him but my calls were never returned.

I called twice and left messages. They never returned my calls.

I purchased it on the 12th heard back from them 1-2 days later that the gentleman would be in touch with me. I never heard from them again and am now seeking a refund from Angie’s List.

His men showed up the next day promptly at 8am to start work and worked until late that evening and again came the next day promptly at 8 am. The job took two days, the first day they removed all the old masonary from all the bricks and the next day the reapplied the grout. The wall looks great!! This was a very difficult job as this wall faces a church property and has bushes and many obsticles, the GO guys were not fazed by the difficulty of getting all their materials up many steps and dealing with the bushes and narrow work space, they also were neat and efficient and did not harm any bushes or plantings going back and forth, nor did they distrub the church services. It was a real pleasure to have such a resilent team working on this project. I am working with Nestor on another job, will report how that goes after it is finished. Thank you Nestor for the great work

Initially, I was displeased because the contract took a while to contact me after a purchased a deal. But once we connected he quickly dispatched a crew to do the work. The workmen were professionals in every way and I'm pleased with the work they completed. The estimate was $720 less than the actual price when the work was completed, but I can't complain too much. I would used Gomez again and I'm pleased with the work.

I am losing confidence that they will do a good job based on the lack of responsiveness at the outset.

They had an appointment with me yesterday (Monday) and I waited for them all day, only to get a phone call late last night saying where they claimed the appointment was for today (Tuesday). I have a hard time with this because they called me yesterday morning asking if I would be home and that they would be here shortly. They proved themselves very unreliable. Admittedly, there may have been a language barriar that caused some confusion, but I don't feel confortable using this company for a big job since I can't count on them, or communicate with them.

After meeting with the owner, Nestor Gomez, to go over the project on 12/14/11, I tried to contact him the next day (and at least 5 times thereafter) to set up a time and date to have his employees do the work. To this day, I have never received a return phone call from Nestor. However, today (12/29/11) two men show up at my house (at 8 am) saying that they are here to do the masonry work. However, they have no idea what needs to be done, or where the repairs are needed. They also told me and my husband that Nestor is currently out of the country in Columbia, South America. Save yourself headache and avoid this company.

Nestor was very responsive in setting an appointment to provide free estimate for job. Initially, I wanted to have the crew excavate ground and repoint to the foundation. Nestor provided detail estimate on various parts of the job. I later asked him to change the estimate to remove the excavation and add the concrete pad (which was recommended by non-biased drainage engineer). He quickly sent and estimate and told me that he crew was available the day after next. Unfortunately, I wasnt available and asked him if they could start a week from Thurs. He agreed and later email me stating that they would show up on Mon. I resent email telling him that I could only do Thurs. He agreed. He later called me on Sun telling me that his crew couldnt come on Mon since they ran a little long on another job. I told him that would be fine, since they werent supposed to start on Thurs anyways. He acknowledge that he forgot this confirmation and that his crew would show up at 8AM on Thurs. His crew did not show up until 10AM. This was due to mix up on the address that Nestor provided to the crew. Once they got started, they were very professional. They reviewed the job and even offer to do some patch work in some of the brick. This was not listed in the estimate, but they did this because they said that they were not looking to nickel and dime customers on every little thing. I appreciated this offer and at the end of the job, I noticed that they also repointed brick a lot higher (almost 5') in some places. Besides the initial hiccup of starting the project late, GO Contractors were flawless. I would definitely used them again and would recommend them to anyone who wants repointing done at a very reasonable price.

Mr. Gomez gave me a $250 discount for the coupon deal plus a 10% Angies List discount as well as an additional 5% for accepting his proposal within 5 days of submission. I saved about 23% off the total cost of the job. This job took three working days to complete. The crew was polite and there was no problem communicating my concerns so that they could be addressed. I was very pleased with the quality of work and my walkway and landing looks very nice. They also sealed the landing around the base with concrete which was much appreciated since it was not stated in the scope of the work.

We had previously replaced a bath faucet with one of a different configuration which left gaps in the tile. They did such a good job that it was impossible to tell that it had been repaired. The concrete on the porch steps had become cracked and degraded over the years. Instead of patching the problems, they completely removed the old concrete and expertly laid new concrete. The other important task was to install a new shelf under existing cabinets in the kitche.n They installed a new shelf perfectly, and also stained it to match the existing cabinets. The company representative was always prompt and professional as were the employees who did the work. They also readily explained the steps involved in accomplishing the job.

Once we meet ; there were delays in connecting. Owner meet me in the evening at a convenient time for me. Owner was acommodating - I could only afford treatment to a discrete section of the wall. Sure I would have delighted in a more modest price but factoring time and Angie's List recommendations- this was workable. The guys came early, worked promptly. No additional mess with their departure

So far the experience has not gone well. I believe he has good intentions just been a little overwhelmed with the Big Deals that has gone out.

We were introduced to Nestor and his crew through the Big Deal offered by Angie's List, and are so happy to have found a contractor who does excellent work and caused us no headaches whatsoever. With only a few days of sunshine to complete the work (schedule was delayed by rain -- but we stayed in touch by e-mail), the crew showed up around 8 a.m. and put in long hours every day until the job was completed (most of it done in 3 days, with a short break for drying time -- and then they showed up on a federal holiday to complete the job in a couple hours). It took only a little patience to overcome a few language barriers, at times, with no problem. We have been told for years by other contractors that the mortar used to build our 1937 home could not be matched in color, but Nestor's crew was able to match it beautifully -- even our neighbors have noticed! The crew diligently and expertly performed the work -- and even took great care to not harm our flowers. They cleaned up the work areas at the end of each workday, too. We would definitely recommend hiring these guys to do similar work and have already been asked by a couple of neighbors for their contact information.
