They did a great job. The repointing looks fantastic. For as messy as it could be they did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed. The mixed the grout in the back near my car. They should have covered the car or asked me to move it. When I looked at the car after they were done and gone, there were splatters of grout all over the back and side of my car. It came off easily by hand. I got the car washed and it was gone.

I had a little trouble scheduling the work. I think this contractor was overwhelmed by the response to the Big Deal and had more customers than he could handle. After we did get in touch we had a little trouble scheduling a time and the first time the men did not show up to do the job when they were supposed to. The second time was more successful and they finished the repair of my stone walls. They did a good job and now the wall are solid.

Fair...I suppose I got my money's worth...2 guys did spend 2 hours on the job...they were pleasant and did "oK' work...not the greatest, not the worst.

The quality of the work was excellent, and the workmen did more than I expected. They strived to make an excellent impression. The only negative was that I ordered the work via an Angie Special in March, 2012 and the contractor was so overwhelmed with work that he did not get to it until July, four months later. I had to make some phone calls before I got moved up in priority - therefore, the low mark for professionalism. I wish that they had kept me better informed of the work date. If you use them, get a firm work date before making a deposit and you should be pleased.

The work turned out very well. The crew did a good job and were mindful of my wife's plants around the work area. It did take a few calls to get the estimate set up and to set the date for the work. The price was very reasonable and I would use them again.

[note: original review partially clipped; this edit restores the full review] Nestor's crew arrived on the day scheduled (delayed a bit by morning rain). The work took about 8 hours total. The before-and-after is amazing... nice to finally have stable steps with no chunks of stone missing. Also, the grouting looks great... the previous job was extremely sloppy; Nestor and company removed about 0.75" of the old grout and put a nice, even application of grout to replace it. Nice to finally have the color & quality consistent along the entire porch and stairs. As a bonus, the re-grouting stabilized our railing -- no more wobbly grip as you ascend the stairs. The only issue was my inexperience reading the initial work estimate. When we spoke, we'd discussed replacing the 6 steps with one solid piece for each step. I'd assumed that meant removing the existing stones (2 per step) and replacing it with one big stone per step. What he meant was they'd replace the the 6 worst-condition stones with new ones, and remove & re-set the existing and new stones. So I've had driven home the importance of understanding the proverbial fine print... though everything turned out well. The steps and landing look great, and Nestor & company were extremely professional -- I would definitely recommend their work. P.S. Be sure power-washing is part of the deal -- no matter how much we swept and rinsed with the hose, when they came back and power washed it looked so much better than we could do on our own. ***UPDATE 2/1/14*** Less than a year later and much of the mortar is cracked. Months of trying to get a response from Nestor finally succeeded yesterday -- he said he's coming by next week. We shall see if he does as promised.

I had a Angie's List coupon which was to cover small masonry for $99.00 Once I talked to the contractor I had to pay 600.00. He was also going to call me back but I never heard from him even through I emailed him twice. He responded via email telling me he was going to call me back but I never heard from him.

An Angie's Big Deal of $99 for four hours of Masonry repair. After a quick scheduling for an overview of the work needed, it took only just over a week until they completed the work..I didn't need to be there and they did an excellent job not only with the repairs but in matching the mortar color. Would recommend them.

.Gomez was punctual and very professional with his estimate for time and cost of service (in addition to the coupon I had). His men were very polite, and thorough with their work - an excellent job. It took them a bit longer than he had anticipated. Although the difference was not a huge one, he honored his original quote - a trait not seen often these days. When there was a small miscommunication (I don't speak Spanish), he was quick to answer his employee's call and then call me right away.There were several small pieces of bricks left behind, but they are no bigger than other small stones nearby - just a handful that mixed right into the soil. The job looks fabulous, and I feel secure that my porch won't fall away from my house!

Hector was great, professional and fair. He came out the day after I called him. My big deal covered stoop repair (brick and mortar reworking), but then I also needed a new step and crevices to be filled where cement part of the stoop met the brick. Hector was professional in his discussing options with me, and he came up with a fair estimate on the spot. I had the masons out within a week after that, and they did the job quickly and well. What more can one ask from a professional craftsman?

After purchasing the coupon I called GO and a representative arrived within 24 hours. I described the work to be done and the contractor confirmed that the tiny bit of cement work would be easily covered by the terms of the special deal. I explained to the contractor that I realized that the job was minor and that it was not urgent so, if he had another job in the general area, I could wait until it was more convenient. Three weeks passed without contact from GO so I called. The number rolls automatically to voicemail. I called three times leaving a message each time. A week after I initiated these calls, I finally got a call from the supervisor who had no recollection of the job or his visit, even though he took a set of photographs of the job with his cellphone. I told him the date of his visit - three + weeks prior - and he said he would call back... ...which he did several days later to inform me that his workers were at my home ready to do the work. I, unfortunately, was not there, but, wanting to have this small job done at last, altered my plans, went home and located the GO workers. Once they had access, the two of them made very quick work of the job, finishing in about an hour and a half; job quality is adequate.

Our walkways were cracked, flagstones were loose, grout was breaking down too. Some stones were broken on the edges, yet nothing seemed to be a problem for Mr. Gomez and his fabulous team of workers. It took one whole day. They left with a great clean up and by the end of their work day our walkway and patio looked brand new. We are still enjoying the well spent money for this wonderful experience with the fantastic results. Mr. Gomez was a joy to work with, he and his team were stellar professionals. I will use them again without hesitation!

The crew showed up on time, were very efficient and did a beautiful job. It looks like a brand new entrance. We were very pleased with their professional manner and the work they did in a timely manner (1 day) on a very HOT day. We will call on them again if we need any more masonry work done.

Because this contractor had advertised a special in Angie's List for 4 hours of Mortar work for $99.00 the response was overwhelming and he was unable to make contact with me for several weeks after my initial inquiry. After Mr. Gomez visited my home to review the work and provide me with an estimate, again I did not hear from him for several more weeks. After many attempts to contact Mr. Gomez to schedule the work, his crew finally arrived. The crew worked for 6+ hours (some of it in the rain) to get the job completed. The job was well done and their work meticulous. If you are patient, it is well worth the wait!!

I was continually having trouble getting them to schedule an appointment to come out. When he did come out and saw the job I was never able to get him to come out to do the work. Twice we had appointments that he was supposed to finalize a date and time and he wouldn't call or respond to my calls. Once we had an incident where there was a firm appointment and there was a power outage and they couldn't do the work. Even then, his guys said "We can come tomorrow just let Nestor know" and I'd call him and I never spoke to him.

Team of workers was very cheery and worked 12 hour days doing a great job. Would definitely hire again.

They did good work. They worked very quickly. They seemed to know what they were doing.

I am satisfied with the way the work was performed and the end product. An estimator made arrangements with me to see the porch that needed repair...and made estimates (what could be done for the Angie List special of $99, and cost to perform complete repair). Selected the estimate for the complete repair job. A team of three workers perform the repair work. They reviewed the porch needing repair, purchased materials from local Home Depot; performed the work; and cleanup. Satisfied with their work performance; and end results (repaired porh). Thank you for your products and services.

It took them long time to get here for the job but once they did it, it was fine. They do good work.

Mr. Gomez knew the work that was needed, but came with no ladder. I am not sure if he came back and ever got on the roof. I did not actually speak to him in person, but he gave me hand written estimates for repainting all 4 sides for $1250 new crown $450 and $650 for other work, that I never asked to be done. I ended up getting a refund for the deal. I don't feel that the deal was correctly presented if the company plans to charge for more work. That's not the way I read the offer. I would not do subsequent Angie's deal for now on.

He was great and he extended my deal when it was close to expiration. He came out and talked about my needs and even gave me an estimate. We cleaned my bricks and I found that the dirt had been holding them together as the mortar had been worn. He worked with me to get the walkway fixed. He did a fantastic job and I have more work that I will be calling him for.

They had to charge me extra on top of the BD. I didn’t like that they didn’t give me a written estimate for the job and on top of that after I paid they wanted more money, which I thought was unprofessional. I was happy with the work in the end, despite the extra costs.

After they came to view the property, they said they would follow up with us within a week to schedule an appointment to have the work done. Weeks went by and they never called. We have called multiple times since and only received a voice message.
